How to Culture Fruit Flies

Hey y'all, check out this quick video guiding you through the fruit fly culturing process. The kit we offer on our website includes Repashy media, deli cups/lids, and Excelsior. While the video features our own media (which is no longer available), feel free to use any media of your choice with a similar process. Each culture can generate approximately 3-5 new cultures, depending on the number of flies you introduce. Please note that the development time of fruit flies varies depending on the species. Melanogasters typically take about 2 weeks to develop, while Hydei's may take 3-4 weeks.
