Hi, thank you for your comment. If you want a lemon pound cake, just add half lemon zest and 1Tbsp of lemon juice. and It would be better If you add lemon extract instead of vanilla extrcat. :)
Sorry, but the cake tasted so bad that my family members and I all threw up from the taste. The baking soda was a definite no, and it created a super bitter taste. Edit: came back after searching about baking soda and baking powder. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING. BAKING SODA PRODUCES A REALLY BITTER TASTE.
I used baking powder, not baking soda. (baking soda and baking powder are different.)baking soda has acid, so if you use it, it can make metalic or bitter taste depends on recipe.
There are some substitute for baking powder, like vinegar, lemon juice, or yogurt. but I recommend to use baking powder. Because it makes swell stabilize, and doesn't affect taste.
