    Billy's cross field floods take so long to develop. You would think our RB screen game would be a point of emphasis considering they, along with Tre, are our best offensive players in the open field. Watching this is very frustrating. Imagine how the coaching staff feels during film study. Sickening how close we are at times.

    I have so many questions. Why would you run an orbit to the short side of the field. Does he not think about this stuff when he’s calling plays?

    The play calls once again made no sense he came out hot 1st drive then started getting to cute which killed us and that 4th down call made no absolute sense this is why I be saying we need to go back to a spread offense 😑😑 thank god my Miami dolphins has a fun offense to watch

      That’s what he’s trying to run schematically 🤣🤣. He’s trying to run the Miami offense let him bring in an OC that can do it

      billy isnt that good on the fly. first drive is scripted which is why it is so much more efficient than the rest.

    refs didnt help, fumble in our own zone didnt help, blocked punt didnt help, and missed fourth downs didnt help but ultimately the gators are still struggling to execute outside the swamp. didnt expect an upset or anything, i just wished to see the execution resembled anything of vandy and sc. i get that georgia's defense is way better, just wanted more efficiency from this team and to see arlis involved more.

    In my opinion I don't think on that 4th down play Georgia's defense was prepared for a pass play. I think they were just saying that we don't need to bring extra guys. There d line alone can handle whatever sneak or run Florida wants to bring. In other words they were saying we are more physical than you!

      I think they were preventing the home run and were willing to give up a first down but not a TD. (They were not sellling out to stop the run)

    We won’t be competitive until we can win the LOS. Looking at recruiting don’t expect that to change just yet either at least OL wise.

      @MJBFresh Рік тому +2

      I agree. If we land Seaton from IMG it will help, but it still leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to winning the LOS on the offensive side of the ball. Definitely going to need to reach into the portal and find some instant impact pieces for next year.

    Quick release plays needed. Looking forward to Mertz having more experience and chemistry with his receivers. Great review as always, thanks. Do you see the potential for Lagway running the dual QB as being a big step up with Napier's play calls?

    In the 4th & inches play (28:40), Could Etienne have rolled to his right, tried to get the edge & run off? There was only 1 defender on the right side of the field, as I can see.

    • @saldiven2009
      @saldiven2009 Рік тому

      Play was designed to roll to the left and pass to the TE crossing the formation. Everything was moving left when the play was blown up too quickly to reverse field.

      He was doing his job within in the play and immediately he had a defender in his face.

    Remove all RB/WR pass plays from the playbook. If anyone throws the ball, it’s Mertz.
    Are we going to be a team that relies on gimmicks going forward?
    Napier calls these plays even when we ARENT 14+ point underdogs.

  • @FloridaEvoX
    @FloridaEvoX Рік тому

    A comment and a question.
    Imo, the Gators with Napier are very predictable. Napier needs to fix that.
    And why isn't our best running back playing more? Etienne is clearly the better runner.

    • @acct5910
      @acct5910 Рік тому

      He can’t pass block worth shit.

    • @FloridaEvoX
      @FloridaEvoX Рік тому

      @@acct5910 How often does Florida rely on the RB to pass block? They are almost always a check down.

    • @TheGatorNationFootballPodcast
      @TheGatorNationFootballPodcast  Рік тому +1

      He is definitely struggling to pass block. On a team with a bunch of playmakers you could afford to not take the pass pro risk, but we are not that kind of team, he needs touches

    Our CB’s are atrocious, S’s too but they are young. If Billy thinks he’s just gonna beat UK and UGA at their own game it would be a flawed goal, we need elite trench recruiting and something dynamic and creative otherwise we’re years behind and will continue to play catch up forever. This is the same mistake Muschamp made.

  • @austinmacon3724
    @austinmacon3724 Рік тому

    I think he just lacks creativity in his plays. The plays are fine if they were more complex. I’m not sure why he makes it so simple but if had extra layers in his plays they would be fine. If he can get someone to run this offense but make it more complex we would be good.

    • @TheGatorNationFootballPodcast
      @TheGatorNationFootballPodcast  Рік тому

      Often times, the simplest path to success with a play is best. But to arrive at a simple truth, you have yo have a clear idea of what your opponent is doing and how best to attack it.

  • @kentilleryjr5364

    Frustrating. Reminds me of Nussmeyer calling plays. Even when he dials up good ones he doesn’t go back to them enough.
    And how can we give more coaching resources to Oline and that’s still our worst unit??!!

  • @cryptonbarton6717
    @cryptonbarton6717 Рік тому +5

    Montrell is throwing his hands up because the UGA defender just stuffed his hand in his facemask to get off the block. He wanted a hands to the face call. You don’t want to blame the refs, but they played a role in the L

    • @dcnats92
      @dcnats92 Рік тому +1

      I rarely put an L on the refs. As James said, you need to play well enough through 60 that you overcome any bad calls. But we got hosed on some consequential plays - plays that should have negated losses and extended drives for us.
      But it is what it is. Main issue in this game were our OT’s. Need to really recruit/portal the hell out of that position. They’re a huge liability.
