I love how Nate take notes of everything in his adventures, including this puzzle. Although I can remember most things by heart, nothing beats better than a pen and a notebook.
Nate: there's too many permutations. No there really Isn't. Just turn 1 symbol 4 times, turn next symbol once, repeat. Don't worry avout those paintings.
You just line up the edges every clue you need is all in your journal you can toy with it there once you align all the pointed arrows in ur journal you'll know that u got it right. Last ones a little tricky with the question marks but if u go to ur journal youll know that u just have to turn one to the side n other upside down I think

This puzzle seemed hard at first (hence why I'm in the comments haha) but I realized your journal is the life saver here. Match the patterns on the small sheets of paper in your journal first then replicate that same pattern on the actual puzzle.
tried that but that just confused me even more, mainly because the symbols are so damn hard to see on the sigil that I swore I was doing it right but it still wouldn't work.

Each pirate has a symbol associated to it. Their portraits have a square with connections, one side goes in and the other out. You place each pirate symbol in a way creates a coherent sequence, with no loose outputs or inputs.

Dudee to match up the markings on the journal wit the symbols on the mechanism was hardd asl.. cuz h can barely see it and the markings look nothing like in the journal.. u can hardly see what it is or how many marking there are on the symbols on the mechanism.. I know I can’t be the only one struggling to see that.. they make it where u literally can’t see the markins on the mechanisms at all to line them up shii nearly impossible.. lol 😭🤦🏽♂️🎯 but thank god Thiss was a life saver😭😭🎯.

I was about to quit but then i realized that i had the last one backwards. (Curse the monkey one tho) The paintings were intermediate because some were easy as pie!; then you have those that need a good squint to even notice them. When it comes to the puzzle it self in a sense, i actually had fun solving this one.
Okay I got it. On the bote book there are little triangles. They need to be rotated for the triangles to match for exaple three triangles need to be joined with the other three triangles, some have 2. Just needed to think a bit more. Did it without the video.
