I agree this is Sir Elton John's best one and he makes me laugh even when I am down I bring his song on UA-cam and watch Sir Elton John's video and he makes me very happy 🎉❤❤❤
This is like watching that scene in Amadeus when Mozart takes that short ditty written by Salieri and just riffing on it until it becomes something extraordinary.
The thing is. Richard knows of Elton's brilliance. Richard is doing an experiment of which he already knows the outcome. He also understands that not many people actually know how brilliant Elton really is - but he is going to make sure they do before the show is over.
Elton wrote most of the songs on "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" in about 20 minutes and those are actual hits. Being normal people, it's hard to fathom that kind of skill, but hey that's why he's a big deal!
And apparently the whole process was completely professional: he and Bernie Taupin would have breakfast, then he'd come into Elton's office, drop a stack of lyrics on his piano like incoming mail, and Elton would go through them one by one and add music to each. The two of them a REALLY good at what they do!
It only could be him!!! Ahead at his time and born to win, Sir Elton John has been the soundtrack of my entire life since 1972. Blessings to him cos'he's still standing after all this time, don't you agree?!
You can be playing a piano for 50 years, or even longer. Doesn't mean they can do what Elton does. Some are simply single skilled, where Elton has always been multi-tasking/talented. Cheers!
This is one of many examples of how he can put anything to music in no time flat, other examples 2005 ITAS Peer Guint 1986 Howard Stern song Thats a talent you can't learn, you're born with it
yeah why not read about the writing and recording of the album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road? Utterly staggering how fast he and his band put the songs together, and we're talking timeless classics and an album that has sold over 30 million. Truly amazing what he does, or at least did.
To be great and to know it ... and to have this amount of humour ... we have to thank him for that ... greatness and somehow humilty so near together ... we all should learn that ...
@melobeatss it's a song about a damn oven, you can't make it more interesting than that in less than 10 seconds of preparation, give the man some credit.
@ChevalierAguila 'An Audience With Elton John'. It was part of a series shown on British TV on the ITV channel where stars answered the questions of other stars. Lionel Ritchie also did it. Don't know if it is on UA-cam though..
“Bloody Oven” by Sir Elton John
Sounds like awesome song!
@@lekalla Sounds like a Metallica song
@@daniellay3598 Yeah kinda lol
Suggested by Withnail/Allegiant General Pryde!
1:35 “Minor key, it was a bad oven!” 😂
The only man that could make an oven manual a top 100 hit probably 😂
Seriously, this just goes to show how bloody incredible Elton John truly is. To make such a catchy song out of an oven manual... Just insane!
I agree this is Sir Elton John's best one and he makes me laugh even when I am down I bring his song on UA-cam and watch Sir Elton John's video and he makes me very happy 🎉❤❤❤
I like how half-way through he changes style to get the audience more engaged and entertained.
This is like watching that scene in Amadeus when Mozart takes that short ditty written by Salieri and just riffing on it until it becomes something extraordinary.
This is a great example of Elton's "in the moment" creativity. A quick glimpse into his compositional genius.
The thing is. Richard knows of Elton's brilliance. Richard is doing an experiment of which he already knows the outcome. He also understands that not many people actually know how brilliant Elton really is - but he is going to make sure they do before the show is over.

We are the champions
I never cared for his music all that much,
but this gives me a whole new respect for his talent, and obviously he's a musical genius to boot!
He is indeed!
At his musical peak, his contract specified he and the band had to make 2 full albums and three world tours a year.
Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one can see. This is genius.
What is the target no one can see?
Richard E Grant everyone! Can we please acknowledge that the man who presented Sir Elton is a treasure himself!
Yeah he's a solid actor
It only could be him!!! Ahead at his time and born to win, Sir Elton John has been the soundtrack of my entire life since 1972. Blessings to him cos'he's still standing after all this time, don't you agree?!
I absolutely do. Watched a doco on him last night and then went back and played his vinyl again. Outstanding.40 yrs on and it still hits every note.
If Elton John sang the instructions to any of my instruction manuels...I might actually read them.
Rprince418 I came across this looking for a manual for my LUMINA 2L CONVECTION OVEN. DO YOU DO THAT ONE ELTON?????? BTW YOU'RE ONE OF THE BEST.
it took elton 10 seconds to make a song using an oven manual that is better than half the music getting cranked out today....
This is my inspiration. Q: whats talent? A: This video depicts it.
If I heard this ten years ago, maybe my house wouldn't have burnt down... :(
How can anyone not love this guy?
That's pure experience. . . Once you've been playing the piano for 50 years like he has it's not that difficult, but still, he's also a genius.
You can be playing a piano for 50 years, or even longer. Doesn't mean they can do what Elton does. Some are simply single skilled, where Elton has always been multi-tasking/talented. Cheers!
He didn't start writing songs like this after playing for 50 years. This is how he writes songs.
