When you’re performing for a crowd that excited, things like this happen. As a performer, I actually really enjoy it. Clearly, so does Catherine O’Hara she was going all out for the screams. The only issue here is that this video is being recorded from the audience, so you get a lot of the cheering.
For real, it's like this whole generation just forgot that APPLAUSE was supposed to be left for after the performance. Other than the time they cheer for Catherine when she forgets the one line, they didn't need to be so noisy haha.
Think about the type of people who would go to an event like this...the crowd being obnoxious as they are should not surprise you. These are the same people who clap when the credits roll in a movie or when the plane lands.

I found this for 25th anniversary of the movie, and can't help but think that Catherine O'Hara sounds more like Rocky from the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show than Shock.
I never realized so many people did not know about Paul and Catherine being two of the trick or treaters. Great movie watched almost every year since it came out, and my kids have also watched it almost every year with me. Great performance by the cast, esp after not doing it for many years im sure.
Lock will always be my favorite of the pair, I remember when I first saw this as a kid and had a crush on 'em, pff. Revisiting this since Halloween approaches.

Well I'm pretty sure voice actors are accustomed to voicing children, at least at times.
