The mirror next to the bar could be used to cover the Home breaker box and also to last minute check if you are ready before going out. I think is always useful to have a mirror and a shelf at the entrance. It would make more sense to me to display art in the wall where the mirror is rn. The thing with the living room is that all of the furniture is above the ground level, which makes it appear cluttered and takes the cosiness out of the space. Maybe a sectional sofa facing the wall to frame the space would look nice and a statement chair on the side (back to the bar-kitchen section). In the blank wall I strongly suggest a library where you can center the tv and display books, table lamps, your records and your turntable (since the kitchen is not working for them), so this area is for launching, listening to music, watching music videos etc.

Paint the chalkboard the wall color. Make the bar area on that mirrored counter. It’s weird the record player and records in the kitchen. You need plants to warm the place up.
Man so much respect for talking about the iron working. I couldn’t relate more, been doing high rise siding in Toronto for a while now. It feels impossible to change paths sometimes but you’re living proof. Thank you for the inspiration 🫡
Bro if you don’t like it you gotta gtfo. Life is too short to be miserable. Obviously take your time and be responsible but there’s so much more to life. I found my career by process of elimination pretty much. I believe in you! Let me know in a few years how it’s going I bet you’ll be laughing.
Such a nice place B! The one thing I would definitely change is the mirror in 8:36. Maybe a full length one... Or keep this one but hang it in the middle at least, my OCD was going crazy 😭😂 And if your records would fit in them, I would put the wooden shelf unit you have upstairs in the bedroom hallway downstairs where the bar cart is. Record player on top records below! And I would do the bar area at its original place!
Great ideas! The mirror in the middle looks so off believe it or not, it just seems too small for the wall, our plan was to hang a couple photos to the right of it to balance it out but we haven't gotten around to it! The records on the wooden shelf is a great idea! Although it's too narrow for the record player. Some really thought provoking reccomendations though I think i'm gonna play around a bit with both of those areas over time. Check back to see how it all comes together!
Decor is very personal and unique to every individual, the only advice I will give you is on your sound system! If you are going to invest in vinyl that is proven to have a warmer sound please upgrade your system to get close to that analog sound and justify “playing records” Consider an amplifier and a pair of bookshelf speakers maybe a small subwoofer. Or a pair of powered/active bookshelf but full range speakers instead of desk top ones. Klipsch, Elac, Edifier… to mention a few. Get your albums off the bar unblocking the mirror and look for a modern bin to hold your albums perhaps on a different area! Otherwise the loft looks great, I enjoyed the video!
Good suggestions. New speakers are a low priority but they’re definitely on the list. Also funny you mentioned moving the records I moved them yesterday. Check back for an updated tour, a lot has changed!
I totally agree, definitely in the dining room! The living room is begging for art. But with a piece that large it's such a commitment and we LOVE using our projector on the big wall, especially with the uncertainty of how our space will be on any given day it seems like a really anchoring choice. I'd rather get a tattoo than commit to a massive piece of art right now lol.

You could 1000% put a different peel and stick wallpaper or contact paper situation on the wall in your bedroom (and I hope you do because right now it’s giving 2008 rustic barn on Pinterest). And outside of that I would love to see that blue accent wall in the office painted over. Either to match the other walls or just a better color for your style/space. I definitely think the office needs more substantial shelves. I like the open concept too but your background wall just looks a little bare (in the I just moved in way not the intentional minimalism way). And then for the chalkboard, you could repaint over it with chalkboard paint for a fresh start. Or take a piece of chalk and use the long edge to apply chalk evenly over the whole thing and then you should be able to erase after that, like a priming step. In your living room I like the idea of a smaller couch facing the wall so you can keep some of your cool smaller chairs and seats.
Love the tour and your new home! You could ck Google on how to remove the chalkboard paint & or paint over it. The coffee bar & records area is great. I would move the records into a tower unit or Eyocal vinyl rack so that your countertop doesn't look cluttered! Then, move the music equipment & storage under the stairs. The bar cart s/b where the books are in your living room. Ikea has a tower bk case for your books. Article has sponsored ytubers previously. You should reach out. They have awesome sofas. Move your TV to the other wall & hang your art on the wall above the bar cart's new location. Place the chair w/ ottoman & bookcase in the area where the tv is now, & add a floor lamp. Depending on your budget, Breville has an awesome countertop convection oven that's large enough to hold a turkey. You could place it on your kitchen counter near the cooktop (for ventilation). It's about $399 US.
You have incredible ideas. Never thought about the bar cart in the living area. We did have the chair and ottoman at the bottom of the stairs with a light previously as well. There are just so many ways we can style the space, our main priority is having it modular so we can always change it up depending on the season or our mood.
