  • My first go at Horse back Archery...and Yes I have always loved watching Robin Hood! The ancient old skill is actually more tricky than it looks but its a really fun thing to try. Check out how the ponies and I got on, of course we had to be riding reinless too.

    OK just a safety hint: A hay bale behind the target keep the arrows from zooming all over the place, assuming you are that close.. A very fun video.

    Emma i have missed seeing you as my time clock ticks away, im always good to see you out with your animals. I am proud of you getting back on the horses after you fall some time again. you are so inspirational to me. i have been through so much that has required me to give up my adventurous spirit. Since finding out that i had gotten heavy metal poisoning ; it was necessary for me to stop working and living with such a spirit of excitement. I had many symptoms that looked like i was having heart attacks but my Blood Pressure was but one symptom that was causing my heart to fail me. Once that i understood that one of my kidneys had died it explained why my body was in such a strain. After many days and months of test doctors discovered most of my issues; i also acquired a wheelchair mode of transportation. It was all such a shock being an independent person like i was. I know that your recoveries have been a set back but your "driving spirit" kept you going? I have the spirit in some ways but lets just say i know my limitations now? Anyway i love your channel because it celebrates life and youth and animals. You are such a sweet SOUL. Your kindness proceeds you. YOU make my day by seeing a new video. Thank you for your content. You always seem to encourage me. You are a person whos sees like i do; one who sees that life is a journey and you dont know if you dont try to explore your likes and dislikes? i feel your videos help others to hunger for your and explore their personal interest. You help others see what loving and taking the time to get to know animals is all about. Its about bringing ones SOUL to fulfillment? Amen. Sincerely Art from W. Tennessee in USA. God Bless you!

      I agree with what you said about taking the time to get to know animals helping souls. The word for soul in Hebrew is 'nephesh' and that word applies to animals, too, in The Bible. They never fell from God's grace and have so much love and trust to share and be cherished. I hate to hear such an adventurous soul being hampered by the flesh. Please research for yourself foods or supplements you can eat to help remove those heavy metals from your body and start to feel good in your body again. One hint - for thousands of years people stored food by fermenting and pickling. When we got refrigerators, we don't do that so much because it's easier, but we might be missing out on all the benefits of cultured foods that our guts need now, so that the good bacteria win the battles against the bad in our guts. Donna Schwenk youtube channel is a wealth of information on all kinds of cultured foods, if you are interested. We give kefir to our dogs and I drink it, too. I really believe it, among other things, helped me recover more quickly from a terrible, yet tiny, spider bite that left me unable to walk for weeks. God made bodies with an amazing ability to heal from pretty intense damage and He helps, too, if asked.

      @@RoseThistleArtworks your words of encouragement to me are more precious than Gold. I dont know you but your words are like poetry for my heart. Thank you in the kindest way that i can say to you. I had money at one time but was blind in the spiritual way. god has showed me what is really important. I know that all things work for good to those that love the Lord . i dont have money but i do have a loving wife and family. I simply kind hearted people. the world is full of evil and yet some many wonderful people if we only seek out the good. it is my pleasure to meet you. May God bless your life for they kind way you treat others. amen. im Art of W. Tennessee in USA!

    You inspire confidence into your animal fans - those loving horses and other animals - we took on a boy cat and a boy dog when we lived in the NW Highlands. Both would have been disposed of had we not taken them in. It took us six weeks to get the dog to trust us enough to cross the kitchen floor. The cat was semi-wild when we picked him up after a winter storm. However, they both became "house-trained`' and lived peacefully together for many years. The dog had a daily walk pattern that he loved throughout his life but due to a catastrophic stroke, one day he was no more. The rescue cat, although somewhat elderly knew that we were upset. We set off for our walk minus our beloved border collie, only to be accompanied for the first time ever by Smudge, the cat. From that day on, Smudge, the rescue cat, expected his walk with us on the same path we had made with Max the dog every day before he died.

    I was at a barn once that had a mounted shooter. They shoot at balloons with pistols. No bullets just black powder caps. Very loud! He used two pistols so no reins either. And it's timed so it's done at a full gallop. Cool to watch, amazing horse but I think I'll stick to dressage, lol.

    I love archery so this was really fun to watch and I've wanted to try this ever since I saw Merida do this in the movie Brave. Just some quick archery tips: On the end of the arrows you can see 'feathers' in 2 different colours, make sure that the one 'feather' with the white colour points away from the arrow. This improves accuracy of shooting because then none of the 'feathers' come in contact with the bow and change the course of the arrow.
    Personally I always put the arrows on the left side of the bow, that way they stay where you want them, even when you tilt the bow to the right. However, there's no need to change that technique if how you're shooting now works fine for you :)

    • @pyrpyr5Wolf
      @pyrpyr5Wolf 4 роки тому +3

      Good pointers! I was so confused by her putting the arrow on the right, nobody at my club would do that. And I'm well impressed she hits anything at all when she's not got an anchor point. But I couldn't shoot from the back of a horse anyway so who am I to judge :P

    • @BlasterMaster555
      @BlasterMaster555 3 роки тому +1

      @@pyrpyr5Wolf Side nocking is step one to learning to shoot fast. Accuracy is all about practice - once you know where the arrow will go, you'll be able to pop shots just fine. With side nocking, you're nocking drawing aiming and firing in one motion - which is loads faster than the cross nocking method. Next step is to carry more arrows in hand so you can place follow-up shots much more quickly.

    Emma, Its an Olympic sport, heaps of vids out, part of martial arts section. You need to put a heap of targets down the long side of the arena. Can't believe how accurate you are, I got a bow and arrows 'cause not many guns in Australia, got sick of chasing up arrows, 70m out into the lucerne paddock, whizzed over my garden fence. Very well done!

    Your pony did a quick adjustment to the sound of the release of the arrows. It would be safer if the arrows were in a quiver rather than in your boot. Now all you need is a Robin Hood outfit with the famous hat. Since you are a girl a Tinker Bell outfit would be a nice also. I'm amazed how your animals behave around you.
