I must mention technically brandon was brainwashed by his ship from the moment he landed. He was just a kid that wanted to be good but, whoever sent him to earth had different ideas.
The spaceship is the main problem as it is like the saiyan pod in DBZ (when it mind controls gohan). Once it triggered Brandon and instilled the values of its species into him it was basically over. I've never seen this movie before but I watched a video about it, from Film Comics Explained. He said that the director doesn't want to reveal too much about what the boy actually is. But the most that the director has said is that the boy comes from a race of powerful planetary conquerors. And to continue their conquest, they send the newly born to other planets, so they eventually rule it.
Well, to beat Brightburn I think the true key is the spaceship. That's what triggers his desire to destroy humanity to set it up for his kin to come take over, it's what can hurt him, it's what he's obsessed with. Even if they do a set up to make it look like they found it all over again, turning THAT over to authorites who can take it to a secure location and likely block out or muffle its signal to Brandon would have been one heck of a help.
@@MartinFinnerup alright sure but everything has a melting point. The government could probably just use a rocket engine on it and it would probably melt. Also it is weak enough to break a piece off with your hands if I remember the movie right. If those don’t work even after turning the ship into tiny pieces we already are doomed.
Here's the issue with the " Get rid of the object buried in the barn to head off any transformations" idea. The parents don't know anything. They have not seen the movie. For all they know the object in the barn is necessary for their adopted son's development, or his very life. For all they know it is his only link to his origin and could someday prove important, or vital to him and his life. The narrator has the benefit of hindsight, having seen the movie, and knows that the result is bad. The characters in the movie do not have this benefit.
That's everyone of these videos. I mean when he's saying this about the ship, the parents aren't even necessarily aware that any "transformation" has happened or is happening or even how it will culminate. He acts as if every character has the third person (mostly) omniscient viewpoint the audience does every single time. Dude works off of so many tenuous assumptions too, saying shit like "the parents should have contacted people that had dealt with aliens like this before" at one point as if that was something to be expected to a degree.
A proper bio weapon is a better choice if you don't care about the locals. Why risk the members of your species instead of just throwing some actual WMD's if your species is advanced enough to cross the vastness of space?

I always thought lex luthor was right …he just went mad with power after a while that was his downfall but I believed in his philosophy of Superman being an over powered Alien that could rule humanity at anytime he wanted. Lex was right and Batman knew this too.. Superman has emotions like any other human and that’s what makes him too dangerous not to have a back up plan to take take him out immediately if he ever turned on the world. In the real world we would need a person like Lex Luther …Superman saves humanity and Lex is trying to preserve humanity’s future from an unchecked Super Alien
Heck, they wanted to know how to beat Brightburn. Bring literally any of the characters y'all mentioned. Omni-Man, Superman, and Homelander (maybe) could beat Brightburn
@icebearnicho8256 Homelander should for sure win. He's got better speed feats and his HV is clearly more powerful based on the freezer scene. Also benefits from super-senses to a greater degree. Plus he's more experienced with his powers.

Personally, I would’ve collected a few shards of the spaceship to test. Perhaps some weapons can’t be made, such as bullets for example. Especially considering that the metal used was designed to absorb the heat of breaking through the atmosphere. However, considering that iron itself is a common metal found in space, especially asteroids that are recovered and shown in science expos, I wouldn’t be surprised if the spaceship itself consisted of a mixture of the alien metal and iron. This means that the metal shards Could become rusted. This may also mean that it would take awhile to sand out. However, I would be adding bits of this rust to his food in order to slow him down. Typically, when humans breathe in large amounts of rust, which will cause respiratory issues. Meaning that I’ll need to use a mask to sand down the rust as well. However, if I notice that Brandon is coughing a lot more and showing signs of wheezing, this shows that his immune system is having trouble. This may also result in slowing down his overall speed due to the amount of energy he’d need to use, which would weaken his other abilities. Same as when someone gets a cold. As soon as the hand had been cut, I would’ve handed the blood sample over to scientists who can experiment in it to further study and test on the sample to see what else may affect it. It’s something Brandon would be unaware of, and the scientists could send me the results through emails labeled as spam. This way, even if I’m suspected of conspiring against him, he’d be looking up the keywords Brandon, alien, results, etc. he would have no results, and he’d skip over the actual email that reads that my car’s extended warranty has expired. This way, I’m getting the information I want, and the scientists are getting the research of a lifetime.

Tbh brightburn could just kill them all in seconds due to his superspeed and strength, also even if you put his spaceship under water it could still effect him, think about superman, even tho he could be half way across the earth he would still hear the signal due to super hearing

Trust me, if I was the father, I could beat him. I would figure that if he came from that spaceship, there would he a higher possibility that the metal of that spaceship would be able to harm Brandon. Then just wait till the kid is all tuckered out. Then when he is at his vulernable, I would just use a sharp metal piece of the ship, hoping it will do its job.

In all the Superman stories, red Kriptonite turns Superman berserk. So in this case, since 14:08 shows a red glow of light, that has got to be red Kriptonite in a spaceship stashed in the barn. So this has got to be a what if story of alternate Superman being effected by a red Kriptonite as a child. Even if he is not named Clark Kent, but still living a same lifestyle. So it can prove that if this were to happen to Clark at his early age, that red Kriptonite will eventually turn him into evil Superman. Red Kriptonite does after all create a yang version of him.

I think it would’ve made for a more interesting turn in the movie if Brandon’s teacher was also the girls mom. The teacher likes Brandon and could be more of an encouraging influence, but once he hurts her daughter she flips and tries getting him kicked out of school. The daughter having a destroyed hand means she needs to make more money for her daughter, and then Brandon can come around, demanding he be forgiven to feed into his psychopathy. When that doesn’t work, Brandon kills her.

Considering "Brandon" exhibits all the same abilities as Kal-El/Superman he must also have the same weaknesses like Kryptonite... Like RED Kryptonite: Green is radioactive and will kill him, Red Kryptonite changes his personality basically turning him evil. That red glow from his pod could be a malfunction irradiating the boy with red Kryptonite. Perhaps this Universe's Zod sabotaged the pod's linguistic computer or whatever and helped in driving the kid insane as he might have turned out into a generally descent kid instead of the adopted child from Hell... I'm really hoping for a sequel to explain what was said in the last scene about other "members" of a future evil version of Justice League in this universe...
Well, Brandon isn't Kryptonian. Also, he doesn't share all the same abilities as Superman. For example, he lacks super hearing and apparently freeze breath. This universe also isn't Marvel or DC, so it's like Invincible and the Boys where it's within it's own universe.
@@controlman7490 Well, in all Superman stories it took more time for some abilities to manifest than others, these could also have psychological reasons as with for example his flying ability in Smallville. Perhaps they want the audience wonder "What the heck?"?! I do not know no one does...
Just bc he has fingerprints doesn't mean that he's in the system. The movie says that he's never been sick and in a small town like that people likely wouldn't even question how he was adopted. His aunt works in the school and they likely live in a place that doesn't care about vaccination papers or where the aunt can wave it off. All that to say that running his prints would come up as nothing. Even if he was a suspect bc he's too young and has only very recently started down the criminal path he wouldn't have been booked.
If they ever make a sequel to this movie it should have a group of heroes try and stop Brightburn, but get decimated and he succeeds in conquering the planet.

Or just destroy it like scrap it or melt it down

“Kyle really needs to get in touch with someone in this universe”
Me too, Kyle, me too 😔
Personally, I would’ve collected a few shards of the spaceship to test.

And wouldn't the authorities get involved either way. I have so many questions that I know I shouldn't because there's no answers
It can be done. A lot of kidnapped kids get papers with real name. Also, I think you can also get away using fake papers.
Best way to beat brightburn just stay on his good side
That kid would make my day brighter!
Then it would make it darker
Then you will burn.

still surprised we haven't gotten a sequel with one of the other justice league parodies they set up at the end of this movie. also always kind of thought this is more what if goku was evil than superman. at least a nice mix of both.
Show him love and compassion and teach him to value others. Nothing else that can be done... he's superman...you can't physically harm him.
