Here are the highlights and vintage moments of the 1990s. On reflection a completely different decade to the 80s. A giant step in technology and attitude.
Great comment Jake, it was the perfect mix of the new incoming but old style and values too. The Manchester United versus Bayern Munich Champions League final in 1999 I will always remember. 🥲
Mid 90s to mid 2000s was the best great tech and as u said not intrusive. If we forgot our phone at home it would be OK and the phone was used for its primary function calling people or sending text.
I’d swap everything I have and the life I have now to go back. To be with family I’ve lost, go to the pub with mates I had back then, raves, the music, getting the dodgy kebab at stupid o’clock after a sesh, waking up the next day watching football italia on channel 4. Watching the gorgeous Denise van outen on the big breakfast before going to work, it was just amazing all of it, so free, not tied down with mobiles and social media crap.
@NuNu the 90’s is difficult to explain to those who didn’t really experience it. But for some reason it was just a better time. These days everyone is in such a hurry, not enough hours in the day etc and most interactions are done with technology. I feel sorry for kids these days, they’re losing the social skills and not really building memories of being with mates and stuff. The great music and other stuff was just a byproduct of the time. It just all came together perfectly
When you went out with your mates at 9 in the morning and didn't come home until tea time. No mobiles, you just chapped everyone's door to see if they were coming out, those were the days.
yep... if the boys weren't at the chip shop go to the park, if not at the park go to the church carpark, if not there back to the chippy and wait for 20 minutes while having a chip butty with crispies... if no one turns up bike home without using the handle bars and play the sega master system....
The 90s was such a diverse decade for music, films sport etc it had something for everyone. The last great decade before social media and reality tv took over in the mid naughtiest. I miss the 90s people just got on with things and had a great time.
Dance music was also trash. And this video forced me to listen to manufactured pop. It also didn't exist in the 80s, 70s and 60s. Boy and girl bands with absolutely no musical talent were a 90s creation.@@jonathonpotter1059

What I'd give to go back the best time of my life every thing was so simple back then people were happier no social media just a great time too be alive got emotional watching this
We all wish we could go back, but who knows if things just keep on getting worse. We gotta make the most of what we got, life is what u make it. Never forget you always have a choice, a choice to delete social media's and do fun things again, it's not going back but what can you do.
Brit Pop was the best time ever. So many local bands playing every night and amazing events. My best was Blur at Mile End Stadium with bands supporting like The Boo Radleys and Dodgy. An unforgettable day 😊
I was 4 to 14 in the 90’s. Loved my childhood, loved all those memories. Football, music, things seemed better back then. The world deffo seemed a simpler place. Technology has a lot to answer for
We were actually proud to be British, and other countries actually liked us. I mean the last time we won Eurovision was 1997. I was proud to go abroad and call myself a British, now I’m ashamed after 21 years of highly questionable wars and government failures.
90s teen years for me and manhood. Was great times... It's a completely different world now. I was a 80s kid which I spent between London and Kent mostly from a decent traveller upbringing, I had a real slice of freedom. Was heaven on earth for me.
Those damn tango ads. Everybody at school would go around just slapping each other. I remember the 90s well cause i was a teenager (i turned 13 in 1993). If I was given a chance to go back I would.
We peaked as a species in the 90’s. Everything was much better back then, technology and social media has ruined everything. I fully appreciate I’m typing this on an iPhone but if I could go back to 1990 and relive it again I would in a heartbeat.
can you imagine the pantwetting at that boddingtons advert these days.... 1) using a black man, implying all blacks are drunks 2) using a hot bird to serve - implying women are subserviant, only attractive wearing skimpy out fits and the language is too 'familiar' 3) serving alcohol - i mean... 4) does the ice cream van have a food license? fuck i miss those days, theyve got it shit these days get it up them
I’m 48 now and I’ve often thought to myself that the 1990’s were the best days of my life too. Whether that was because I was in my late teens/early twenties with no responsibilities??? Quite possibly. I just remember that I was out on the piss all the time, mostly down my local boozer and the place was buzzing with a great atmosphere. Everyone was up for a good time. No social media bollocks, only a few Motorola mobiles about then (1995) , normally carried by the lads in the building game. Every generation who’re at a particular age and care free period of their life feel the same about a different decade. The outstanding memory of the decade for me is the lack of technology, which dominates the world now. No mobiles. Getting home to be told so and so called earlier in the day, or being given a message to give them a bell when you’re indoors. Living in the present and not being so contactable all of the time and just living for the moment. Maybe it’s rose tinted glasses and all with the nostalgia of getting older??? I just personally feel that it was the best period of my life too... happy days🍻🍻🍻
I was born in 1978. Most of the 80s was a blur but I remember every year of the 90s. Certain events I remember well. Nelson Mandella being released from prison. The death of Freddie Mercury in 1991 and the tribute concert the following year. Kurt Cobains sucide in 1994. Dundee United finally winning the Scottish cup in the same year. Euro 96, the death of Princess Diana in 1997. World Cup 98 and rounding off the 90s with a trip to New Zealand in July 1999.
Nostalgia is a beautiful thing man..fond memories of the 80s and 90s,when life was lived in the present that's why we remember it so much because we were there..
Wow I wasn’t expecting that !! 😳 real tears actually began to trickle watching this 😂😂 grown man and this actually got me, man I really do miss those days more than I thought I did ❤️
Good times . I actually grew up in the 60s and 70s. I went to uni in 91 when I was 30 when its was fun and free. The type of freedom we will never see again I fear.

@@lisacoe435 I was 6 years old in 1999. But I remember it enough to be the greatest time of my life. It was just lovely and so dreamlike. We lost that time . I think many can hopefully agree the left right political beliefs are a charade. a puppet show. its more clear than ever whoever wins , we lose. their goal is not to help us. it is to enable their paymasters to control us.
That still hand shot at exactly 2:15 is also spot on. We were all equal as people, nothing else. We respected each other's beliefs and cultures, man or woman, and listened to all genres of music.
The golden decade when music, video games, film, TV, books, education, the environment, technology, culture, clothing, partying and more, were all just right. Can't be replicated.
Born in 92’ but lucky enough to remember a lot of this stuff. Lucky to have experienced just those years as a kid. A lots changed since then, miss my family that I’ve lost 😔
I feel like a real odd one out in this comment section, having not been alive in the 90s, but this is the decade of my parents, and how they describe it to me, as well as videos like this... it's quite beautiful in a way that I'll never be able to understand, you are lucky people to have lived then!
I grew up during the 90s, what a great freaking time it was,, you had all the awesome movies, TV shows, cartoons, it was a time when the world was still very much n analog world, one of the sad things is that spite being into my 30s now i still have the same hobbies as before, there used to be awesome toy stores, hobby shops where one could be modelling kits, Lego was truly magical during the 80s and 90s, i could go on and on, one way ticket to the 90s please, i feel so out of place in what soon will be 2022, it's getting harder and harder to do the things i love to do because everything is supposed to be digital now and i hate it.
The 90s. There was nothing like it b4 and never will be anything like it after. The greatest era on the planet. Loved everyday. Would go back in a heartbeat
The rave scene in the 90s was absolutely amazing!! The kids these days will never ever experience it in their lifetime as the propa rave scene has gone forever. Got some of the best memories in my life at a rave all nighter bouncing about all night. Great times before the world went nuts in the 2000s. I miss the 90s so much!
In the 1990s our lives were absolute and fulfilling. Now we are being ruled by something less than real everyday in our pockets. I think you all know what.
The 90s was an amazing decade. Its only living in this day and age makes me miss the 90s. I was a teenager back then and people seemed so much better and real in the 90s and not so narcissistic and always walking around looking at phones. Also the 90s didn't have the hypocritical goody two shoes people there are today. Sorry to everyone else but I think us 1990s teenagers were much cooler too. Love the 90s. Wish today was like it.
Born in '77, the product of a hot and sweaty '76, the 90's were me. Would you go back, with the sensibilties you have as a 40-something? I dunno, i'm just at me keyboard on a Friday night with a few down me neck, nostalgia happens. But fuck me, what a decade. Blessed. Lucky. Part of. Currently rewatching X-Files on Disney+!!! Gillian Anderson, anyone?!!?
I'd love to be able see me from a 9 year old in 1990 to an 18 year old in 1999. Wouldn't be able to speak or advise myself. But watch me have that time again, all those wonderful experiences, knowing how it would turn out now, at nearly 43. I dun ok, I don't know you but hope you did OK too? What a time!
Thank you for making this video. Kinda got a little emotional watching it. I know they're not in this video but tv shows like The Word, Eurotrash and TFI Friday were also a big part of the 90s for me
Yeah, when Fridays were for Channel 4 and Saturdays were for BBC/ITV, and late nights were for Radio1 and MTV. And Mondays were for talking about it all.
Grunge music, wwf and wcw,Nintendo 64,sega mega drive, play station 1,world cup 94 and 98,original sky tv,renting a vhs from blockbuster on a friday, fish and chips on a Friday afternoon, best Saturday night tv ever, britpop ruled the country, wow what a time it was to live through the 90s!

Read your comment at 7:46 scenes were shown 😂
I moved from Australia to the UK in 1992 and loved it so much, I feel lucky to have so many great memories of the 90’s and like everyone here says it was the best time ever!!! Loved it 👍
What I'd give to go back the best time of my life every thing was so simple back then people were happier no social media just a great time too be alive got emotional watching this
Honestly the best decade. I was born in 1980. The 90s were just amazing. The music was also superb. Such variety. Great times
The music was dreadful lol. The 80s was the last good decade for music.
I still have all my dance, trance and house CDs from the 90s and early 2000s, love them!!!
Born in 86 and loved every minute of my child hood in the 90s life was so simple then .
We all wish we could go back, but who knows if things just keep on getting worse. We gotta make the most of what we got, life is what u make it. Never forget you always have a choice, a choice to delete social media's and do fun things again, it's not going back but what can you do.
Delete social media it IS a cancer on this world.
Kids today will never understand how monumentally huge the jump from 2d to 3d gaming was and the internet even on on 56k modems.
I still remember buying my first PS1 and being absolutely blown away by the technology
Even then, I knew it was revolutionary
I was born 68 had my teenage years in the 80s and 20s til 30s in the 90s perfect, loved the rave and dance culture.
Cool that you were raving in your 30s
Born 71 , what a privilege to have lived through it all 👍🏼
What a decade! Wish I could relive it. Didn’t appreciate it enough at the time.
How is one suppose to know?
The naughty ninety’s 10 years of solid raving and not a phone or snowflake in sight. 😉
I got 20 years out of it. 94-2014
The good old days 😂
1992-2004 were the party days for me and my crowd! F#k knows how any of us have any brain cells left but hey ho!!!🙏
Amen brother !!
All I’m saying is Mitsubishi turbos
Brit Pop was the best time ever. So many local bands playing every night and amazing events. My best was Blur at Mile End Stadium with bands supporting like The Boo Radleys and Dodgy. An unforgettable day 😊
I was 4 to 14 in the 90’s. Loved my childhood, loved all those memories. Football, music, things seemed better back then. The world deffo seemed a simpler place. Technology has a lot to answer for
Comments almost make me cry!!. I was born in 88 so 90's was the best time of my life. When i die wanna go back to the 90s bucle eternally.
A recent song said it best: "When you don't realise it's a moment, until it's a memory." Never a truer word spoken about the 90s
This was a time we was allowed to be proud of our country, and we was reasonably happy,
Woha raving lived it loved it
How times change.
I turned 12 in 1990, went to Uni in 97. Amazing decade, and I will never forget it
Take me back!! Born in the 80s but grew up in the 90s. My favourite decade and the most amazing memories!
Same here
Me too. I was born in '85 so i grew up in the 90s as well.
The 90's the decade of gurning and tingling.
My mum tells me what a strong handsome jaw line I have, I told her I didn't have it in the 80's it beefed up in the 90's.
We were actually proud to be British, and other countries actually liked us. I mean the last time we won Eurovision was 1997. I was proud to go abroad and call myself a British, now I’m ashamed after 21 years of highly questionable wars and government failures.
You've put a lot of work into this and you nailed the Great British 90s, for that I thank you kind sir ✌🏼😎
They changed the ad from slapping to a kiss ... as so many kids would slap up their mates
I was a teenager In the late 90s , what an era !
What a time it was
Being born in 06 I missed this generation but my dad tells me all the stories and I wished I was alive in this era
We peaked as a species in the 90’s. Everything was much better back then, technology and social media has ruined everything. I fully appreciate I’m typing this on an iPhone but if I could go back to 1990 and relive it again I would in a heartbeat.
I think the 70's ,80's 90's were the best before mass migration and wars and tony fecking blair.
Tony Bumbandit Blair was a thing of the 90s however.
Blair was a bellend but britain was relatively successful under him.
The only thing bad about the this period especially 80s early 90s was Margaret Thatcher
can you imagine the pantwetting at that boddingtons advert these days....
1) using a black man, implying all blacks are drunks
2) using a hot bird to serve - implying women are subserviant, only attractive wearing skimpy out fits and the language is too 'familiar'
3) serving alcohol - i mean...
4) does the ice cream van have a food license?
fuck i miss those days, theyve got it shit these days
get it up them
BACK WHEN MEN WERE MEN IN BRITAIN. NOWADAYS WE GET BULLIED BY RUSSIA
80s were even more normal, but mental at the same time.
That’s a cool argument you made up to get mad about.
Poor fuckers these days mate.
Well that's a load of made up bollocks stuff that no one today would be offended by. You sound a bit snowflakey.
Even those times were better than now, I'd go back in a heartbeat.
The 90s....the greatest era ever. Damn this bought a tear to my eye.
And if there’s any justice it’ll b a tear of joy😏🥲
I was born in 1978. Most of the 80s was a blur but I remember every year of the 90s. Certain events I remember well. Nelson Mandella being released from prison. The death of Freddie Mercury in 1991 and the tribute concert the following year. Kurt Cobains sucide in 1994. Dundee United finally winning the Scottish cup in the same year. Euro 96, the death of Princess Diana in 1997. World Cup 98 and rounding off the 90s with a trip to New Zealand in July 1999.
Life timed me to perfection! I was 15-25 years old through the 90's! They were bloody great times and memories!🙂
13-23. Fight me lol
The 90,s were good times I turned 18 in 1990 , best times of my life 👍👍😁
Nostalgia is a beautiful thing man..fond memories of the 80s and 90s,when life was lived in the present that's why we remember it so much because we were there..
Wow I wasn’t expecting that !! 😳 real tears actually began to trickle watching this 😂😂 grown man and this actually got me, man I really do miss those days more than I thought I did ❤️
That song stay another day by east 17 brings back such emotions to anyone who lost someone they loved in the '90s
Good times . I actually grew up in the 60s and 70s. I went to uni in 91 when I was 30 when its was fun and free. The type of freedom we will never see again I fear.
It'll get better is ALWAYS does😊
I was a young adult in 90's, but even today it's been the best time for me! Thanks for sharing, brilliant 😚
Welcome 😊
I was in love with my life in the 90s
Cuz the 90s was the dictionary definition of love.
Me too I was 5 when the 90s began, it was truly the greatest and happiest time of my life, the whole world's mentality and attitude was different and healthy.
@@lisacoe435 I was 6 years old in 1999. But I remember it enough to be the greatest time of my life. It was just lovely and so dreamlike. We lost that time . But the memories will still stay, forever. One of the greatest times of my life. the world felt bigger and more mysterious, life was just beautiful.
1996 was the best year. Oasis at their peak, Trainspotting came out in the cinema, Euro 96 and a new Labour government on the horizon!
This is making me miss the 90's even more. Anyone got a time machine I can borrow?
The golden decade when music, video games, film, TV, books, education, the environment, technology, culture, clothing, partying and more, were all just right. Can't be replicated.
Born in 92’ but lucky enough to remember a lot of this stuff. Lucky to have experienced just those years as a kid. A lots changed since then, miss my family that I’ve lost 😔
🤜
Wished time stood still for me in the 90s . Knowing it won’t but hoping it will.
Lets just go back to January the first 1990. So we can do it all again.
Haha yeah if only!
Omg yes please! 52 male here gutted at what the world has become
Take me with you
Lol I'd like that. I'd be 16 again and full of life, raring to go!
Best decade of my life! Can't sum this up better.
Absolutely agree with you, machine learning algorithms also play a significant role in manipulating people.
90s kid here. Truly great time ❤
Great eclectic mix of 90s memories. Thank you.
My era. When music was good, tech wasn't ruling my life, and my friends were real physical people.
Fantastic 90s for technology and raves... and The Shamen…. Still listening to them in 2021...
What a time!
i was 15 in 1990.... Christ that was a great decade...... cheers mush...
I was 13 I would go back today to this era x
I had the best time of my life in the 90s, thanks for the memories
They were the day's. My favourite year has to be 96. Going to keep the reason to myself.
Fucked up for ten years straight what a diverse decade happily relive those times
Thank you for making this video. Kinda got a little emotional watching it. I know they're not in this video but tv shows like The Word, Eurotrash and TFI Friday were also a big part of the 90s for me
So u got emotional, thank god I’m not alone, peace up ✌️
Yeah, when Fridays were for Channel 4 and Saturdays were for BBC/ITV, and late nights were for Radio1 and MTV. And Mondays were for talking about it all.
Simon Mayo confessions, Gazzetta Football Italia at 10am on a Saturday morning, Ocean Colour Scene....
Great times to be alive
I want this playing at my funeral! I have sat and smiled all the way through!
I’m with ya bro, it’s art....
