- Georgia is moving forward with Carsen Beck as their starting QB, but their backup Brock Vandagriff is one of the most insane QBs in college football. He is one of the best QBs in Georgia High School football history, was a five star recruit and checks every single box, but he is still the backup. He's the best quarterback to ever play for Kentucky. I think that's why they got gavin. He will only be with us for one year.
As a Kentucky fan, he was my #1 for our portal QB. So pumped we got him! He has the mobility we missed this year at the position. And a cannon.
As an Auburn fan I was pissed we didn't go after him harder. A 5 star QB with a lot of upsides and he grew up an Auburn fan. like wtf lol. You guys got a very good one and I think people are currently overlooking Kentucky.

I think he is a class act as well as a excellent QB I hope we get to see him start for the Dawgs next year.
Dawgs schedule this year sets up a good opportunity for Brock to get some playing time. His one advantage over Beck is that he has the ability to extend plays as Stetson did and that's something Kirby puts a high value on.
No it isn't - Kirby has been clear on what he puts value on, which is decision-making. It wasn't Stetson's mobility that won him the starting job - that was just the gravy. It was his decision-making.
I think it was both but that’s just my opinion which I kind of feel is what this comment section is for but it’s nice to get it straight from a member of the coaching staff so thanks for that
@@RaiseTheBar4Truth Nobody is overlooking him. We just have better options. That's no knock on the young man at all. But this is the premier program in the country, so competition is tight. Love to see the local kid win the job, have no doubt about that. But he needs to actually win it, which won't be easy, and he certainly hasn't done as of yet.

Beck can extend plays and avoid the rush as well. Much better athlete than he is given credit for. Can sling it on the run as we saw last year. Brock is a better runner but that doesn’t mean Beck is a statue. Beck is the better passer.

As a UK fan, really interesting to see this video now that he is transferring to UK. Despite his high school resume, I was kind of wondering if it wouldn't have been better to get someone who has more experience at QB at the college level even if his ceiling wasn't as high as Vandagriff (someone like Will Rodgers from Miss. St.). Sounds like just got beaten out in a narrow competition by another elite QB who had been in the system longer. Very excited to see what he can do at UK next year!

Even though Beck is the starter, these first like 4 games would be good if like the 2nd half to use Brock if they have a big lead that way he gets experience and maybe keep him at Georgia.

Looked terrible in the Spring game and played 2a high school ball. Doubt either backup will ever play a meaningful down for Georgia with Dylan coming in next year. UGA also chose him over Caleb Williams.

Every year it seems they are always this way. Last year they were cussing Bennett for coming back after winning a Natty. We have some delusional fans who are lousy couch coaches that think they know more than Kirby and the entire UGA coaching staff.
I think he is the safety net for Carson Beck. If Beck doesn't play well or is injured the job is Brock's. I also think next year he is the starter, Gunner Stockton transfer, Raiola is the back up, and Puglisi is the third string (red shirt).

This QB is hands down one of the best weapons in the Bulldog roster. He just has the look and the talent to move GA into Natty 4 if not Natty 3.
I hated to see him go but Beck decided to stay and we need to make a serious run for the championship in 2024
The only knock is his delivery is kinda slow. Takes a awhile to wheel that big arm around. Dude is accurate and can throw on the run. Also a cannon of an arm. Glad to see him at UK.

Hope Brock stays with UGA...he could start anywhere else. He is the most versatile of the three QBs. Strong runner to back up his cannon arm.

Yes, Carson is capable and knows Kirby's play system. But i am also one of the minority who remains a bit skeptical until he runs up against a serious defense this season which he has not. I expect Kirby will give BV more snaps as the schedule intensifies. Riola will be a huge game changer for the Dawgs.
Carson is good but the mobility gonna come in play eventually, he can move around but as far as running I don’t know. Took Brock a lil while to learn the college game. Gunner ain’t bad either, we’re gonna find out soon enough
Beck processes faster than Stetson Bennett and Brock Vandagriff, thus he will be able to locate his targets and get the ball out more quickly. Carson Beck will not take very many sacks, plus he is more athletic than people give him credit. He led his high school baseball team in stolen bases. Carson Beck is the real deal

@@obi-juantacobi8552hope neither one leaves. Riola has to learn the playbook and get up to SEC speed. He won't just get the QB1 designation. It has to be earned . Fields found that out and walked away from competition. Kirby tells everyone they go after , at UGA you earn your spot and have to work to keep it. If you aren't willing to do the work and grind, maybe UGA isn't the place for you. Bear Alexander found that out. Now he's a superstar on a team with a leaky seive for a defense.
When he initially committed to UGA, I cannot remember anticipating the eventual debut of a starting QB in Red and Black more than Brock...sadly that looks like that will will never happen

This is no shade to Vandergriff at all he's great, but I think Gunner is the QB with the most potential. I'm basing that mostly on what they did in Highschool tho. So who knows
Brock has a better arm but I have to agree gunner is a more talented Stetson Bennett in my opinion though unless Carson has a huge year and leaves for the nfl with the 2 highly rated QBs that are committed right now either Brock or gunner will more than likely transfer

If Carson does not go pro after this season and somehow Brock slips away from UGA to the transfer portal, I will probably never forgive Kirby Smart.

Especially after the past two seasons, I see no reason to second guess Kirby's choices. The goal is getting to ball across the line and if Brock becomes a part of it we'll all be screaming behind him!
I think Kirby has gone an excellent job with IGA qb’s after a questionable start.
Brock hasn't even secured the QB2 role. He did okay in the spring game, and I remember when his team played Gunner Stockton's team in high school. I vividly remember saying, this Gunner kid is outplaying Brock. This is prior to Gunner eventually committing to UGA.
As a UGA fan, my level of comfort and confidence with Carson is very high. Now when Carson leaves, I'm not as confident in Brock taking over the reigns.
To be fair though gunner was on a much better team people forget Brock played at a 1A private school there wasn’t much talent around Brock and I highly doubt Brock is at Georgia next season

Dont forget he played for prince avenue and that is a lower classification in High School Football its different as a qb you have to know every thing a runningback as Hershael Walker was you run the ball and block and catch passes thats different than playing quarterback ok.
I want some of the stuff you're smoking. Brock Vandagriff isn't "insane". He is smart, sane and competent. Gunner Stockton is another smart, sane and competent QB on the Dawgs roster.
As long as Georgias offensive line holds up and they have a great running game i have no woories at all for Carson Beck ok.

When I first saw Brock Vandergriff play for Georgia when he did get playing time he mostly ran and I saw him run like his hair on fire if he keeps doing this and look to pass first instead of run he's going to get hurt and he will lose valuable time with learning to be an SEC Quarterback ok he will be a smart QB but read defenses first so he can change offenses if the defenses change ok.

I've said since day 1, why hasn't he played like the 5-star he was?? Wouldn't it stand to reason that if he did, it would sit everybody else down & there would be no question who the best is? Not hating on him AT ALL - would LOVE to see all our QBs get playing time. Other schools alternate QBs successfully, why can't we? That gives them game time experience when it matters - meaningful snaps. Some players either shine under pressure or crack. Herschel didn't impress the coaches during practices that much, but he flipped the switch at GAME-TIME! Ready for the season - 1 more week!! GO DAWGS!!
They all got some playing time last year . And they will all have significant playing time this year. Beck will be on the bench halfway through the 3rd qtr in most of the games.

I think if we win the NCAA championship, I think Carson will come back and if that happens Brock will be in the portal. These days when you can get paid in college, plus the fact that college football on a great team is much more fun than pro football on an avg team. Also, the temptation after all that sitting and then becoming a star, makes me believe that if money is not the be all and end all, Beck will come back

I hope this young man stays. I am in the great minority who has doubts about Carson. Carson no matter what happens will always be a DGD. He has it all EXCEPT for quick feet. And none of the current QB's have proven to have Stetson's Large Brass Set. But then again players like Bennett come along SO rarely. Those who do not realize that are not only not worth listening to - they are to be avoided - stupidity can be contagious.

Im sorry but after watching the spring game it was clear that Beck was the one that looked ready to play and made all the throws. Nothing against Brock i kmow he has alot of talent and will only get better over time but as of today Beck looks ready.

I don't care how good you are. You have to WORK at Georgia. The coach is obviously loyal.....Brock will see playing time this year. Little Ray might be all that but, he will be at GA next year and starting positions aren't handed out free.... Ray needs a couple of years... His time will come!
