That helped a lot! I have one as if thus weekend. It was missing pegs in the drive wheel support and the wood looked like it has been worn down inside. Knowing nothing i took new belt leather and cut pieces to cushion the axle and protect the wood. I also used leather pieces as pegs. The wheel spins pretty straight now. The bobbin chatters awfully. So a washer will definitely help! My tension system is a different cast iron assembly but it is very loose so i put leather against the wood inside the assembly. Now to find the sweet spot fir spinning!

Thank you for another helpful video. The timing could not be better, since I purchased a Philias Cadorette wheel just a couple of days ago. When I got my wheel, the bobbin was not spinning freely, and when I took it off the flyer, there was a sticky residue on the flyer shaft. Removing this residue solved the problem and I just put some sewing machine oil as a lubricant, as this is what I read from other sources. I wonder if old Vaseline is left to sit the flyer shaft, could this become sticky???

Not sticky but needs wiped off and reapplied. Sewing machine oil is fine but it lacks the viscosity I desire. An alternative might be gun oil like Hoppes or Remington. Put a bit where the bobbin meets the whorl also.
