BionicForester19 I don't see any videos on your channel showing me the jk builds you do? This channel has went through most of the build. Not many people do that.
That has to be an awesome feeling man. What a great build. My motivation to finish mine will be making the Easter Jeep Safari gathering in Moab in 2017. We'll see if time and money actually allow that to happen.
I hope you make it on time, I wanted mine done last spring ha. It definitely is a very good feeling, a lot of time and money before this point, it has reminded me why I started the build in the first place.
@@leeoswald6803 Nope. Life went more sideways than it already was after a divorce and losing custody of my child. I then lost my parents and two siblings. I hit a rough patch, but got back up. @@77AbleArcher it’s a shame to hear that man, sorry to hear about you situation. Like you said one foot I front of the other, the hardest step to take was the first one.
Way to go! You beat me. I can't wait until I can drive mine. I have a 3.5" straight pipe on mine that turns down to the ground just in front of rear axle that is maybe 6-7 feet total length from turbo and it sounds similar to yours. I still have some hurdles keeping me from driving. I'm sure you will laugh, but one of them is the ECU. I think the Bruiser modified wiring harness has a short or something. There is no CAN Bus activity at all, thinking it doesn't have power. Hope they just crossed two wires. I still need to tune my VE pump. Put the Prince of Darkness injectors in there and fuel pin and it has a bit of white/blue smoke. If that doesn't fix the smoke, could be timing or valve seals (newly installed seals). Of course it didn't smoke before I changed everything. I love redoing things. My drive line got moved back a bit (2dr) which made me have to put a crazy angle on the rear pinion to get proper drive shaft alignment. That made my upper control arms go out of adjustment range and my frame track bar mount hits the axle since it has move back a ways. Making custom upper arms. Once that is all done I am ready to test drive mine. Wish me luck.
Noah JD I picked the engine for $1,500 transmission and transfer case for $1,000 drive shafts were $800. Miscellaneous such as motor mounts, fuel lines, radiator hoses, exhaust, wiring ECT I'm probably in another $1,500. So $5,000ish.....
Amazing shopping man, I wish I had the know-how to do this swap myself. I'd love to cummins swap my JK. Yours is an incredible price compared to a certain popular company who only does 4BT and want upwards of $30k out the door. Granted, they rebuild the engine so it's "like new", but that's still a steep price.
Drew McCarthy In the beginning of the video I started in third on accident haha. The bottom off the shifter kept catching on the lip of the battery sitting there.
Great work and lots of it too! Did a Mercedes conversion myself. I bet you get lots of on the street questions too, especially when fill'n it up at the diesel pump :)
JohnBoyDeere Thank you! Honestly I haven't had it out much. I was driving it without lights hooked up so I had to bring it back in to finish the rest of it. I haven't had a lot of time for it recently but it's about done.
It's been pretty well finished for the last two years. Life's been busy but I plan on doing a follow up video on it soon hopefully. Probably some wheeling videos also.
Thanks haha... at this point in the build the suspension was very unstable, tires unbalanced, bolts snugged, terrible joints, and I had a nasty brake leak. I rod on her now, rest assured.
MrACV24 Ahh, ok. That makes more sense as to why it was how it was then! :-). Where's a video of her all done now? Very curious to see everything now. Nice sounding though. I bloody love diesels.
@@myronhorvathsk I'm done with everything that's needs to be done to drive it, except hooking my heat exchanger to the heater core lines. Check out video 4 for more info on the drive line. The motor mounts were custom and so is the wiring. I gutted everything then started over instead of trying to figure out how to make the oem wiring work.
It will be, I've been a lazy pile and it's taken forever to get the wiring done. I'm legitimately almost done with the wiring though and there'll be a follow up video soon. I don't have emissions to worry about and my state is pretty lax on it's vehicle laws, things you'd need to consider.

What transmission and transfercase did you end up using?
An NV4500 and a 241 from a second gen ram.
When r we going to see a update on this?
Travis Holcomb Soonish.

I made both sides out of 1/4" plate, welded c channel to them, then used 2nd gen 6bt bushings.
It needs an alignment. Steering wheel is way left.
