    Watching this video just as I’m about to start attaching the lining to the main fabric by joining the collars.. don’t think I could have worked it out without watching your sew along so thanks you for doing this ! Just one plea... in future videos... could you possibly slow the film down a bit just at key points. I have found it a bit tricky to catch what your doing eg. where you’re attaching that square of fabric to hold the lining in place under the arms. Looking forward to finishing and wearing my Heather 😊

    Love it! Why does the back pattern piece not have interfacing along its entire length? When and how to make understitching? To be a more lasting look after washing... Before joining at the hem?

    • @FridayPatternCompany
      @FridayPatternCompany  3 роки тому +1

      This pattern is designed to be unstructured so there is just some body added around the shoulders on the back and not the body. If you wanted to add interfacing all the way down you totally could. I don't quite understand your question about understitching. You want to add it to the hem? Because of the way the hem is turned you don't need understitching to prevent the lining from popping out. If you are talking about topstitching/tacking the hem in place that is covered in the instructions and is done in the last step! You can also email questions to hello@fridaypatterncompany.com

    Hi, just bought this pattern and was wondering if the interfacing is very necessary? I dont have any interfacing fabric or something that can be glued on with heat. Is there a substitue, or can I leavev the step out?

    • @FridayPatternCompany
      @FridayPatternCompany  3 місяці тому

      Hello, the interfacing is going to add body and shape to your blazer. Without it you will have a more unstructured shape which isn't necessarily bad! It also depends on your fabric - if you are working with a sturdier fabric it doesn't matter as much. You will want to interface the area where you sew your button/buttonhole. If you don't have fusible interfacing you can sew some in. I suggest googling sew in interfacing or email us and we can send you some tutorial links. hello@fridaypatterncompany.com

    • @adixon6237
      @adixon6237 2 роки тому

      I’m making this at the moment and went with G700 for the cotton woven and vlieseline 609 for the knit interfacing. I followed the Vlieseline website instructions for both as hadn’t used either of these interlining before and ironing them on took ages so allow plenty of time plus the iron on interfacing instruction is easy to miss in the paper instructions.

    • @FridayPatternCompany
      @FridayPatternCompany  3 роки тому

      You could finish them but it isn't super necessary as the raw edges are stitched down inside the pocket. If you were using something with a loose weave that unravels a lot you would want to finish them!
