I so enjoy and appreciate your attention to detail and the care with which give to everything. I just finished a huge renovation and the walls were refinished, painted and the old walls looked like new. Then the floor installers came in and recklessly left holes, marks, scratches and dents and dirt everywhere. So when I watch you guys - carefully - put things against new walls, I just love it!
Billy, you do a fabulous job. I just wish you could ignore the idiots. Try to tell you how to do your job because you don’t need any help. If you did you’d be asking for it. The fireplace is so worth it even if it’s just a heater that looks like a fireplace. It’s still perfect because it gives warmth and ambience. We love you, Billy.
The thing I love about watching this renovation is that it's clear that for you its a labor of love. I might not make the same design choices as you but I also have different tastes. When its done the Convent will a signature work of art!

I admire the way that you engineer a way to install the fireplace surround so that it fits in a place where it hadn't been made to go. Brilliant craftsmanship. (My husband is an engineer who does these types of fits for other applications, so I can admire what you are doing with a bit more knowledge than the general public!)

A cast iron back plate centered in the fireplace opening and tile surrounding it would nice. Something for the eye to see in the center and maybe create the idea of an old chimney opening being behind?

Nice fireplace! A active fireplace is by far for more work than setting up a decorative fireplace! But it sure turned out nice in combination with the mirror. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

They have quite a huge space there with all the underground and above floors. I'm not going to have time to do any of my own work with so many great channels to follow!

Put a little silicone caulk on the long screw tip. Will make it easier for your drill/screw gun to drive the screw. Save your tools in the long run.
