Thank you! Yeah, I was taught to place rock before sand to ensure the rock is in contact with the glass. I was a little concerned at first but the glass seemed to hold up really well. Sometimes we forget how thick and strong glass is.
@@paulbromell8018 Thanks for your suggestion Paul. Just curious, would you still put sand, then rock, then water even if your rocks have been pre-cycled? I would think exposing the rocks to air could potentially kill some of the beneficial bacteria especially if you plan to take your time to aquascape. In my case, my rocks have been cycling for 6 months so I made the decision to put water in first to ensure the rock stayed wet the entire duration.
Rock should always be set on the glass. Rock, sand, water and never dump the sand from high up. One clump too big and you will crack the bottom pane of glass.

Thanks Dillon! Yes, I'm surprised how fast it cleared up. I wasn't even using the Clarisea or UV Sterilizer. Just the socks that the sump came with. Glad you did the aquascape as much as me. I'm glad I decided to change it up.
@@PetmaluLife definitely, it's good to give corals space to grow and fish space to swim but also hide 😊 I think Jake Adams mentioned in one of his videos we're so focused on aquascaping we forgot we're keeping corals and fish, not rocks 😂 Anyway looking forward to next vid!

I love this episode. Looks amazing. Will you have access to the back once its filled or will you unfilled to slide it? Do you wear shoes in that nice house?
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I could access the back it case of an emergency situation but it will be covered with cabinetry so it would be pretty hard to get to. LOL. I'd say I wear my shoes 50/50.
NICE!!!!!!!!!! was hoping this was the custom cable video......LOL i dig the scape. did you end up using the ClariSea to clear the tank up? cuz man that is crystal clear. how long did it take to clear up?
Sorry I didn’t see the second part. No, actually I didn’t have the ClariSea on but I did have the filter socks the that came with the trigger system in. Yeah, I was surprised how clear it got after 24 hours. It got clear pretty fast, maybe in just 12 hours.
Why did you need to have the tank at 78 before you put the salt in? It looked like you had scaped it before you put the water in what happened to that?
Hi! Thanks for watching. Tropic Marin recommends mixing salt water at 77-78 degrees. I worked on my aquascaping months before I finished building my tank so decided to cycle the rock in a brute container. I ended up putting the cycled rocks into my tank after 7 months of cycling. I filled my tank up with water first because I did not want to kill any beneficial bacteria on the rocks when I put them in the tank. Some people put the rock in before they put water and then cycle the rock directly in the tank. Since I knew I was still planning a few things to do to the tank, I opted to curl outside the tank and in a separate container. Hopefully this helps answer you questions. 🤙🏽
@@PetmaluLife how did the cycling the rock in the trash can go for you? I have been doing it for a few months. My buddy gave me some live rock from breaking down his tank. I bought some of dry stuff and threw them in buckets with heater and pump for months.
