***** It is so refreshing to see another left handed shooter. Even the 3 different shooting competitions I go to during the week I am the only person with a holster on my left side. Too many manufacturers overlook us with single side controls like safety levers and slide lock/release. Getting used to manipulating the slide lock and mag release with your index finger is not a huge feat, but learning to draw with your thumb over top of the slide to disengage the safety and then move your thumb back over before you present the muzzle to your target just leaves too much margin for error.

The Strike One pistol reminds me of the accuracy of the TT33 pistol. It looks like a well designed pistol.
I'd like to see modular frame and a 10mm caliber version.

One thing I really like about this video is the fact that you actually know how to hold and shoot both pistols to control the recoil. It's surprising how many shooters don't. I feel your video with slow motion, ect. Is the best representation of both the Glock and strike1. Thank you.

I have serial 377 and 378 consecutive numbers. Everyone I have done a demonstration with and let try out loves it. The balance and weight and tactile feel along with its so smooth operation is like eating a fine salty snack or sugary candy. Just very satisfying. Thank you for the video.

just received my strike one last week, I am very happy with it. 1500 rounds first range day. Did find a slight issue with hornady defense rounds failing to extract for the first 250 rounds. After 500 rounds i have not had another issue with it extracting. this gun is replacing my current conceal carry. kimber pro carry 2. Great 1911 but for a small guy like me, was hard to keep concealed. As of now im very happy with the concealment of this weapon.

this is the gun that the Archon B is based on I’m not sure why this gun never became more popular. AF Strike One is close to perfection in terms of my expectations of what a full-size duty gun should be like: fits a bigger than average palm right home, robust, accurate. To be honest, I did have a few misfires during the break-in time. Having let a range instructor shoot it, I attribute misfires to my pressing the slide too hard with my oversized fingers. Now that the recoil spring has been changed and the back sight turned to fiber-optic, I literally count days till my next shooting workout with this thing.

Why doesn't people understand height of bore axis in semi auto pistol doesn't influence muzzle rise as most of people think. Only hand full of people in the world knows that fact. I think may be the German SIG engineers know it too. And definitely a Czechoslovakian gun designer of a new pistol and caliber(I forgot the name of it) understands this fact. Only in a revolver height of the bore matters, but not in semi-auto.

When you say you are sponsoring something straight up, it makes it a lot more tolerable than someone who seems embarrassed about sponsoring stuff in their videos. It also actually makes me interested in the other products. I almost bought a Glock a while ago, but I think I might pick up this (Strike One) or a MP 40 Shield. Have you tried and MP 40?

Love the video your reviews on all weapons keeps us new to the sport and art well informed. I also loved that you had a compare pistol to the one you are reviewing that makes a nice mash up for comparison work. However the fact you are using your competition against a slandered for the side by side accuracy testing I am wondering now how it will holp up against a out of the box glock or S&W MP?

GY6vids You might want to consider redoing the accuracy test with a stock Glock barrel instead of the Lone Wolf to get a better idea between the two from their factory configuration.

    • @GY6vids
      @GY6vids  9 років тому +1

yeah i realize that, but I have shot both and they are very similar. This really isn't a which gun is better test, but the Glock is more there for a comparison to something else in its category.

  • @paladin6753

I've found that bore axis doesn't really mean crap. Ergonomics makes more of a difference. I have found the new Sig P320 with a high bore axis to have less muzzle flip and recoil than my glocks and god knows the Sigs bores sit quite high. I'm switching from Glock to a P320 for next year's season.

Would love to see a comparison between the CZ P09 and Arsenal Strike one. I love my P09 and to me it is my most accurate semi auto pistol in my collection next to my 1911. But then again I shouldn't compare a striker fired pistol to a hammer fire. Good review still contemplating.

yeah, low bore axis the the other fire arms is right but what are they after? muzzle flip, muzzle rise, from the recoil? where are those energy gonna go after those recoil spring ran out? compare to walther ccp those make more sense. they use those gas to slow down slide from coming back so hard and have recoil spring light enough just to stripe the next round in to chamber those more science. the price only half of this. if you review and compare this strike one and walther ccp that would be nice

Now I'd like to see a video with a real world competition level shooting challenge done with the gun to show the quality , with two separate shooters taking turns to see what a more general use might be. (say a glock and the striker) A good test might be two shooters who are relatively new to the sport so that 'trained' responses don't effect the results, and the guns get judged for their performance, not the shooters. Swapping guns and doing the challenge over then shows what the guns can do by eliminating the shooter's responses.

The paper that comes with it says 500 round break in period. What are your views on that as I talked to Ifc about that and that was one of their very first mentions was a full break in count. So I see you endorse break through and battle born. I do as well and gave done demonstrations at many events. How does this compare to frog lube and rand clp if you have any use with those two. I have the battle born items as well but have not tried the grease yet. How do you like it. I should get if the x and do a demo if the oil and grease. Altough saying it's grease lends itself to being an organic based item in my mind. Maybe anything thicker than water and solid could be category as grease.
    Thanks.

Well done video and a neat looking gun. I’d like to shoot one to see what it’s all about, but I’m sure I’d stick with my Glocks. They’re not cheap anymore either. There is a reason manufactures are always trying to outdo Glock, the standard to which all try to match.

Hello, I am from Germany and I`m very impressed by your guys vids . The strike one is now to buy here and because I`m a left hand shooter as you are I have some questions to you : how do you manage to shoot a Gen 3 Glock as a lefty : do you have to change your grip when you change your mag or by pressing the slide release ?

I'm still looking for a trigger that when I put my trained finger on it, it don't have creep or a 2 stage YUCK to it. I only have found one close and She found me from Springfield Armory's 45 line! So at this point cudo to Springfield and not a glock want to be! Gloks are awesome but not that for a trained finger.

a question to gun enthusiasts from a non gun enthusiast.
Why does it still have to be gun powder and a firing pin? Why can't some type of focused electrical current be used to push very thin needles out with very little sound at sub sonic speeds?

alvisc2002 I suppose it really doesn't NEED to be primer & powder as you mention. The idea that you mention is something like a rail gun, rail guns require electricity like you mention however unfortunately while our technology has improved drastically in the last 5, 10, 15, 20 years batteries really haven't. As such they can be unreliable, and heavy to boot. Furthermore you mention very thin needles, This makes sense as for penetration you want something narrow as less surface area = less resistance; While penetration is desired but not at that extreme level. Stopping power, and projectile expansion are what causes bullets to do what they do best...Kill. A needle shooting through or into you is going to hurt (also potentially fatal) and be very uncomfortable, ill also say without a shadow of a doubt that i wouldn't want to be on the receiving end. Now looking back to the ancient tech that is primer and powder. It requires no batteries, and functions purely on my own physical input rather than a series of circuits, relays, switches, Capacitors, and magnets.
Ill stick with primer & powder, for a long long time. Railguns and tech weapons are facinating by design they really have no barring in the competition, 2nd amendment enthusiast, or personal Defense fields as of now... and for all i know the immediate future.

alvisc2002 Even assuming the ability to have that in a self contained cartridge, the shelf life would have to be immense to be on par with powder.
