Five years later, and Canik grew bigger and better. All Canik TP9 pistol models are superb modern combat handguns. Canik has established a solid reputation for being reliable, accurate, with amazing trigger pulls and ergonomics. ALL that at an affordable fair price.
I have a TP9SA Mod2 variant, and have put over a thousand rounds through it. It's one of my favorite guns to not only shoot, but carry. Hell, I've been pro Glock for years, and once I picked up a Canik, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was
Proud to say this review convinced me to make the TP9SA (Mod 2 in my case) my first gun. I am looking forward to learning all I can about proper safety, handling, and respect for it. Thank you!
+GY6vids i own one of these as well... Serious quality and reliability for a pistol under $350.00.. I absolutely LOVE mine!!! I bought it in black and I am thinking of buying another in the desert tan. Great review video!! enjoyed it!
Very good through review! Sad it seems a lot of guys give their two cents even before going out to the range and shooting. Would love to see one more step, as far as a field stripping and cleaning.
everybody hated on this gun because it's made in Turkey... ridiculous. I think it's a fabulous gun, especially for the money. At the price point, you really can't beat it. Great review. They are making a competition 5 inch model, which appears to be copy of the walther ppq q5(i own the ppq 5 inch and it's my favorite pistol). Im seriously considering it as a back up competition gun, since the tp9 has been so good...
Tisas makes some great guns and around $400 for 1911's. Made in Turkey as well. Check out the TISAS ZIGANA SPORT. That gun is fucking amazing. Their 1911's smoke the Kimbers in one of these UA-cam vids.
After watching this I might consider buying this Canik saw another video where the guy fired it and after the 3rd round it jammed but this video definitely made me change my mind
My SFX came with 2 18 rounds magazines with+2 bases. So 40 rounds. Then I picked up a couple more. 80 rounds of ammunition ready to go. Not planning on missing that much.
@@deathdealerhype7819 Look around you can find them relatively cheap rn. Online I seen some earlier today for 280 at a few places. And thats for the mod 2. Which is the one I currently have. Shoots great. Although the springs a bit stiff. To break it in i recommend a bit higher grain than 115. A 124 would probably be fine.
@@TheChillDeadpool Same, I just picked mine up a month ago and was lucky to find a case of 9mm that a friend and I split the cost on. Hopefully I can find more soon. Love the pistol though, it's amazing how much quality you get for the price!
Great vid, I'm sold. I'm a vetran and retired police and I love my Beretta 92FS but this video sold me for a everyday carry. That firearm took a beating! And kept on firing.
Dude, hands down, one of the best gun review videos I've ever seen and I've been thru about 50! Love the structure ToC, the breadth of coverage, gets right down to the point, highlighting features, great explanations, very intelligent without whining and personal opinions! Very Professional, very cool, great job, Man! I will be watching more of your videos!!!
another first time buyer here, made up my mind on a Sccy CPX-2, but just wanted to say your channel is wonderful. No bullshit, to the point, what I want to see. You guys definitely earned this subscriber
Yup, THAT was a review! ... Recently delved into Turkish made "clones" of CZ-75s by Canik and Sarsilmaz and am extremely pleased as well as somewhat impressed! Now this review (best in awhile) furthers my interest as these are excellent values to say the least! (Another sleeper=ARCUS 98 DA 9mm Bulgarian High Power clone).
I got both the TP9v2 (black) and the newer TP9sf (desert tan) and both firearms have shot flawlessly. I've probably put at least 500 rounds to each firearm and haven't had any issue with it. I highly recommend it...especially for around $350 !!!
I shot a friend of mine's TP9 a few weeks ago and was as impressed with it as most reviewers seem to be. It has a decent and wide trigger; better than my factory Glock23's trigger. The ergos are great. It was accurate as well. I'm guessing his was the V2 because it was DA/SA which was pretty sweet.
+Kyle M Green GREAT INFORMATION to hear....This helps us all see quality control over many different pistols out in the market. Yeah it had to be the TP9v2 then if it was DA as well. Thanks for the great comment.
I should also note that we did manage to get 18rds in both magazines but it was a PITA without the loader so we only loaded 17 on the last couple of reloads. My friend has the tan coloration. I'll tell him not to throw his in gravel LOL Thanks for the punishing review!
I have the TP9SA and it has been flawless with over 1500 rounds through it. I have never ran more than 200 rounds without cleaning. I ran 200 the first time out but I did strip the factory lube off and put my lube of choice on. The fact that Andrew ran it with factory lube for 500+ rounds then put sand in it and threw it around like it was a Hi-Point and still had only one failure to extract is epic.
I just purchased a CANIK TP9SA & am very satisfied with it. I love the DeCocker, which can act as a Manual Safety. The Slide RACKS very nicely - without catching on the Slide Catch. The Takedown Lever is the EASIEST to use. I don't care about the Paddle Holster. There are much better Holsters Out There.
Ok, you surprised me when you threw it through the target lol. Then ok toss in sand alright no biggie, then freakin baseball throw it and skip it like a rock. Didn't really expect that. Shaping up to be a good budget pistol. That failure to extract could be weak ammo, especially if it was wwb.
Oh, huh... I think I'm sold on this one. Living in a very remote part of Missouri that is well known for its heroin and methamphetamine trade, so I have to set a certain standard for personal defense. I've been mulling about, considering a dozen other handguns for the past few days... but now? Looking into the TP9sa, I've seen and heard a lot of impressive things. Not to mention, I'd be saving about $120 at least if I choose this over my other favorite, and that's a lot of money to put towards ammunition. All-in-all, for its intended purpose, this pistol seems to fit the bill. I suppose I'll still ask a few friends and see what they think first, but I'm kind of already intent on buying this. Thanks for the video, GY6! Wouldn't have found it without you guys.
bigbake132 Yep! That's what I ended up going with yesterday. I'm going to head out later today and try it out on the range. I really wish I could have tested it at the shop, but they didn't have the accommodations to do so. It feels great in my hand, though.
***** Just got back from the range today with my V2, I really liked it. Put 150 rounds through it, no malfunctions or problems. Shoots very pleasantly and feels good in my hand. On your first shot you will have a recess on the trigger and you just have to keep pulling though it so your first shot might be off but the trigger will lock back and your next 17 shots will be good. Also I have long fingers so I needed to put the larger back grip on it to fit a little more comfortably but still feels good either way. Have fun!
I have had mine for about 6 months and ran 500+ rounds through it, no issues and the smoothest 9mm ive ever shot. Very surprised and impressed with this to be as cheap as it is!
This review sold me on this pistol. I've had it for about a month & I've run about 300 or so rounds & the only issues I've had are with blazer rounds with the aluminum cases & they were old like the price on the box was 5.97 from wal-mart old. Anyway I just gor 1,000 rounds of magtech ammo & I'm looking forward to running more down the pipe. Zero buyers remorse here. Thanks for the great review! Keep it up!
I bought this gun a while back when they were still relatively unknown and have since put thousands of rounds through it and can't recall having any malfunctions. I'm always introducing friends and relatives to firearms and this is always the gun they enjoy shooting the most. I love my other handguns but this one is just an absolute joy to shoot. I can't say enough good things about it other than if you are on the fence, just go ahead and get it. You won't regret it.
I finally broke down last week and got a TP9 SA V2. In a major way, your review was a deciding factor in this. Also, the V2 is a Double Action, so... That closed the deal for me. *Love the Pistol.* No, i did not throw mine. :p
This is my conceal carry and I got the custom made Turkish handmade holster. It did start to stove pipe after about 150 rounds but after it was cleaned and oiled it's a champ.. ..I like it much better than my Shield and Rugers... and yes.. it comes with a lot of nice perks... the Desert Tan is hot looking...recoil is minimal and it's an accurate shot...
I sold my glocks had 3 of them after my first tp9sa. now have 2 tp9s and the extra I have purchased more reloading supplies and have just passed 2500 rds thru my first Canik and have enjoyed every shot great video
Just bought mine today! Kansas baby! In and out of the gun store in 11 minutes. FBI background check and a swipe of my card. Done and done. I'm falling in love the more I hold it
Good video. I have 3 of the TP9SFX & 1 TP9SF, I've been looking at both the SA & the Elite. As everyone may or may not have noticed, during your 200 round testing, with 115 & target ammo, you had NO FTF or FTE, not until you beat the ctap out of it. I have over 12,000 thru one of the SFX guns & never any feed or ejection issues. The guns are accurate, comfortable & just flat out run. For the price & quality, it will be hard to find another gun comparable.
I loved this video because it covered a relatively unknown maker and you gave it a fair a subjective shot. I ended up purchasing this because of your feedback.
That is great to hear. Before this video there wasn’t a lot of people talking about them. Their company has since taken off and everyone talks about them. Glad I did my part for the 2a community.
First time viewer here... this is, IMO, the best review I've seen of the Canik TP9SA. No prattling on about the decocker, just a quick mention to inform the viewer, and then testing. I have to say, for over 500 rounds right out of the box, plus two rounds of sand and two rounds of general beating, one failure to eject is awesome for a $350 gun. Great video, great review. I also think you're the first reviewer I've seen to actually talk about the sight picture (6 o'clock/pumpkin on post vs. center mass/half n' half). Color me subscribed, sir!!
interesting. comes in just under $600 for us Canadians, where as you're spending 8-900 for a glock and 850-900 for an M&P...if you can ever find a glock or M&P in stock somewhere. i'd like to see the DA model. price difference is basically an extra 1000 rounds of ammo. have to say this is a great review. very detailed, keep it up!
I bought the TP9SA for my very first handgun and it has proven to be an amazing buy. I haven't had a single problem with it after close to 1000 rounds and it feels great to shoot. Not to mention the trigger is simply amazing. It isn't going to be the top of the line "must have", but for the price it really is worth a look.
I bought a TP9SF Elite as my first handgun back in October, and I have to say having gone to the range to see what felt good in my hands before I purchased anything, I fell in love with the Canik the first time I shot it so I bought one. I now have around 600 rounds through the gun with no malfunctions whatsoever.
This is quickly becoming my favorite gun channel! very good production quality and thorough review! Please, stay honest for your viewers. If you don't like something about a product, say it out. We don't need another Hickok45 to only report the happy stuff.
Awesome Andrew! Great review! I showed my cousin who isn't to well off with funds and he is already looking for dealers in our area!! Keep up the great work! Been a fan since day one!
+Stuart Anderson That is fantastic, everyone ones on a budget in some way or another, having a Quality Firearm that doesn't cost an Arm and a Leg is so refreshing! Thank you for all the support over the years.
I have been looking somewhat skeptically at this pistol for a little while and have watched some reviews. I own a Century GP1975 , which has been a solid rifle for me. About 2 weeks ago I purchase Centuys' new RAS47 and absolutly am in love with it. Between my recent purchase and this review and the way you beat the hell out that pistol, my decision making process is done!!! Century is going out of their way to bring fantastic fire arms( my opinion only) at great prices and that makes this poor boy very happy!! Thanks for the torture review! I enjoyed it immensely! And no I dont work for or no anyone the works for Century. They've just proven themselves to me and thats it!
+Can Bob the Builder fix my life? Thats why this pistol was so SHOCKING! being under $350 it performed amazingly!...but yes, most pistols are over $500.
GY6vids Seeing how the media here puts it like everyone and their mother has an entire arsenal this was a pretty big WTF for me. I thought maybe like 100 for a regular pistol and 300 for an AR. Could you tell me some estimates on how much a common Glock pistol would be, how much an AR would be and what are the prices for bullets? I'm really curious lol, eye-opening. Have you done/will you do a video on gun facts for non Americans? Love your videos!
+Can Bob the Builder fix my life? Used full size Glocks can be bought for around $400 and new they're about $500-$600. AR style rifles have a pretty large price gap depending on the components and accessories. You can get a cheap AR in 5.56 for around $500 and of course you can spend $1,500-2000+ if you want to get fancy (These are the prices I typically see in Texas)
+Can Bob the Builder fix my life? What @Stickrpg23 said is pretty spot on. Ammunition varies depending on the Caliber. anywhere form 10cents per round for 22LR ammo, all the way up to High Caliber Rounds like 50BMG can run $3-$6 per round depending on the type of round as well.
I'm halfway through and I have to stop and say that I LOVE THIS REVIEW! I like the editing and camerawork, how you focus in on the aspect of discussion with extra filming to show detail, the cocking indicator for example. The bullet points too, nice! But then... you took it out and shot it! First shots experienced and analyzed on camera??!!! I've never seen it done like that before. Good job! Awesome. Subscribed. Thank you for the effort!
My dad just purchased a tp9sf online for 279 and he loves. He researched online forever the best cheaper gun. Was willing to spend 450 to 500 but found more vids and blogs about this weapon. So we went to the local gun shop and the dude in there without mentioning what we had been researching, when asked the best first gun/ cheaper option he immediately talked about this gun. I have an ar but need a pistol and I will also be purchasing this gun as well soon.
dude, i'm really impressed with your shooting demo of the canik. it's extremely illustrative with this perspective from the camera. this could be just about the best YT review i've seen of this pistol. Mazal Tov!!!
This video helped sell me on buying my first firearm! I love the feel and mechanics of the TP9SA and can't wait to get out and put some rounds in it! Thanks for your great video!
I have this gun in layway. I was bum out when i found out it was made in Turkey. But also finding out it has pretty damn good reviews from every review channel, makes me glad this gonna be my first pistol. Haha
Andrew, good job on this review. I have had my tp9sa for over a year now and will not carry anything else. The firepower and reliability of this gun is just too excellent. Over 2000 rounds through mine and counting. I have had only 2 malfunctions. Long story short i am glad to see you do such a good honest review without too much gun guy know it all b.s. opinion like others have been doing. Good job. It's about time people see that this gun is just excellent and that you dont need to spend 1000 dollars and your ego on a gun.
two thumbs up! Because of this video I just went and bought one today and I would never put it through what you put it through as I work real hard for every dollar so value is important to me. Thank you for showing me a great pistol worth every drop of sweat it took me to own one.
Very thorough! I just bought one of these and had only shot the DA though. I wasn't sure how to reset the trigger until I saw this. Press check, excellent. Thank you for a quality review.
I have been watching your videos from the start i also watch the majority of the other popular firearms channels. you are by far giving the gun the best review and test of anyone..straight baseball tossed the gun into the dirt and gravel some of the other channels abuse it but u can definitely tell they hold back.... it makes the review extremely appreciated because we want to know just how bad of conditions it will really take....your first toss through the target i busted out laughing
I turned 21 yesterday and this will probably be my first handgun

When I see the tan version it reminds me of an FNP 45 for some reason.
Great review. I'm sold on this pistol. Thanks for abusing the shit out of it. My wife is gonna love the Canik!
Glad the review helped inform you for a purchase! Stay Safe and Long Live the 2nd
3 years later and this still doesn't get old.
IT IS CALLED CANİK
IT IS BETTER THAN MY GLOCK 19
It's actually pronounced Janik.
I picked one up back in May, and have been highly impressed with it. Keep mine stashed in the truck.
5:15 MW2 hit marker sound xD
I did not notice that until I saw for myself after reading the comment
uhbbjiuys
..
+Luis Maiocchi awesome right? xD
The good days when COD didn't have EXO suites and was 90% skill
+mathew davis oh yeah rest in peace MW2 :(
I sold my glocks had 3 of them after my first tp9sa. now have 2 tp9s and the extra I have purchased more reloading supplies and have just passed 2500 rds thru my first Canik and have enjoyed every shot great video
Excellent review!! Looking forward to more.
+Jammerjim Thank You, we appreciate the support! MUCH MORE TO COME.
Just bought mine today! Kansas baby! In and out of the gun store in 11 minutes. FBI background check and a swipe of my card. Done and done. I'm falling in love the more I hold it
Lmao his shirt says "warning! I shoot back" that's great 😂 but amazing review
For the price & quality, it will be hard to find another gun comparable.
subscribed to your channel andrew love it no crap to the point earned this subscriber
Welcome to GY6vids! Thank you for the support!
GY6vids no problem andrew!!
@@GY6vids it was actually my first firearm purchase.
just subscribed!!! great review
Thank you! Welcome to GY6vids.
GY6vids thanks for your great advice my friend I was looking to buy a tp9
RD Tech. Do yourself a favor, spend a few more bucks and get the TP9 sf elite. I did, it is awesome!
Great videos man keep up the good work love them
+Marcus Heath Thank you! We will. Happy New Year!
Yea can I come shoot with you guys some time? Where you guys located
I have the Tp9SA. Love it it's amazing
that pistol toss !!!!!!!! seriously made me laugh
Yay! I've been waiting to see you review this pistol!! I have 2000 rounds through mine so far, most of it tula ammo and its still going strong. :D
interesting. comes in just under $600 for us Canadians, where as you're spending 8-900 for a glock and 850-900 for an M&P...if you can ever find a glock or M&P in stock somewhere. i'd like to see the DA model.
price difference is basically an extra 1000 rounds of ammo.
have to say this is a great review. very detailed, keep it up!
purchased one for myself and this gun is very impressive and easy on the wallet!
Cheap way to get the "battle worn" look lol
CSGO skins make guns look like fake toy guns
Battle scarred, well worn

Dayton Cebertowicz Go fuck urself :)
miccheck11 shut yo stupid ass up
Just got this as my first pistol and have been excited to get to fire it. Watching this video made me not second guess having this pistol!
under 350$ ??? in turkey it's minimum 500$ i mean the worst types and also you have to paid houndreds for paper works, i hate our gun laws
Nice video?
Bur I'm not a big fan of the font from the in video 'table of contents'
I get that i's a special style, but it looks a bit messy imo.
I almost died when you threw the gun the first time!! Then you were like...But wait!! There's MORE!! Lmao!!
+Medic1152 Muahahahahahah
GY6vids Good stuff mam...lol
This is quickly becoming my favorite gun channel! very good production quality and thorough review!
Please, stay honest for your viewers. If you don't like something about a product, say it out. We don't need another Hickok45 to only report the happy stuff.
m&ps dont even come with that stuff
Awesome Andrew! Great review! I showed my cousin who isn't to well off with funds and he is already looking for dealers in our area!! Keep up the great work! Been a fan since day one!
+Stuart Anderson That is fantastic, everyone ones on a budget in some way or another, having a Quality Firearm that doesn't cost an Arm and a Leg is so refreshing!
Thank you for all the support over the years.
Smith wesson M&P 9mm can be had for $399 now. so. yeah.
m&p is single stack ,4 inch,NO case,no cleaning kit,no holster .so.yeah.lol
sw sd9ve and khar 9mm are 300$
+762x39warrior Ive never liked the SDVE models nor do I like lower end Khar models. They feel so cheap and gritting, plus horrible triggers IMO
+HardWorkPays llc www.gunbuyer.com/p-61401-smith-and-wesson-mp9-9mm-425-barrel-171-no-mag-safety-black.aspx
+HardWorkPays llc $379 for a new full size M&P 9mm 17 rds ....SO YEAH LOL
1 18 and 1 17. It fits 18 but it's difficult to push mag in. This video is what made me get a canik. Thanks so much.
this is a turkish pistol
ARDA ERDEM as bayrakları hee?
Türk müsün Arda Erdem?
Turkish Special forces use it and its also a highly recommended among the CIA
Wait pistols are mostly over 500 dollars? What the fuck... (Dutch here pls no bully)
+Can Bob the Builder fix my life? Thats why this pistol was so SHOCKING! being under $350 it performed amazingly!...but yes, most pistols are over $500.
some people can't afford expensive pistols.
Was thinking about getting this gun tomorrow. No more thinking, you sold this gun to me bro. Great review!
+MrStaton352 Glad you liked the video.
First time seeing you. Best demonstration and review video. The torture test was great.
Welcome to GY6vids!
After watching your review about this guy, I bought one, thanks for been honest and funny in the same time.
Respect
Haz
Thank you for this review. Very informative and straight to the point. I just placed an order for a TP9SA because of your review, can't wait!
Much respect bro, best review I’ve ever seen, looking forward to getting one
I have one and it's a tack driver. Very accurate even out at distance. Excellent weapon.
Very thorough! I just bought one of these and had only shot the DA though. I wasn't sure how to reset the trigger until I saw this. Press check, excellent. Thank you for a quality review.
I really love how you go the extra mile on all of your reviews.
I bought one and I gotta say for the money they are absolutely amazing.....Im a huge Canik fan...
Your videos are getting more and more professional looking over time, great job
I have been watching your videos from the start i also watch the majority of the other popular firearms channels. you are by far giving the gun the best review and test of anyone..straight baseball tossed the gun into the dirt and gravel some of the other channels abuse it but u can definitely tell they hold back.... it makes the review extremely appreciated because we want to know just how bad of conditions it will really take....your first toss through the target i busted out laughing
and PS just bought a canik tp9 SF via your review I like it because the others I bought it because of yours
