The mpc2 software allows individual pad level control as well. When I’m making house music I run into that SAME issue with certain drums pieces not punching thru. Each pad has a mixer level slide control but also 4 little knobs to increase the overall db as well to really fine tune those drums piece to hit just right for your track. I actually do it during the beat construction process. Everyone works differently! SALUTE TO ALL THE BEAT MAKERS!
Hey brother, thank you so much for this valuable input. I love hearing different workflows and different techniques as they come in handy when I wanna try something new. Nothing but love and blessings to you brother thank you
Hey Shawn, Man brother this really means a lot and thank you for taking the time to drop by with this feedback. Nothing but love and blessings your way brother. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Yo yo! I just had to go through something similar with my last beat (shared it in your Discord too): I thought I had the kick popping but a buddy from the discord told me it didn't. I had to make that sample trigger another pad with a dry kick that I distorted. I'm writing this before watching btw. I know you'll make it look easy
This is powerful brother, I’m glad there’s some good information going through the channel and this seems very interesting, I gotta give it a shot with how you mentioned on triggering other pads
That "warp" when I accidentally hit it always made me think there was something wrong with all samples and I always reset software, for no good reason. LOL!
I'm curious, you level your samples when you record them in a way that you don't have to normalize them anymore? I've heard of people claiming that you should normalize everything you sample, which didn't seem to work for me. It just ended in too much noise and vinyl crackle in my opinion.
When you normalize you just up the gain, that means that the noise was allready there. What people try to do with analog is to go in as hot as possible to go over the noise. Dont know if that works for you, otherwise the sample source allready has too much noise of its own
No, it’s probably been a handful of times I have ever used the Normalize function since it will just bring my levels as high as It can without distorting, I prefer to adjust my input signal so I can have some headroom while I’m mixing my beat later
It's not because the audio was to high when recording its because of the frequencys clashing. I sort the EQ while making the beat because it sounds like trash in My DAW if the level and EQ is all over the place, I struggle to fix a beat like that after making it.
@@malobeats Basically you could possibly make mastering alot harder if you dont pay attention to frequency clash from the start. I know the MPC one has EQ edit such as high pass and lo pass easily available.
Man I was hoping no one would’ve asked this question lol, I’m using an old battery for my stand right now which is extremely unreliable but I’m definitely on the market for an MPC stand I just haven’t pulled the trigger on one yet.
@@CodeBrotha If you're looking for something to prop your MPC One up at a nice angle, I did a ridiculous amount of searching for that and ended up getting rubber "Harderwill Squat Wedge Blocks." I think they're supposed to help people position their feet in a comfortable way when lifting weights, but they fit perfectly beneath the MPC One without sticking out anywhere or getting in the way of the rubber feet. Those particular ones are pretty expensive, but I like the heavy rubber (and the simplicity of the design) so much that it was worth it for me, and they're a perfect solution for what I was looking for. You can get foam ones for way cheaper though, and I bet they'd work just as well.

Another great lesson from the professor. Nicely done! Bought your sample pack as well. Great content all around!

Another amazing video, Malo. Blessings!
Thank you so much David, it’s always an honor seeing you here 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Another useful tip. So thanks for your video. I always learn something here. And so, i go on watching your different MPC video ! Take care.
Another dope video! Thanks Malo, saludos

@@malobeats poor man's layering :D Aka noob layering!
By the way - I bought your sample pack the other day and the sounds are amazing! Only thing it’s missing are some great bass stabs, maybe in v2?
That "warp" when I accidentally hit it always made me think there was something wrong with all samples and I always reset software, for no good reason. LOL!
Oh man, I can imagine that happening and I also had the same frustration in Ableton since it will turn warp on automatically.

Dope content... really helpful and informative without all the extras... straight to the point...

Send the kick to a sub group if eqing/sidechain doesn’t help.
This is interesting, thank you so much for dropping this information here. I got a try this out. Blessings to you
Im getting into the workflow of just routing kick to submix one with mother ducker input on the inserts and go from there.....
What's the stand you have your MPC on?

@@malobeats lol I got all excited that someone had found the perfect stand! 😂

but why dont you just record the sample at a good lvl then just turn it down ?
I’m a noob but I’ll give this a shot…Maybe the higher you record the more likely you’ll get distortion or artefacts which no levelling can fix
Why is your MPC changing color from white to black and vice versa? 🤔
That's MALO magic! ;)
