RTO ring push-ups are ridiculously stimulating for my pecs. First time I have experienced a pec cramp was because of those.

@@AlexLeonidas Have you experimented with ways to train the hamstrings in a calisthenics context? Appart from the Nordic curls, I have not been able to find a movement that has stability and overloading potential all in one.
@@TheAvgJay You can do a single leg bodyweight hamstring curl, where you lie on the floor and put your leg on a chair or sth else and you basically do a hip thrust from that position.
With relatively light dumbbells/weight vest/kettlebell, single leg RDLs, when properly executed to maximize the stretch, are amazing.
This is not calisthenics but leg curls with resistance bands work great as well, especially if you perform a weighted stretch-type exercise afterwards. Westside Barbell do a lot of these on off days for blood flow and recovery

The most impressive part of this to me were the paused deficit handstand push-ups. I don't know if you guys realize how ridiculously hard those are. That's some elite relative strength there. I would say the exercise is most comfortable when done on high parallettes or dip bars.
Also, if you don't have access to weights, you can progress towards one-arm push-ups and do rep work with them if you are able to. They are not that hard for balancing when you spread your legs out and you are still lifting about 65-70% of your bodyweight with a single arm. Try doing them with your arm on a weight scale to see how much you are lifting and put things into perspective. Use a push-up handle to make them more comfortable.
Those who tried paused deficit HSPU know what's up, thank you John. Whole different level of difficult and build huge natural shoulders, quite comparable to lifting especially with my setup. Oh yeah one arm pushups are a simple transition lift, even clapping or doing it off a decline levels it up.
20 down decline diamonds at the end?? Most people would struggle with that fresh, Alex is on a whole different planet than most 🔥

This really helped me gain insight onto what I was doing wrong and I will address my workouts accordingly from now on. Pushing sets to failure, not stopping at the rep goal. Using weights to decrease the rep range I fail at...

Great timing. I've been looking in to calesthenics, especially after your podcast with FitnessFAQs . Done ring push ups the other day and the novel stimulus had me wobbling like a fish outta water for that first set. The core doms were mad too.

Rings are king for stimulus to fatigue, really squeezing the most out of every movement. I'm going to experiment and add Ring Pike Pushups back into the rotation today and see where we're at! I love hearing yours, BOM, and GVS insights and experiences with rings.

Nice work!!! RTO for the win. I like the combination of push ups, archer push ups and flyes on rings with RTO. I start with the lower intensity movement to check how my body feels... I had some shoulder issues... this helps... feels great for shoulder stability. Delicious tension with the flyes.

Those RTO dips also hit the biceps due to the supination. Part of the reason ring gymnasts have massive arms.
I've had my rings for a while now but haven't had the chance to hang them somewhere so I can do ring push ups, can't wait to try em finally.

I hope you will make a calisthenics leg workout video in the near future. I always find bodyweight workouts very efficient for upper body, but not so much for legs.

Been using rings myself and they are helping with my physique progress although I do weights and calisthenics combined and tried out pelican curls yesterday and I felt it

I’ve been putting the straps for the rings further apart than my grip width to emphasize the adduction element. Basically the straps slant towards me as they hang down. It makes the resistance something like a converging chest press machine
