Everybody should have gotten a point for jacket. They all looked at it, and therefore inspected it. The task didn't specify it had to be a good or thorough inspection. Though this wouldn't affect the outcome, I'm just being pedantic.
@TPH250290 every task has a trick to it so you could do a different trick years later (secret list hidden in one of the items would be a good one, especially if a tall gets you to open it up).

Most tasks are very good imo (only one I don't think was especially good was the Fred the Swede one). The episode where Judi almost wins is very fun. 14 is a great one too tho. For me all series are great entertainment tbh

It seems to have reached fan favourite status mostly thanks to Fern who ended up being one of the most beloved contestants of all time, and Dara being arguably the most entertaining champion in quite a while helps, but I found the constant dominations by one person almost every episode got tiring quickly and hindered the competition aspect. Also I can’t think of anything series 14 does better than 13; 13 had a few dud tasks such as the dramatic meeting and the infamous tongue one, but I feel like 14 has a lot more skippable ones.

IMO it's a worse series both writing-wise and performance-wise. Anyway, it doesn't really matter, and sorry for ranting. That's being a nerd for you. Taskmaster is a fantastic show.
@@mynameorsutin Geriatrician was the one I've heard. I believe the whole thing about him not being a doctor is the actual joke, started by Alex IIRC. Mike is (or was) registered on the General Medical Council site, which means he was some kind of doctor at one point.

I know it's easy to say how it should have been done from an outsider's perspective, but I really believe, once I saw it burning from the bottom up, I would have started doing the tasks....from the bottom up. I definitely wouldn't have deciphered the code though, so kudos to anyone who could figure it out in the moment.
The most effective element of this task design was to light the fire from the bottom. The fire put everyone on edge but it doesn't look like anyone, with the possible exception of Mike, thought to skip down to the bottom and start moving.

Depends on where you are. Sometimes it really can't be trusted: Flint Michigan, for a well-known example. I don't drink straight tap water in my town, I run it through a filter. It's not because I think it's unsafe, but because it tastes disgusting. I don't judge anyone for not trusting their tap water though.
It is crazy, but it does beg the question: do you really want to force someone to drink a glass of water on a television show? That just seems like bad PR if nothing else.

Bottled water is not the same as tap water in the UK, when they tried to sell Dasani bottled tap water here there was a huge scandal and the company failed. Not that that excuses Jamali spouting an idiotic conspiracy theory even as a joke of course!
Findlay Christie has a few videos called "Asking black and white people the same questions" and in one of them they talked about tap water as well. Basically only the white people said that they drank tap water.

This show does have alot of good "ah why did I overthink this" moments from other contestants seeing something simple like this though. I'd argue some of the better moments were from the rare quick thinking that ends up performing well despite not requiring the most effort

Being a dumb American, I didn't know what some of those words were. I wouldn't have known quaff means to drink something, I don't know what ribena is, don't know what a vole is, etc. Apart from memorizing the tasks in seconds, I'd still have been completely lost.

I absolutely loved this whole season. Allof the contestants were great, and most were recognizable. Last 2 seasons, i feel like i didnt know anyone.
