I ended up buying a blending medium to add to the gouache - I spritzed it with water and then added a drop of blending medium, and the cracks have gotten less cracky :)

Super palette selection! I love that Smoked Bamboo … I find it so hard to find a good dark dirty Burnt Umber in gouache ❤

Thank you! I have found that you really need that dark dark brownness to add the contrast in shadows in landscapes.

Hey so I use toothpicks too! The Walmart pack of 500 round toothpicks work really well and there hasn't been any breakage yet.
