  • Here is the review of the Neo Smartpen N2 with the branding tie to the Superani team from Korea. This was a gift from Kim Jung Gi, and I thank them for sharing it to me.
To see more from Superani go to this web address. www.superani.co...
For product link go to ~ www.superani.co...
Price point is a bit high, but with the co branding I can see how it can be a higher price then the normal N2 smartpen that you can find on Amazon.
Here is a sample of original sketch to the Smartpen transfer.
    original ~ drive.google.c...
    transfer ~ drive.google.c...
Another sketch transfer using spreads of the sketch book that I stitched after~ drive.google.c...
    Pen hardware score 8.5/10
(good design, solid build, zebra ball point is a good pen, battery time is great but the weight of the pen is a bit too much.)
    overall experience 7/10
(once the app is given a few more sharing options for images and for the replay then the score would go up. The transfer is solid but it does skip a few lines and isnt good for light hands.)

Great review, very helpful. I agree with your screen recording issues. I also had sensitivity issues, but resolved by adjusting the pen options from the default, which chops off the bottom 10% of the pressure. I found adjusting that graph to start at zero and stop around 70% got me nice brush like lines in the PDF export.

I never knew something like this ever existed. I honestly thought you were being sarcastic in the beginning lol. This is an awesome piece of gear for sure.

Awwww, maybe if it could do spreads and export video... not too sure about ballpoint and paper either...
Thanks for the review and the fun sketch.
You just earned a new fan.

Looks great. I wonder because it uses an app and records the realtime creation, is this a memory hog? Did you notice how much memory real estate the app takes with documents?

very nice pen, I agree with you, for now it seems a lot more towards note taking. but with some more improvements I think this can kinda brake the barrier between traditional X digital. I say that because I love to sketch on a sketchbook, but for work unfortunatly digital is way faster.. this could change that..

André Pelaes is that really a gap that needs to be bridged? Idk I don't see the need. As a scanner it's over complicated and less functional. I really only see this as a solid alternative to carrying around a whole camera rig if you are posting time lapse sketches, but I think most viewers would prefer to watch an actual video anyway. And then exporting isn't even streamlined. Plus you are limited to one medium. I think this is an example of technology solving a problem that doesn't exist. Maybe it'll find a niche though. I don't have anything against it. If people think it's cool, more power to em. Kjg must have thought it was cool enough to get behind, so that says something.

I understand your point, yeah, there are another ways to record and to digitalize an traditional media sketch. But to someone like me I think it would be usefull, I feel too much of a difference from digital to traditional and that would make things a bit faster. Of course there are artists that don't feel that difference. But as you said, it is a niche product, in my oppinion made towards people that have a harder time getting away from pen and paper. In regards of the limitation to one medium it would be awesome to have a line of these haaha like a brush, a felt tip, etc... anyway, you brought great points to think about man!

My pen makes quite some rattling noises at the tip and on the back. The power button and ink cartridge holder are mainly causing this. Is this normal?

Awesome review. I was interested in knowing more about this pen. You did a great job. Could you do a review on the Duke pen you've been using? Thank you :D

I would benefit more if he spoke up and didn't talk so fast. He talks as though you already know what he's saying. Not helpful.
