- My first go at Horse back Archery...and Yes I have always loved watching Robin Hood! The ancient old skill is actually more tricky than it looks but its a really fun thing to try. Check out how the ponies and I got on, of course we had to be riding reinless too.

OK just a safety hint: A hay bale behind the target keep the arrows from zooming all over the place, assuming you are that close.. A very fun video.
Emma, your creativity, willingness to give just about anything a go, and the deep trusting relationships you have with your animals are fantastic. Such a treat to witness.
I love how some horses spook at butterflies and bushes, but yours are practically bored by a bow and arrow.. 😂😂
Butterfly dangerous! 🐝
OMG thought same thing - like she's trying to make it more dangerous and exciting as it is !!
Audrey Cousins yea, im learning to ride a horse and he got spooked by the drop of a tailgate.. It scared me but its part of horse riding right? Besides one day i would like a farm so fingers crossed ill be good 😂
I love horses
😂 😆 😂
Emma i have missed seeing you as my time clock ticks away, im always good to see you out with your animals. I am proud of you getting back on the horses after you fall some time again. you are so inspirational to me. i have been through so much that has required me to give up my adventurous spirit. Since finding out that i had gotten heavy metal poisoning ; it was necessary for me to stop working and living with such a spirit of excitement. I had many symptoms that looked like i was having heart attacks but my Blood Pressure was but one symptom that was causing my heart to fail me. Once that i understood that one of my kidneys had died it explained why my body was in such a strain. After many days and months of test doctors discovered most of my issues; i also acquired a wheelchair mode of transportation. It was all such a shock being an independent person like i was. I know that your recoveries have been a set back but your "driving spirit" kept you going? I have the spirit in some ways but lets just say i know my limitations now? Anyway i love your channel because it celebrates life and youth and animals. You are such a sweet SOUL. Your kindness proceeds you. YOU make my day by seeing a new video. Thank you for your content. You always seem to encourage me. You are a person whos sees like i do; one who sees that life is a journey and you dont know if you dont try to explore your likes and dislikes? i feel your videos help others to hunger for your and explore their personal interest. You help others see what loving and taking the time to get to know animals is all about. Its about bringing ones SOUL to fulfillment? Amen. Sincerely Art from W. Tennessee in USA. God Bless you!
I agree with what you said about taking the time to get to know animals helping souls. The word for soul in Hebrew is 'nephesh' and that word applies to animals, too, in The Bible. They never fell from God's grace and have so much love and trust to share and be cherished. I hate to hear such an adventurous soul being hampered by the flesh. Please research for yourself foods or supplements you can eat to help remove those heavy metals from your body and start to feel good in your body again. One hint - for thousands of years people stored food by fermenting and pickling. When we got refrigerators, we don't do that so much because it's easier, but we might be missing out on all the benefits of cultured foods that our guts need now, so that the good bacteria win the battles against the bad in our guts. Donna Schwenk youtube channel is a wealth of information on all kinds of cultured foods, if you are interested. We give kefir to our dogs and I drink it, too. I really believe it, among other things, helped me recover more quickly from a terrible, yet tiny, spider bite that left me unable to walk for weeks. God made bodies with an amazing ability to heal from pretty intense damage and He helps, too, if asked.
@@RoseThistleArtworks your words of encouragement to me are more precious than Gold. I dont know you but your words are like poetry for my heart. Thank you in the kindest way that i can say to you. I had money at one time but was blind in the spiritual way. god has showed me what is really important. I know that all things work for good to those that love the Lord . i dont have money but i do have a loving wife and family. I simply kind hearted people. the world is full of evil and yet some many wonderful people if we only seek out the good. it is my pleasure to meet you. May God bless your life for they kind way you treat others. amen. im Art of W. Tennessee in USA!
As someone who loves both archery and ponies this was a joy to watch
You inspire confidence into your animal fans - those loving horses and other animals - we took on a boy cat and a boy dog when we lived in the NW Highlands. Both would have been disposed of had we not taken them in. It took us six weeks to get the dog to trust us enough to cross the kitchen floor. The cat was semi-wild when we picked him up after a winter storm. However, they both became "house-trained`' and lived peacefully together for many years. The dog had a daily walk pattern that he loved throughout his life but due to a catastrophic stroke, one day he was no more. The rescue cat, although somewhat elderly knew that we were upset. We set off for our walk minus our beloved border collie, only to be accompanied for the first time ever by Smudge, the cat. From that day on, Smudge, the rescue cat, expected his walk with us on the same path we had made with Max the dog every day before he died.
That made me tear up. What a very sweet memory of beloved animals and a kind hearted family.
LOL... have said it before, will say it again... your menagerie when they wake up in the morning, “hmmmm, why whatever will we get to do today?!”. As it should be 🥰. Thank you so much for sharing.
Emma, you are simply amazing with what your creativity comes up with.........I have always loved Robin Hood, & hitting the target the first time around is fantastic, especially riding
rein less on horseback! Well done......Love, Pamela L.
Thank you so much!
I was at a barn once that had a mounted shooter. They shoot at balloons with pistols. No bullets just black powder caps. Very loud! He used two pistols so no reins either. And it's timed so it's done at a full gallop. Cool to watch, amazing horse but I think I'll stick to dressage, lol.
I love archery so this was really fun to watch and I've wanted to try this ever since I saw Merida do this in the movie Brave. Just some quick archery tips: On the end of the arrows you can see 'feathers' in 2 different colours, make sure that the one 'feather' with the white colour points away from the arrow. This improves accuracy of shooting because then none of the 'feathers' come in contact with the bow and change the course of the arrow.
Personally I always put the arrows on the left side of the bow, that way they stay where you want them, even when you tilt the bow to the right. However, there's no need to change that technique if how you're shooting now works fine for you :)
Good pointers! I was so confused by her putting the arrow on the right, nobody at my club would do that. And I'm well impressed she hits anything at all when she's not got an anchor point. But I couldn't shoot from the back of a horse anyway so who am I to judge :P
@@pyrpyr5Wolf Side nocking is step one to learning to shoot fast. Accuracy is all about practice - once you know where the arrow will go, you'll be able to pop shots just fine. With side nocking, you're nocking drawing aiming and firing in one motion - which is loads faster than the cross nocking method. Next step is to carry more arrows in hand so you can place follow-up shots much more quickly.
Sweetheart... you crack me up! lol I love the way you approach life! You are a natural with that bow and arrow on horseback!
That looked like great fun, maybe anew Olympic event ! 🌍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🌍
But at liberty, no reins. 😁
That would make an awesome olympic event. People would definitely tune in to watch.
So Adventurous and Brave ! Both of you! GOD Bless you and all your wee dotes!
Lovely and great fun. You are a good Archer. 💖
That looked like so much fun!🐎🎯 You were really good at it for your 1st time.👏 Good job! I really enjoyed it. And made me smile.😁
I love all your horses. They are all so special!
Thanks.😊♥️🦋🌹🙏
Way to go!💖 It must be so much fun experincing new things together with your animals.
I LOVE U, LOL. U ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE OR LAUGH...NOT ROBERT BUT DOREEN. LOVE ALL YOUR HORSES DOGS & ANIMALS. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, WE LOVE IT!
This is impressive on so many levels! You are a beautiful human being and you have helped me feel better during the crazy times we are in. I wish everyone had a piece of property like this and the love and respect to live at peace with God's magnificent creatures who do right by us, when we do right by them.
I love how creative you get with your activities with your horses! You're an amazing trainer and rider
Thank you so much!
That was Fun! Emma my girl, you sure know how to have a good time!
Its never a dull day at your stable emma😊
Warrior Princess! !!
The movie Brave made me want to ride horses and shoot a bow n’ arrow and now I do both but haven’t put them together 😬
You are a natural horseback archer!! Wow! And he was a natural too (I mean, b/c of your relationship & training with him). Fun video. 😊👍
That’s fun! I love your connection with animals always positive
Marvelous!!!! 💕💕💕💕 Good shooting for a beginner and on 🐎 horseback , no less. 🏆
It's already amazing enough that you can ride without tack and stand on horses and now This!😮
This lady is unbelievably fit with great balance 👍
It was fascinating watching you both learning and adapting. I did a lot of archery in High School in the 70s but none since. I might just have another go. Great job! 🐎🏹 ❤️
I wanna learn how to do this! It looks so fun 😂
I can't believe you hit those target's you are an absolute natural. I have used a good bow with a scope and still missed at a distance of only ten feet ❗ you are quite the "Maid Marion" 😇🙏👍😄💞🇦🇺
Emma, Its an Olympic sport, heaps of vids out, part of martial arts section. You need to put a heap of targets down the long side of the arena. Can't believe how accurate you are, I got a bow and arrows 'cause not many guns in Australia, got sick of chasing up arrows, 70m out into the lucerne paddock, whizzed over my garden fence. Very well done!
Eye, hand and horse coordination ✅✅✅ what a fun new challenge for you, Emma. Now here's a challenge… Have someone else set up the field targets. At least for the first go around you won't know where they are. Ride fast. Thank fast. Shoot fast.
You are so lucky to have such beautiful animals
I really enjoyed this!!! Thanks for making the video! I can't understand why anyone would give this a thumbs down. :)
i was looking for your newest posting. i actually miss your videos. Emma you help me refocus on kindness and get my mind off of my pains. you always help me to smile. i look forward to seeing soon?
That looks so fun!!!
Outstanding, Emma! Well done.
What great fun the horses love it💚💛
As always, I marvel at the trust between you and your horses...and ponder your level of sanity!!! Is this an actual thing? Anyway, Just kidding! A new and exciting adventure. You are amazing Emma. 🤠🐴😘
as impressive as always!
Maybe there is a drop of the mongols in your family tree? Well done! Next up: pig sticking (syrofoam box, if you please) and wacking fake heads off the top of fence posts with a bamboo sword - kinda like pole bending, only much more fun!
That looks like so much fun!
I wish i could do archery like you!
Enjoyed you having fun, as usual.
So clear your ponies are definitely used to unusual activities by Mom. 😊
Goddess Emma - our real life WonderWoman ! Go girl !
As someone who just got done replaying Shadow of the Colossus (a video game with a horse companion where you can shoot arrows while riding, amongst other things) this is really cool to see in real life, haha. If I had to pick an extreme sport to get into, it'd definitely be this!
That was awesome, very well done on hitting the target.
Wow Emma that is amazing x 💖
Looks like fun! I may have to try this!
Emma, were you Boudica in another lifetime? I'm beginning to think so ☺
Boudicca never rode
@@megurineluka2767 Boudicca did what Boudicca wanted to do!
blairrob yeah but history states otherwise
You are truly amazing!
Thanks for sharing....💞
Thanks for watching!
Great fun and great canter! 🙂

Emma we adore youre commitment the vid!!
So much fun! You’re a natural Emma!
Liberty training and voice cues for direction sure come in handy!
Well THAT looks like fun!
I love your channel!!
You are a very clever young lady. Take care and stay safe.
Well done
You're awesome Emma!
I really really like this channel and I just discorved it. Hello from Cornwall
Fun in the sun ☀️
Your pony listens so well! Your training techniques are amazing! My eventing thoroughbred-appy had no breaks and reins were a must.
Looks amazing, it will be like the movie Brave!
how fun
I'd love for you to do more mouted archery videos 😄
Love hba :D So much fun!
i MADE a HACKAMORE at 16 with old HAY STRING 1970 .PEAC R
That looked so much fun , ur horse was calm and curious even if a bit sleepy lol . As for Rupert he is so funny with his exercise ball ,certain things u do with ur horses I want to try out with mine when we are settled in our forever home ,in the meantime we are just concentrating on having fun and seeing where life takes us , please can u tell me what are they called the pad etc ,as I want to ride bare back eventually on my two , not at the same time obvs 😂. I have 2 really sweet calm horses I feel in time we will get there , in quick time isn't the essence 🤨.
Nice 👍
Your horses and ride Has really helped
Keep it up 👍😄
He was like yes you do what you like and I will just relax and snooze in the sun he was a very good boy
Loving your vids Emma ❤️❤️❤️🥰
Thanks so much 😊
Omg you are like my role model, my favourite vid is the one with hector and hue and your travel for 10 days!!! You are incredible
Perhaps you could try with the minis pulling you along on a cart, wild west style.
That would be so cool!
Your pony did a quick adjustment to the sound of the release of the arrows. It would be safer if the arrows were in a quiver rather than in your boot. Now all you need is a Robin Hood outfit with the famous hat. Since you are a girl a Tinker Bell outfit would be a nice also. I'm amazed how your animals behave around you. Your videos should inspire others to treat animals your way. Another video to your credit, WELL DONE!
um noo? a merida outfit would be perfect! (the redhaired princess from the movie brave) that would be absolutely lovely ❤️
I hope she designs an outfit specific to a 'girl on her horse", with all she finds she needs to get the job done!,💖
She truly is amazing!
a dream for me on horseback
so fucking cool. Imagine being able to wake up and "I think I'll do some horseback archery today"
Terrific! Bravo! Standing on horseback?!
Que bueno‼️ puedes ir al circo 😀😀♥️
This was awesome! I used to do archery and the horse bow was my favorite kind of bow to use. Fun fact: these bows are designed so that they can be strung while sitting on a horse, maybe you can try that next lol. I've always wanted to try mounted archery but sadly I no longer have a horse
There are things you can add to the bow to make it quieter, so its more of a quiet thud than a swoosh and ping... not that you seem to need it XD
It just feels like I want to ride in a horse😘🤗🤗🤗❤️
nice shooting
I like your new hair colour Emma
Very Cool!
But, I knew you were going to have ‘fun’ finding the arrows from your first shooting position. As soon as I saw those bushes, I went, Oh No!
Where did you buy the bow and arrow from?
Your such a big kid Emma! Be careful
hello emma!
i was wondering where you purchased the bow and arrows from that are specifically designed for horse riding as i would love to try this out. it looks like so much fun!
thanks!
What kind of saddlepad is that under the barebackpad?
Hi! I love you so much❤
This is random, but I have the same top as you, and this attempt was way better than my attempt cantering 😂
I’ve never been this early! 45 seconds ago! 💞😌👑🥰
