IMO, the most underrated large displacement ADV on the market. All that torque hits super low in the rev range, and I always enjoyed short shifting it. It munches miles, and is surprisingly agile in the twisties. I'm 5'-9" and 160 lbs, and had no issues with the heavier bike weight. Shaft drive and cruise control are godsends on extended rides.
Have had a '22 ES for over a year. I've had a lot of bikes, but this one is engineered and designed incredibly well. Even for a big bike, it can do everything from errands to commuting to long trips. Handles, goes, stops, cruises, and it's bulletproof. I got an ECU flash for better, smoother delivery all the way up and it still gets an average of just over 51mpg. Looks like 24' was the last year, officially. A few out there and great used buys. Just an excellent, very capable motorcycle. I really like the purposeful looks. Keeper.
In my third. Had a non ES, then a ES, then a GSA, then back to the loyal no nonsense my19 supertenere 1200 non ES. Nothing compares to it. Have many thousand kms on my XT1200Z. Won't go back. Trustworthy, reliable, low maintenance, comfortable, easy-to-use, no bullshit electronics, the perfect long distance African mile muncher....
Love my ‘12! It’s a big heavy pig yes, but that is the irony - makes it very stable for touring and all the positives you mention. Great price for what this is and has added!
Ive had a 2016 st for 3 years, so many excellent qualities. But it doesn't excite me. Prior to that I had an fz1 for 16 years. I just bought a 2015 fj09. I'll see where this takes me.
Got 12 plate white s10 i absolutely love it i guarantee it'll be a classic in 10 years like the gsa1150 its a brilliant japanese expression of travel it is so ridiculously reliable, fast enough very low c.o.g looks good you can get good flow on sweeping bends it just loves leaning into corners(it wants too)it needs to be flashed though to make it really rapid if i get another bike i wont be selling the tenere
