They were taking their time - and the lights changed. He was giving warning that he was going. I don't see a problem with the driver at all - just the idiot pedestrians
The pedestrian signals are advisory only and they were crossing at a reasonable pace. Maybe they were just warning them but they shouldn't have proceeded at that time. The Highway Code says Rule 194 Allow pedestrians plenty of time to cross and do not harass them by revving your engine or edging forward. Rule 198 Give way to anyone still crossing after the signal for vehicles has changed to green. This advice applies to all crossings. Rule 112 The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively.
@@QiuEnnanYou're completely right, although honestly I don't think the driver did anything really wrong. It was likely just helpful that the pedestrians knew the traffic was starting and to be aware. No idea what on earth the driver who overtook you after the turn did... That seemed close and unnecessary!

The driver should wait until the pedestrian is safely out of the way.
Green lights only say you can go if the way is clear.
@@TheMirrorGuy Yes definitely, just saying the beep may have been helpful for them. The car should have stopped though.
@@dylancode The use of the horn wouldn't have been necessary if they just waited
