As a kid I used to have shooting competitions with my little brothers shooting stuff like plastic toy soldiers and toy cars and even matchsticks with our BSA cadet major, but as life went on and we all got married and had separate lives and almost never met up even though we all live within a couple of miles. After watching one of your 1st posts (Redwolf V RM8) I went out and bought an RM8 and invited my brothers round to have a go which they both jumped at the chance to go back to our childhood, since then we had a lot of fun shooting airguns and meet every week. This means a lot to me as my youngest brother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's so has limited time in our world but for now he so enjoys our Sunday meetings .... This would not have happened if I hadn't randomly stumbled across that early video of yours so I just wanted to say thanks for reminding me how much fun a bit of plinking can be ..... Keep up the good work .... I still have the BSA cadet major :) 1955-1962 build :)

Andrew. I have read your comment around ten times. Out of everything I have done since launching the channel, your comment is the most important thing to me. I enjoyed many says shooting with my brother, my sisters and my friends. These times were magical. And shooting does evoke those feelings again, it is amazing. To think that something I had a role in has brought some of that into someone else's life is a lovely thought. The things you mention are far more important than any gun or pellet. Thank you for such a thoughtful and humbling message.

I just recently got back into air gun shooting after many years of not even handling one. I have just recently purchased the RM8 in .22 from my local gun smiths and firing it on the range at a gun club i've joined, i can get groupings of 7-8 shots bang on the size of a 5p coin at 35-40 meters. The rifle is quite happy to fire upto around 180 shots before a recharge. My only niggle is the RM8's "Auto Safety" catch engages every time you reload and i know it can be deactivated but means stripping the gun and the cocking handle on my RM8 keeps working loose which i've had it back to the gun smiths twice now about this issue and they've tried "Lock Thread" but it's still doing the same at working loose. My RM8 is fitted with a "Hawke" scope and front end suppressure, it's so quiet and damn accurate though.

I'd suggest using the different pellets will have an impact on the outcome of the results. I'm fairly sure the rm8 would shoot the jsb well so may have been more appropriate to use same pellets. The heavier bisley magnums are more effected by gravity and less by the wind than the jsb. However from such an expensive gun in the FX not the best results. I think the fac version will show it's potential better.

It would be helpful to have chrono results for both rifles as the groups are shot. It would be interesting to see the differing velocities of the "flyers". But hell who cares, the price difference alone, makes this test a moot point. Minuet of magpie/squirrel at 40m is perfectly good.

"A miss is as good as a mile." Worse still, the "marginal" difference could result in wounded quarry...There is no monetary compromise when that's at stake. Being the variable behind the trigger, one needs to minimize the nagging thought...was it me, or was it the rifle? However, point taken. Great comparison.

Hi nice simple review but one thing you have to take into account is with pellets you are using show this results but different makes of pellet are better at different distance which I have tried myself in the rm8 ie air arms at 35- 40 very good at 50 nots so good but my pellet testing showed QYS pellets really good groups at 40 -50yards & 35 -40 but not as tight as air arms so worth pellet testing for what yardage you want to shoot. Great video, good and pretty fast shooting.😉 I think the Impact is not the right gun for most countrys in Europe. For your country, Germany, Spain etc. way to powerful so the gun can not show the full performance for longrange shooting and in my country (Austria) we only can buy it without the silenced shroud (without a aweful expensive and hard to get hunting licence) and it looks like a damaged donkey and is loud like 308.
This rifle is made for the US or the Netherland shooters who are not limited whatsoever.
FX build great rifles for smaller money like the Dreamline and they are pretty adjustable, accurate and available from normal hunting style over tactical versions or even bullpups. I own a Wildcat Mk1 cause i‘m a simple guy and want to shoot and not adjust around but as i said, they have tons of models except the Impact and the Maverrick
