This is so insanely helpful. Especially the explanation of the split hip to lower your level and the lefty gripping punishment. Cuz I struggle so much with lefty's. I also really appreciate what u said about taking opportunities while still hunting for your star technique
thank you for the amazing content you put , big thanks from India , i'm a jiu jitsu guy but your teachings help a lot for the game! please dont stop posting this and the olympian rant episode was amazing
re 44.50 and why we start with ippon seio with the arm/sleeve grip -- it comes from old jujutsu, where (among other things) you are defending against a blow to the head by parrying the blow, getting a grip and throwing. See how it's done in nage no kata as an example.
Another seoinage workshop PLUS an uchimata/haraigoshi workshop? Coach Travis, you're spoiling us! :) Just wanted to let you know that I did an uchikomi band workout today and I used the belt trick for the split step seoi. I had no idea my step was that shallow. That tip really helped. Thanks much.
Hi Travis another amazing workshop. Yes please go with what you want to do in respect to your newaza workshop. I am interested in how you set the collar grip into a choke when countering off a seoi nage attempt by opponent.
Oh bro I watch the course from the begining, holy moly you had been answered all my question from the start! And the tips of the ending of course were very very useful! Next time Newaza course? Hell yeah! Uchimata/harai goshi course? What do you think Travis?
It would depend on where your training. In America it would be wrestling since it’s at a hire level and it will tuffen you up! But in Europe where wrestling is not that strong I would say judo.
Thank you Travis! , have you trained against a high level wrestler or olympian wrestler? . Who would get the most throws/takedowns?. Without gi, regular training clothes like your no gi videos.
Travis, you are truly a legend for giving us "young judoka" all this material to improve our game and approach mastery.
Arigato Sensei. 🙏
There is so much to learn in this video ! Uncanny.
Thank you a bunch, mister Stevens.
First time tuning in appreciate the lesson

You should check out my Newaza Mastery DVD on Judofanatics.com
Travis Stevens just realised I have it, thanks for reminding me lol
I'm super late to the game, but I'd love a newaza course!
Have you seen my Newaza Mastery course on www.judofanatics.com?
Ne-waza show was awesome. Way too little ne-waza in today's competition judo, but you can find a lot of highlights for Travis.
This was amazing, thank you Travis. Is judo or wrestling better for self defense in a one on one fight and the other guy has a tshirt and jeans?
