For legs, you NEED to make sure you shave first. And then epilate every 2 or 3 days, depending on your pain tolerance. You want to do it often at first, so each time you're not getting as many hairs. But just as I'm sure you found out with your armpits (as did I), it quickly gets to the point of being utterly painless - it actually feels good and relaxing like a massage. Also, the Brauns are known to pluck more hairs than break them, compared to other brands. I lLOVE the Braun Silk Epil 9 Flex!! (And it's relatively easy to change the battery on all the Braun Cordless models, so you don't have to worry about that once the rechargeable battery is depleted.)
Can't believe you say it almost doesn't hurt under your arms but on your legs it does? 😂 I feel completely opposite. It think it's a nice feeling on my legs but when I'm doing my underarms I'm like screaming and biting my lips through the entire time 😂😂
No WAY, I gave up on my legs after 2 attempts, it hurt sooooooo bad!! But my armpits were super easy to get used to and they barely hurt at all anymore after using it for a few years
Ikr like I tried epilating a small patch on my leg and it felt strangely good but after doing my underarms, I stopped half way through because of the pain and I couldnt let my underarms touch anything for a day or two 😰
I need help. I did my armpits yesterday. I wanted to let it grow a bit, but I forgot to epilate after a few days. So I did epilate with pretty long and thick hair, bc it was my first time. But I didn't want to shave it and wait again, so I just did it. I'm young and didn't know what I needed to do before epilating, so I just went for it. It did hurt, but after a few times going over the area, it didn't hurt anymore. It wasn't even that bad actually. I had a lot of blood and it was really red. I just laid a cold towel over it, bc it began to hurt A LOT. After 10 minutes I put some sudocreme on it (I also do that with my legs). The pain didn't go away, so I went to sleep to let it rest. The next morning it still hurt. I think it hurts just a little less than epilating it self. I don't know what to do, help meee. Ps. I'm not really good at English, so I'm sorry for the grammar.
twice_in_a_melon xx The first time I epilated my armpits I also had mega pain and that went on for at least a week. My tip for you would be don’t touch your armpit with the epilator, let it kind of hover and definitely try to do it with shorter hair. But when I touch the epilator to my skin (on my armpits) it’s catches the skin which makes it bleed and pulls up the skin. Make sure to clean the area well before epilating with warm (not hot) water and wait until it’s dried a bit, once again so it doesn’t catches on the skin, but that way the hair will be softer and come out of the follicle easier.
make sure the hairs aren't too long, because otherwise the epilator won't be able to properly tug them out if that's not the issue, try pulling the skin tight
Do you recommend using powder before epilating? I find that this helps greatly for me in gliding the epilator around my armpits, and it gives better grip on the hair. I just thought it might be bad for the epilator itself heh. Would like to hear your thoughts!
