I liked the old E class exterior design especially the lights. The DRL LED’s with the signature eye brow design gave a way to distinguish the type of Mercedes from a distance or in your mirror. One LED was for the C class, 2 for the E, and 3 for the S.
That's what I love about Audi's. Each model has different DRL and they change up the DRL for each model every few year so it's not the same boring LED design.
The last generation was one of the most beautiful Mercs they made in a long time, better proportioned than even the S-class. Don't like this one as much.
Looks like they arent going to drop that hard this time, im looking to lease one and they are cheap. Either that or its a win win for me and the next person to buy one ahah

It looks generic. Mercedes is no longer faithful. Take bmw for example, they have always been faithful, they only make slight adjustments and modifications. Mercedes on the other hand completely changed their design. Maybe it’s because I’m very conservative, but if it broke, don’t fix it. I can distinguish a bmw from anywhere, I can distinguish a Porsche from anywhere, I can distinguish Apple products from anywhere, but I cannot distinguish this car from anywhere. Maybe this design will grow on me (I highly doubt it), but isn’t it your mission to design a car that will make people fall in love at first sight? Please go back to your drawing boards and go back to your roots. If you need any ideas, look back at the slr Mclaren and design a car based off that, or maybe go back to the 90s.

The old Design was a C Class but in Highschool and the S Class is the Collegeversion of the E Class. The prefacelift w205, w213 and w222 were waaaay closer then this one to the A Class. Now it makes it distinct from the c class, the only way you could differentiate the front was by the head lights, now the e class is completely different which is for the better

Many people complain about the rear, but they keep forgetting that W110, W111, W112, W113, W100, W108, W114, W115, W116, R/C 107, W123, W126, W201 and R129 ALSO had HORIZONTAL rear lights and no one complained. The front is unimpressive, I agree about that.

Far too many gadgets for my liking. To me luxury is build quality, fit and finish, comfortable seats, quality materials and refinement. Not an entire Sony catalogue full of electronics.
w212 model 2014-2016 facelift had PERFECT rear and those rear lights still look stunning. w213 (prefacelift) had perfect front. This has perfect nothing, like a gimmicky and cheap, bloated up CLA. Very disappointed.

Its still basically just a facelift, and it looks worse than the old model imo. The old E Class at least had the typical 2 lines to distinguish it from the c Class. The chrome bar going across back (0:20) is already outdated and based off the early 2010s Jaguar XF/ Tesla Model S. In general, chrome is being removed from luxury and sporty cars. I don't think this is going to do well

Somewhere at Mercedes they misinterpreted the CLA as cannibalising the E Class's sales due to design and decided to make the E look like the CLA. BIG mistake. It sold more units due to the lower price ffs..

I know this is kinda unrelated but what is better value A Class Hatch or A Class Sedan/Saloon? Looking to get a new car in summer
w212 model 2014-2016 facelift had PERFECT rear and those rear lights still look stunning. w213 (prefacelift) had perfect front. This has perfect nothing, like a gimmicky and cheap, bloated up CLA. Very disappointed.
2014-2017 s class is still the most beautiful modern mercedes around

Diaz Diaz we still get the S65 for now. That wasn’t what I meant though. I live in the US so we get everything but the diesels. The S550 was recently updated to the S560 but the S450 wasn’t updated to have the inline 6 like in the GLE, GLS, E class, and CLS

@@madebyabdul8777 mate, Mercs have fake exhausts too. Probably every car manufacturer in Germany makes cars with fake exhausts. And still this new E-Class looks horrible. It's basically a bigger A-Class and that steering wheel... It's a fucking eyesore. And this comes from quite a big Mercedes fan. Hope that at least the AMG GT successor will be beautiful.

I was talking about combustion engine cars. And in general just about the design language. How much will they change from their previous design? Its still basically just a facelift, and it looks worse than the old model imo. The old E Class at least had the typical 2 lines to distinguish it from the c Class. Now it looks like the CLS Designer took over and is trying to make all the models look the fucking same again
@@Apoindeed I dont think the type of engine matters. Tesla has nothing over other manufacturers, except for a few easter eggs nobody needs in their infotainment.
The old one looks much better it kinda looks like a stretched a class lol,but at least it doesn't have a massive grill like BMW

The chrome bar going across back (0:20) is already outdated and based off the early 2010s Jaguar XF/ Tesla Model S. In general, chrome is being removed from luxury and sporty cars. I don't think this is going to do well
