Pro traveling tip: Instead of loading your bags with junk you want to take back, bring everything to a USPS or UPS and ship it back to your house. That way you don't have to travel with big heavy bags.

I agree, I did that when I made a cross country trip, my package arrived home just a couple days after I did. I used some of my clothes as packing material and traveled home lightly.

sometimes games get delayed or canceled due to rain. Dodgers usually have large crowds. if 5 innings have been played when a game gets stopped due to rain it can be declared an official game

Yep lots of people go even on weekdays.
You can buy over the counter medications like Tylenol and other pain relievers and cold remedies, etc. But the Walmart in my area also has a behind the counter pharmacy where you can get prescriptions from doctor filled. Most grocery stores also have pharmacies.
Our Walmart has halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas..

Brothers pizza is a most likely a local pizzeria place in that town which is extremely common in the US. Every state has probably thousands of different pizzeria restaurants with countless names!

Each baseball stadium has their own unique food selection. Many have specific items that are well known. If you're going to a Dodgers game the #1 food you need to try is the classic Dodger Dog. It's pretty simple and not overly unique, but it's pretty much the classic American baseball game hot dog and that's what makes it iconic.

Prescription drugs are not out for you to grab. Everything you saw is "over the counter" (OTC), meaning nonprescription.
For a second while she was swinging the camera, you could see the desk/counter for the pharmacy. There would be a pharmacist working there during certain times and you would have to go to them to get any medication a doctor had prescribed to you.
Remember in the US there is Thanksgiving BETWEEN Halloween and Christmas! So there are decorations for that during that time of the year too.
The crowd is dependent on a lot of variables. A more popular team like the Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees or even the Mets will have packed stadiums but even those will be slightly emptier if it rains. Unlike American Football where even snow won't stall a game, baseball will be called off in heavy rain. During the World Series and especially the finals (aka JUST The USA) the crowd will be more alive. But Baseball is more of a picnic with friends and family with a baseball game in the background, feel free to wander the concession stands and try the food. Just be back by the 7th inning stretch which is sort of the "halftime" entertainment portion.
Baseball can be a low scoring game and long, however some new rule changes have made the game a bit quicker and made for more scoring, which is why you might want to go with some of your Patreon fans to keep you entertain and savvy of the rules (especially when to catch or not catch a fly ball on the edge of the foul line).

They typically put Christmas stuff in stores in September now. I'm just waiting for the day I go into a Walmart and see Christmas stuff out and it's the middle of July lol
the christmas decorations are put out early at walmart in the gardening section because during the fall they don't really have much to put in that area. during the summer it's outdoor grills and yard care supplies. but since there isn't nearly as much call for those things once the weather starts getting colder, they put out the christmas decorations to make use of the space.
Brother’s pizza is one of those local places that you never hear about unless you know about it. Every town has a local Italian restaurant that has been in the community for like ever and it’s where people go after youth games or dates. You know that place everyone goes to for a nice family night out. My local Italian restaurant is cafe Positanos which actually is a mostly Roman place but serves Sicilian style pizza. I always get the same order a penne with fennel sausage, peas, and Alfredo sauce with a side salad and drink. I sometimes get a pizza if I’ve got more than three people with me but usually I stick to the penne. The staff is good to everyone and they anchored the community for years.
You can buy over the counter medications in the isles. Prescriptions have to come from the pharmacy.

Yes pink lady apples are sold in the USA. IN THE Early part of October apples are readily available. Washington State provides 60 per cent of the apples in the country.
We actually do squeeze bread here, to test its softness. It's not disrespectful unless you are purposely squeezing it to the point of damage. Someone chime in and tell me I'm not alone. Americans do squeeze the bread before purchase...so she wouldn't have looked out of place in America.

Definitely advised you to get tickets WAY in advance especially if you want to get tickets for a good price. Be prepared that the closer you want to sit near home plate or on field level, the prices are super expensive!! The higher you go up in the stands, the cheaper the prices 👍

If you have a choice, I'd recommend an evening game at Dodger stadium. It gets pretty hot in the stands during an afternoon game. The evenings are usually beautiful, depending on the time of year.
You can buy stuff here then ship it to yourselves. I did that when I won’t to Europe and Australia
If you are going to a baseball game in LA, you will want to buy a "Danger Dog". They are sold by independently owned venders outside of the stadium. They are a bacon wrapped spicy hotdog.
Our kitkats are made and distributed by hersheys. Everywhere else is typically nestle. Which is why we often have flavors you dont have and you have flavors we dont have.

OTC items such as Tylenol, band aids, wound cleaner and so on is on the shelves to purchase however medications that was prescribed by your doctor is purchased through the pharmacy section of Walmart. You need a prescription from the doctor (name of medication, dosage and the doctors signature on a paper that has the state seal) in order to get that medication.
Many doctors now send their prescriptions electronically to numerous chains, and an example is Publix, and CVS.

At baseball games, they will have rain delays and wait to see if conditions change. After 30 minutes, the umpires will either declare the game postponed or declared finished if it’s beyond 5 innings. The delays are for player safety as the field becomes slippery or muddy.
There are rain delays of longer than 30 minutes.
@@tosweet68 That’s very true in the past, but as of 2023, rules were updated to reflect a 30 minute rain delay limit. This is to speed up the game.
A lot of OTC medicine in the US is prescription only or flat out illegal in France (Or in Pepto-Bismol's case, just not sold).
You're not going to find that Pumpkin Pie flavored Kit Kat unless it's during, or near the fall/autumn time of year.
You can only buy prescription drugs from the pharmacist behind the counter, and you have to have a prescription from your doctor, or they have to send the prescription to the pharmacy virtually, like mine does, which is more convenient. The things she showed, and other over the counter drugs can be bought off the shelves.

One reason you see Christmas items in October is for crafters. It takes time for DIY holiday projects. Also, you may want to box up and ship your purchases home rather than carry them on the plane. I don't know about the cost of shipping but I'm pretty sure you'll get soaked by the airline for overweight baggage. Either way, you'll have a great time on your visit here and loads of wonderful memories to take home.😊

@5:13 fun fact this is where the saying "rain Check" came from. when people went to baseball games and it started raining the game stopped and they would stamp your ticket so if you leave when the game started back up the people could get back in the game.... now i dont know if thats right and yes i could look it up but im lazy lol
The Washington Nationals used to be located in Montreal Canada, known as the Expos, and was usually the last place team in the NL East. They were moved to Washington DC, and were much better on the following year. The apples weren't what you were thinking, but were Macintosh apples.
One thing with keeping a baseball, if you catch it in the stands, is that there is an etiquette generally followed if the ball would be of significance to a team/player. Technically they can force you to give up any ball but you "voluntarily" giving it back is part of the unspoken agreement between fans and players/clubs.
For an example, if a player hits their first home run in the MLB that is usually a very significant moment for that player. Courtesy says the fan gives the ball to that player because that ball is ultimately more important to that player than it should be to you as an observer rather than the person who achieved the milestone.
As part of clubs/MLB working with keeping fans happy, knowing that catching a ball (especially an important one) can be a very significant moment for a fan as well, usually if you would be expected to give the ball back they will have someone from the organization come to you in the stands and have a quick discussion where they let you know they would like the ball and that they will give you some stuff in exchange. Typically you get some merch and autographed items so you have stuff to take home and keep to remember it even though you don't have the ball itself.

@@Ira88881 Legally they can take it back. A ball being caught by a fan doesn't forfeit legal ownership. If they inform you they want the ball back, it would become theft if you kept it.
Unless they specifically give up their legal ownership through something like adding it to the terms agreed to when you purchase a ticket to be there in the stands, they can take the ball back if they want to. If a fan refuses, police on site for the game can arrest that fan and seize the ball.
@RealzFoSho There are plenty of fans that kept very historical baseballs. I've never heard of a team forcing someone to give up their baseball.

Dodger Stadium is almost always sold out (make sure you get your tickets ahead of time). However, notoriously a late arriving crowd. They fill up the stands by the second inning and then tend to empty out early in the 8th inning to beat the traffic out.
I love baseball. I go to games early, get my dogs and drink, find my seat (season ticket), watch the groundkeepers finish up. But after the first pitch don’t talk to me. It ain’t a social event
You are going to have so much fun at Dodger Stadium. Dodger dogs are pretty good. Allow plenty of time for traffic or take rapid transit. Weather probably wont be a problem in southern California during baseball season.

Don't let the color of the apple fool you. In the U.S. you can get 15 different types and colors of apples. Some are red, green, yellow, and lots of apples are multi colored.
Not just weather but if it is a day time game and during the middle of the week, most people are at work so they cannot attend. You see bigger crowds at night, weekends and it also depends on the performance of your home team and also the quality of the team you are playing. If your team sucks, the crowds will usually be small as well.
Walmart not only has pharmacies for prescription drugs, some also have a nurse practitioner for a small clinic. They can give shots, or treat minor injuries or problems.

Hi guys! Baseball is a really laid back game to watch. Unlike football, soccer or basketball, you don't have to pay real close attention. This makes it easier to drink, eat and talk to your friends without worrying about missing something. Kind of like cricket.
You obviously don’t watch baseball too often if you think it’s like a Cricket crowd. Also, playoff baseball is on another level.
If you're coming to a Baseball game in SoCal during the regular season (end of March-beginning of October), you'll rarely experience weather. Also if you're lucky, hopefully you're going to a game during the midweek at night. The SoCal sun can be tough to deal with for people not used to warm weather- especially at a Baseball game where you're sitting for over 2 1/2 hours.
I'm glad they showed the chocolate. I understand not liking Hershey's but so many think Hershey is all we have!? You can get many kinds...even in Walmart!
Rain delays are determined by pudding on the field or lightning
Once a ball hit been hit by a bat it is replaced as it damages the ball. If you watch a game even the ball hit that do not go into the seats the umpire replaces them. You can buy game used balls for about $50 dollars. I have one from Fenway Way Park in Boston where the Red Sox have played since 1912. It is the oldest park in baseball and the team was founded in 1901.
The Dodgers are always good. They just signed two superstars so you're in for an exciting time.
Can't comment on the atmosphere as I've never been, but from what I've seen the crowds are always great. Not so much with the traffic getting to and from the stadium though haha

Plan on arriving to Dodger Stadium early. Getting in and out can be a hassle there. Expect a different atmosphere than the rainy game in this video. Dodger Stadium holds 50,000 people and usually fills up.
Rain cancels games... dont buy tickets if rain is expected. Walmart has Optical services with exams and products and pharmacy for prescriptions as well as personal care and vitamins, etc. Walmarts have a variety of sizes according to the population. Sam's club is Walmart's version of Costco and is reserved for paid members-- great grocery section and cheaper gas..

Yes, we do have many drugs available by prescription only. The ones Marie showed were typical OTC medications like aspirin, acetaminophen (paracetamol), basic cough and cold and allergy medicines, vitamins, etc.

They play in light rain, but if it's a significant amount, they put a tarp on the field and either delay the game or postpone it to a future day. In addition to the rain, the Nationals were horrible last season so not that many people would be coming to their home games anyway.

Your plans are probably already booked, but it would be fun to see you go to a MLS game, either Austin FC or better yet LAFC. That baseball game was more empty than usual, it was probably midweek, at the end of season when they are out of the playoff race, and raining cold weather, which looks like it was called off in the end.

You’re going to Dodger Stadium? That is the 3rd oldest ball park in Major League Baseball and one of the most iconic. Easily in the top 5 there. Give yourself extra time to get there as traffic to and from can be horrendous. Afterwards make sure to stop by Phillipe’s which is alleged to have invented the French dip sandwich, and a popular spot to go to before, during and after ball games at dodger Stadium.
Dodgers Stadium has a capacity of 56,000. Attendance averaged about 47,300 per game in 2023.
Washington state gets a ton of rain. Not a good place to go to see a game. Keep that on mind. Try to find on covered stadium so rain or shine it will keep you dry.
rainy days are tuff people show up in numbers in places like new york and dodgers games you should be good in california no rain!

I remember back in elementary school my teacher didn't celebrate Halloween. She was very religious outside of school and saw it as a satanic thing. So early Christmas things come in handy.

If it is a light rain then they will play, but heavy rain will postpone a game. I suggest learning a little about the rules so you understand what you are watching.
When you go to the game, let them know that this is your first baseball game. The Dodgers (according to their website) have a button and a certificate you can get to commemorate Archie’s first game. They might have a different package in 2024, but it worth the ask.
I hope you sit near people who can help you follow the game. Baseball is a fun sport, if you know what is going on. My wife went to her first game when she was 7 months pregnant with our son.
As someone who has had tickets to Nationals games since they moved to DC in 2005, I can tell you that it isn’t often that all 41,500 seats are full. Based on the date and the opponent, it appears that was late in the 2022 season and the team was terrible. Combine that with it raining and being a Sunday, crowds just aren’t there.
If you guys do get to go to a MLB game, please look into doing a stadium tour before the game... it's a great experience no matter what stadium it is. You need to buy tickets days ahead of time so look into it now.
The Nationals were one of the worst teams in the league that year, so bad team + bad weather = small crowd. Back in 2019, they won the World Series and the stadium was packed every night. There’s a Shake Shack in right field that’s really good. The better ball park to experience is 45 mins up the road in Baltimore where the Orioles play. After many down years, they are now one of the best teams in the league, and Camden Yards will be hopping this season!

If you are in a store and see a person with a large dog and it has a handle and wearing a banner that says, "SERVICE DOG'', do NOT pet it. Those dogs are specially trained to assist their owners. The owner usually has some sort of health problem that requires a dog specially trained to assist them. The puppy in the video was most likely an "emotional support" animal. Those are different. Those you can approach and ask the owner if it's okay to pet.
