Great video! I watched it back when it first came out, but the camera was sold out by the time I could afford it in November. Fast forward to now, I grabbed one for my brother and one for me. I notice a lot of similarities in the menu settings of my Sony A6400 and the ZV-E10, but I got lost on other ones. That's when I was like, "Luria!" Thanks for the succinct set up tutorial. Does the camera have a profile concept so you can switch between a normal and stream profile at the touch of a button for example?
When you turn it on.. how much faffing around do you have to do to get it in streaming mode with all your settings? I.e is it a single button press to turn it on and that is it… or…is it a click feast?

Can’t get it to defocus effectively though. I only use it in the studio for static live streaming. Press the defocus button but not very effective , like in your video. Any tips would be grateful😀🙏🏿

In the settings my sony zve10 has different setting options no 60p 60m but i have a 50p 50m would that be suitable.

The audio input on my OBS studio is not allowing input from the capture card. I have an external mic plugged into the ZVe10. Help please
You'll get better results connecting your mic to your computer instead of your camera.

Awesome! Just in time so I can configure it properly! I got the dummy battery with mine along with a new capture card and long HDMI cable (I use it as an overhead camera, and that product showcase feature is amazing). Might need to get a slightly different lens though as the F3.5 kit lens looks a bit dark when zoomed in
Usbc charges your camera even when on. Why would you buy a dummy battery?
Because that process is trying to charge the battery while you're using the battery, and the camera activity will drain the battery faster than the USB charge replaces it. And, if you remove the battery, The camera won't run and the USB charge is still not enough.

Nope I used the Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens in this video. I now use the 30mm f1.4 lens.

Hi Love your videos! Finally ones that I can easily follow. I tried to set the "product showcase" but its not focusing on the product. its not adjusting at all. what am i doing wrong?
Sometimes when you're adjusting the dial it doesn't quite click all the way in, and so you're setting things up for one setting but it's actually saving it as a different one. When this happens, best thing I can find to do is start over from the beginning. Hope this helps!

one question, if i transmit the image through the elgato camlink 4k to the computer, i can transmit it up to 4k30 with the zv-e10, but what has more quality, that i record FROM THE COMPUTER the image that i receive from the capturer, or that i record from the camera itself in 4k30 and then pass that file to the computer? are they the same? thanks in advance.

I have the same question, the HDMI settings indicate that 2160/4k output with 60p is possible, but when putting it into "HDMI only" mode its limited to 30 or 24 only
Because if you're doing USB streaming, 4k is not possible.
Hi. Love the channel. Thanks for the great content. I am looking for some advice on video lag. I have a ZVE10. Connecting to an M1 iMac. The video lag is terrible (about 1/2 sec). This is video not audio lag. Have tried direct usb c connection. Camlink/HDMI. ATEM/HDMI. They all result in the same lag problem. So thought it might be a camera setting or Mac issue. Both Zoom and Ecamm show the lag. If I plug in a basic Logitech USB webcam - no lag. So very frustrating.

Actually, that's turned on and off via there "party on" switch! 😁 Smart plugs can make it easy to turn your studio on and off (just turn your computer on/off manually, to be on the safe side). 👍

You'll control that in whatever streaming/recording software you are using. You bring the input into that tool, not into your monitor.

I really appreciate you explaining the various functions of the camera. It would have been nice if you could have explained though what each function would do. (I say this with love) ♥. Also, some of the functions are not available on my camera that you mentioned in the beginning. It's the same model, but I suppose I would have to install other software? No, no other software is needed to set up your camera. Make sure you are in video mode before you start, that should show you the options you need to change to stream.
Hello, great video. I'm using a Sony zv-e10 as a Web Camera. The Webcam stream lags 15-30 secs behind my gameplay or video I'm streaming to UA-cam. Any suggestions? Thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks! I'm not quite sure where you are seeing the lag, but there is a lag between what you send out and when the audience sees/hears it. You can adjust that a little in your UA-cam stream settings, but it won't completely take that away.
If you mean that therea a lag between the game video and your camera, that could be the settings in whatever streaming software you are using, the capture cards you are using, the cables you are using, or a sign that your system isn't able to handle what you are trying to do. You'll have to do some troubleshooting (ua-cam.com/video/7fKhS2ZTi0M/v-deo.html&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE) to figure out where the issue is lcoated.

Hi, my ZVE10 is connected via HDMI but ends up switching off / going idle after a while during streams. Not due to overheating but just entering standby. Is there a way to deactivate this behaviour?

excellent video, a question? What can I do with the battery consumption. I plugged in the cable to keep the charge but it didn't work. I have video as long as the battery is charged.

Hey there, this is down to initial region set and whether it is NTSC or PAL? I’m guessing you’re in Europe and it’s set to PAL. If you click menu > setup . 2nd page and switch it to the other. Your comment was 3 months ago, so you probably already know by now :)

Hello! That capture card brings a single signal into your computer and outputs a single signal. If you need to being in multiple, you'd might want to add a Elgato Cam Link 4K

The camera in the settings is only one part of the puzzle, you could also be running into issues with your bandwidth, or maybe your computer isn't powerful enough to handle what you're asking it to do, etc. You'll need to do some testing and troubleshooting to identify where the issues are, and you may need to scale back your settings until you find what works best for your particular situation.

Got mine and it worked at first, but now it's not showing up in my zoom. I have the cam link as a video option but when I click on it I'm not getting any video. What mode does the camera have to be in to live stream video on a zoom call?
You may want to try unplugging and replugging everything in, it's amazing how often that fixes things. 😁
Also, you may need to go through and do your settings again. Sometimes somebody brushes up against the camera and doesn't realize that they've adjusted the dial inadvertently. So going through and resetting everything may fix your problem. You need to be in video mode.
my fingers keep touch buttons on the top side of the camera and it says invalid with this lens.. how can i turn that off so my big fingers can flow?
Will my computer recognize my streaming settings automatically when connect my camera to it? Or do I need to click the Streaming button whenever I want to stream?
The settings to connect your stream to a platform (like UA-cam, Facebook, etc. ) need to be set in your streaming software. These settings are just for your camera quality.
In order to enable USB streaming, do I have to do that in the menus every single time I turn the camera on. If so, that's unbelievably bad usability on the part of Sony. I need to reach around into a very tight spot to do that.
No, as long as you save your settings and are using a dummy battery, you don't have to reset everything every time.
how can i stream to facebook from e 10? or to instagram?
Our sony Zv e10 still shuts off even if we plug its charger. We use the hdmi out for the feed. We just purchased it a month ago. What could be the problem? Thanks.

Hello, I have a small question. Personally when I connect my Sony ZVE10 to my pc and then on obs via USB, the video output is only 720p. Is this normal? Is there a setting to do on the device? You can say it in video, but my English is not very good. A solution to at least have a 1080p output. Thanks for your answer

That could be a couple of things - it could be that the dial isn't fully set right. Try turning it and then resetting it, making sure that it fully click in. If that doesn't help, you might need to check the region it is set up for, that can also limit the options you'll see.
You have to set to NTSC instead of PAL.
how to livestream vertically using zv-1?
Can you also record internally on the Zv-e10 while streaming?
Yes, there's an option for that, but you'll want to keep on eye on it to make sure the camera doesn't overheat.

Do you know if this Sony ZV-E30 camera can be charged while switched on and streaming? I made the mistake of investing in a Sony ZV1 for streaming to a projector during live events, only to realise the USB wasn’t charging, as it quietly ran out of battery, with embarrassing results 😬
You don't want to charge the battery, it won't be able to keep up, Instead, remove the battery and replace it with a dummy battery: ua-cam.com/video/z3RXEID5lZA/v-deo.html
That way you can stream/record for as long as you want! (I've done a 24+ hour that way, no problem!)

First I'd double check that the dial is in the right position - sometimes it doesn't "click in" on the first try. If that's not the problem, check your user guide to see if there any tips.

Sometimes with the capture card your camera will show up as the capture card name, but it'll work the same.
