When I was still working for the highway department equipment division, A good deal of the bare metal sections where I had cut out and replaced, We used self etching primer and instead of spray paint, We used the undercoating which was really good for protection against the corrosive salt and calcium chloride spray that our trucks were exposed to.
Yeah that grey i sprayed was self etching primer for sure. These ole trucks had such awful metal on them. Thanks for the consistent support and for commenting brother

if you want to know if you have a true 67 ford truck .its easy..look at the heater controls..if they are the knobs where you pull and turn them ..its a 67..68 and up use the slider bars that your truck has
67 is a one year only. It has push in and pull out heater knobs is the quickest way to tell. Brake system is different, 67 has a very narrow brake shoe
@@JMRRebuilders tail lights are the same for years. Ever manufacture would use the same ones back in the day as long as there wasn’t a change. Chevy tail lights like on a square body where the same from 73-87

I have my truck sitting at my buddy's shop now, just waiting until I'm able to pay off some other outstanding bills, so I can afford to throw money at parts to fix it (I don't owe him anything, It's other obligations, he's just a real good friend)

I think that his truck originally had a 240 inline 6 and I think that he put in something like a 351 Windsor. Seems like he had to swap out the bell housing and move his motor mounts and come up with a different driveshaft. That was back in the days before all of the auto parts chain stores was the norm.

Those Fords can be a bit cold natured. It took real talent to bend that brake rod in two places like that. That truck is well worth that price. They were made to work.

Old Ford trucks are always worth saving. As an idiot who sold his uncles restored 72 Ranger I'd love to have another. But here in southwest Virginia you can't find anything like this and if you do, one far worse than this would start at $5k
