Ally is really sweet but when you were talking about Ffej being vegan she seemed a bit defensive for some reason. I see that attitude from non-vegans way too often.

I've made vegan sour cream out of cashews and soft tofu! It tastes spot on and without the nasty after taste of dairy sour cream. You can also buy vegan sour cream made by tofutti. It's not bad but homemade is better. :D
I've made it with the cream from coconuts and apple cider vinegar.
+Joanna M I didn't like the Tofutti! It had a weird after taste and a sort of potency that almost tasted spoiled to me. I'll have to try the homemade stuff.

Yes since this comment I've made Hot For Food's sour cream and it was also pretty it good. I used it in a swedish meatballs recipe (vegan o course)

If you want some good vegan food, visit Austin! Vegan BBQ, vegan taco trucks, vegan bakeries, vegan ice cream shop, vegan grocery store..I could go on and on. :) A cat cafe also recently opened that serves strictly vegan food and it helps cats get adopted! :D

Oh, I went to by Chloe when I was back home in NYC this past December because it was exploding everywhere (a Japanese vegan channel I watch even did a thing on them). Food is a bit pricey but they totally get an A+ for the variety and the fact that they even make their own sauces. The recipe for her raspberry tiramisu cupcake that everyone loved is also on her blog so I recommend making it on the channel!
The cream from coconut milk + apple cider vinegar = sour cream; some recipes put in a squeeze of lemon, but that will make a perfect sour cream. The vinegar gives it the sour flavor. It can be thickened up by being stored in a refrigerator for a short time.
You guys deserve way more subscribers than you have. Your channel is awesome!
Whooooo, Ffej! If I ever visited the states I'd want it to be New York, solely because I'm so jealous of the vegan food spread. I always end up eating fries when I go out to eat, and I'm sure at least a couple of those places have some sort of animal product in the frie-making process.

That chick irritates me. "Would you try being vegan for 2 weeks?" Immediately "NO!"... well why the fuck not? She even acknowledged it was for animal rights (being raped, mutilated, tortured, neglected, malnourished, abused and then slaughtered), so why not give it a go? What did she have to lose? Iv been vegan for 4 months and I wished I had started sooner. There is nothing about this life style that bothers me, well maybe the lack of vegan restaurants but thats ok because I just bring snacks with me. Im making vegan rice pudding as we speak, yum yum yum. Im not missing a damn thing and it doesnt hurt that I lost 40 lbs.

Cashew sour cream is so good! For me, it tastes best when there's more lemon juice than apple cider vinegar, but there's a lot of different recipes n_n If you put it on a baked potato with chao cheese & sweet earth bacon, it's pretty much heavenly

Love your videos! I'm a vegan ballet dancer here in the city, and my favorite place is Peacefood Cafe...I've brought many non-vegan friends there and even they agree it's their favorite restaurant! The only vegan sour cream I've had is Tofutti, it was pretty good in a burrito :) Hope to meet you two some day!

i dunno if they make vegan sour cream or not, but i make a lot of different kinds of tacos at home and found coconut milk yogurt mixed with some vegan mayonnaise makes a fairly close substitute for mexican style crema. the vegan yogurt (plain) is pretty bland and loose, but the mayo makes it a bit thicker and gives it that sour cream like tang.

I make my vegan sour cream with silken tofu a little apple cider vinegar and a dash of pepper. Yum. Blend that up. Bonus add some onion soup mix. BEST ONION DIP EVER.

I tried their vegan creamy mushroom soup & it was horrible I used almond milk but yuckk. Their other recipe for vegan creamy noodles with pumpkin or squash was equally 👎🏻👎🏻

duncan's favorite is actually from Vegan Treats, a bakery in Pennsylvania. They have them in a deli near his office and they are quite good. highly recommend a trip to Bethlehem, PA if you can make it for their yummy vegan baked goods

How can someone "understand" why someone would go vegan for both moral and health reasons, and still not have any interest in going vegan? Either they don't truly understand the health and ethical reasons for veganism, or they just don't care. Don't get me wrong, I'm really supportive of anyone who is open to trying vegan food and I totally support that, but I am just struggling to understand the reasoning for her not wanting to try and go vegan :I

I can't believe it took me so long to make cashew sour cream but when I did and used it on nachos/pasta/burritos.. I went vegan!!I know how she feels :)
I soak 1cup raw cashews for at least 2hours then drain and rinse.
Add to blender with 2/3cup water, 1/2t pink salt, 1/2t vinegar and a squeeze of lemon juice.Becomes everything sour cream needs to be :)
