I loved the "Bob" and really enjoyed your video....from a bowhunter who packed many seasons into the BMW with my two Tennesee Walking horses alone chasing elk (70's and 80's). (From the Benchmark-Agusta side)
I would love to sit down with this gentleman and just listen to his stories, I'll bet you could learn a bunch!! I have been packing 30+ years, although not commercially, but the stories he could tell, and lessons learned would be priceless. Guys like these are few and far in between, you are so lucky to know him, thank you for sharing your friend!
Thank you, for posting this it was great hearing some of Mick's stories. He was my uncle but I never got the opportunity to be around him very often so this video was great for me.
I spent seven summers working in Glacier N.P, and one winter at Big Sky Ski resort. There is absolutely no place like Montana. This Texas dude was in awe from the onset! Keep up the videos and would love to spend some time with ya'll one day!
So awesome to find this video! The Cheff’s are distant cousins. My great grandpa spent his summers as a kid on the Cheff’s farm, those were some of his favorite memories. He and Bud were close, close in age as well. I’ve been reading Bud’s book as well, amazing stories to hear.
as family from michigan (luis's grandson) i appreciate this video. I have always been jealous that my family wasnt from montana. Growing up and hearing grandpas stories, meeting Mick quite a few times at the outdoorarama in novi michigan and hearing his stories, reading uncle buds books and hearing all of the great uncles stories at the family reunions were my best childhood memories. If there are anymore videos of mick or uncle bud or any of buds brothers or sister i would really like some links to them to watch.
Thanks for watching, not sure how many videos are out there. I have a video of one of my sons working for Mick's son Mark. It's called (A guides life in the Bob Marshall Wilderness) also if you look up (Katie Lake-Mick Cheff Sr) you will find a video there.
I'm from libby montana... i Wrestled a mickey chef from ronan in high school. I'm guessing thats a relation? Anyways very cool video and im jealous of the life style.
Micky is a grandson and he actually owns the cheff guest ranch and does outfitting in the Bob. How did the wrestling go against Micky out of curiosity?
Good man, too bad some of his grand kids don’t have the same respect for the animals he did, every year it seems I see Bucky in Irvine sneaking around, I remember years ago Jeff cutting heads off deer, even the Jores, colt poaching elk just to cut heads off, but that younger generation, little mick, Toby and those guys are good kids

Thanks for commenting, love to hear how the videos effect people. The Cheffs are a tough and gritty bunch, with big hearts.
