You completely 100% understand what makes the original such a good song. This is like you took the best parts of the original, distilled it into its purest form, and then made a concentrated wall of sheer guitar perfection.
ToxicxEternity You, MUST DO, the "FIGHT ON!" soundtrack for FF7 REMAKE! If you could just meet Nobuo Uematsu, I am positive he would bring you aboard. \m/
@@Greenman422 The added parts are there to give it more of that "metal" feeling, as the name suggests it's a metal cover and most of the metal musicians that create these covers embellish to make it fit more into that genre, if you want faithful then you want to be listening to the orchestral versions created by the origional composer, even then though i think you will find alterations due to the songs in the game being simplified versions of what the composer actually wanted due to the technology limitations at that time.
Kinda disagree. Pretty much everything is on point, but the bass/drum groove from the original version is pretty much gone. Guitar is flawless though, cant argue about that part. And the cover is exactly this : a guitar cover. The balance of the original is changed to be tilted toward the guitar part. Some things are gained, but some things are lost in the process, its inevitable.
I've seen this countless times before but have never taken the time to comment, although I'm sure you're aware that is the easily best cover of its kind on the tube. You focused on the most enjoyable elements of the song and elaborated on them enough to where it never gets boring, but never to the point where the spirit of the original is lost. Hard not to think of Eric Johnson (Cliffs of Dover specifically), likely due to your grasp of musical theory and the cleanliness of your execution. Imo, it's a crime that you're not a household name.
I hope they can change that between now and its release Edit: It looks like they are going to be using multiple versions of "Those Who Fight," so I'm hoping they'll make a metal version of "Those Who fight Further" which resembles the original track more closely.
@@isaiahlee2902 Actually if you checked out any of the Air-buster footage looks like there is a much more guitar-heavy version than what plays with the scorpion battle. Check it out :D
I really love how the rhythm riff at 1:14 is reminiscent to me of that classic opening battle theme riff you hear in the earlier games (and ff9 for a more recent example), it's like the old riff's cadence but it's evolved to fit this newer battle theme, which is a concept you see actualized in a lot of FF7's ost. Really cool!
It actually makes me appreciate the original composition so much! I love it so much after listening to this cover; such a masterpiece - both in original and even more so in this cover!
The greatest RPG game of all time, and you played it with such class! I laughed out loud at your finger tap harmonics at times, so perfectly done. Saw some other covers didn't like them, then your name showed up, and i remembered seeing you before and now this, your channel has grown, and your patreon too! Happy for you man! You even got a girlfriend, that's into FF7? cRAZY, Awesome job!
No, despite the masterpiece OST of this game, "Legend Of Heroes - Trails Of Cold Steel" is for me by far the best RPG ever made.. Well, opinions, opinions !!!
I can appreciate you ending the video with that guitar riff rather than just that other basic stuff. When i listen to this as a part of my playlist, it helps to ignore the fact that there is this dialogue between songs.
The first time i listened to this song in a video about FF7's plot, I instantly went searching for a metal cover. Why wasn't I surprised when Toxic came up on first search result? ♥
0:12 those blast beats lololol omg really!? 1:57 like how you went to the octave on that other guitar part, sounded sick. Good job man, no big surprises just an awesome sounding cover the way it should be done ^^
Man! I wish I had musical talent like this guy. I tried to learn how to play the guitar and no matter how much I practiced I never got any better even after 5 years of practice. This was flipping awesome!
I like this cover too much!! Its perfectly worked. I like to ride my bike with my friends and usually we make some videos of it, could i use it in one of those? Off course you'd be in the credits!!
Astounding job dude, been playing through FF7 with my daughter and we're both loving this version. Can you tell me what drum program you used? It sounds way better than the one I use!
Really sick stuff dude! I just discovered your channel and subscribed. As a Final Fantasy and metal fan, it's great to see material like this. Keep it up bro
7 people attacked Guard Scorpion while its tail was up.
lmfao
Actually at the beginning and thru that boss plays the opening bombing mission song. But I like your spirit
I didnt know you could guard until about six hours into the game so I was very confused as to why it was telling me not to hit it lmfao
now its turned 33

@@Dopamint yeah that original bass groove was everything to me. The vibe is a bit different on this one. Toxic is legendary regardless
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how amazing Nobuo Uematsu is with his compositions? His music translates to metal so perfectly!
I believe if he could slap 2-3 gigabytes of music into the game back then, he would definitely made original version a real metal track)
That's because it's essence is metal.
normal it's inspired by dream theather
Best part is Uematsu is a huge fan of prog rock and metal. I lost it when I made it to Braska's Final Aeon. I was yelling "THEY FINALLY LET HIM DO IT"
@@puciato7540 the opening song from ffx didnt strike that for you first?
fucking perfect dude
Thanks so much man!
There will never be a better boss theme than this.
This has got to be at least on par!

Ahhh, those goosebumps after summoning Ifrit for the first time with the original theme 25 years ago.... Good times

Both your guitar playing and your hair are the most amazing things to ever grace my computer.
Ffs, agreed....
U try to say u never opened hxamster or pronhub?

Never stop coming here for hardon rock. Thank you, sir
ものすごく丁寧に作りこまれている。非常に好感が持てる。クオリティーが高い。
The fact that your girlfriend requested yet another FF7 track gives me with hope that she will request more from the amazing soundtrack!
I hope to!! (This is Anna btw!)
You've got great taste, I have to say. :)
We give thanks to you this week. FF7 music is soooooo prime and Toxic just shreds them
He's got some good materia right there! how many slots are on that thing?
Fatalsprigs I think he has Ifrit too, because this shit is lit AF!
Final Attack/Life3 + Knights of the Round ^.^
double slot experiment with infinite possibilities
Metal materia
I think theres Element+fire in IT 😁
I love the how faithful it stays to the original with some nice stank tossed in here and there.

This is fantastic and you play the main riff to the exact, perfect timing. That hook is one of the best in videogame history
Amazing. This should be the remake's version.
I was EXTREMELY disappointed at the E3 2019 battle music, and all I could think of is this track.
I hope they can change that between now and its release
Edit: It looks like they are going to be using multiple versions of "Those Who Fight," so I'm hoping they'll make a metal version of "Those Who fight Further" which resembles the original track more closely.
I totally agree. I mean seriously. Fucking violins?
They kidding me?
@@szalkerous at least from the demo we can say the gameplay and story is really well done. I thoroughly enjoyed that demo.

You need some materia slots in that guitar.
this is EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I searched, this is amazing!!
Very clean, not over saturated, with brightness and time to breathe. Level up! Well done!
I just love the fact that his guitar is chuck full of materia!! Hahaha awesome cover!!
Omg the drop to the chorus was so good
Murdered it mate best one yet 🤘🏻
sounds almost pirate metal-y! haha great job jack!
Just like Alestorme.
this might well be the best version I ever heard !
I'm so impressed!!!
I love the Gastly and Haunter cameos
The perfect soundtrack for the FF7 REMAKE!
JESUS!!!
Awesome...and really nice how you actually work the themes all together into a melting of awesomeness
Wasn't used or remixed enough in Rebirth
Parts of the solo starting at 2:00 sounded like J-E-N-O-V-A, and I loved it.
Ooooimmmmyyyyyy ggooood iiitttsss sooooooooo good loveit

Of all the remakes I've heard, nothing competes with this one. Thank you for it. I only wish you had played it for longer for a loop.
Dude.....this is my all time favorite theme no matter how many times or variations of it. It still jams.....YOU FUCKIN ROCK!!!!!!!!!

Oh man, with the FFVII remake getting even closer, I'm glad I revisited this!
I love you babe! It's beyond perfect. Thanks for supporting my FFVII habit
The pinch harmonics are all in the perfect places done perfectly!
It's pretty cool, rock + ffvii the perfect combination
Absolutely amazing dude! Loving your mad skills, keep up the good work!
YES, great request :D
Incredible wow wow
Dude LOVE the tech death metal drums phrases! Fucking awesome!
Sweet I love Motorhead's Jailbait song!
Great cover, even Nobuo Uematsu's own former band "The Black Mages" could learn a thing or two from this!
I remember buying that CD and being disappointed that it wasn't as heavy as it could be.
First video of you I see on UA-cam, but I can already tell it won't be the last. Amazing arrangement!
excellent cover
This is definitely one of my favorites!! You rock😜

Finally a metal cover that is actually faithful to the original song.

Literally the best version available. Great. Great
literally the best cover i’ve ever heard
even nobuo uematsu's own band didn't play the lead melody during the verse on guitar. they pussied out and played it on the keyboard. nice.
Masterful, just pure awesomeness
Well that was totally epic
God, I wish you could be doing all the boss themes for the remake.
Absolutely fucking sick. You remind me of a few of my metalhead guitarist friends who are also huge FF7 fans, like any honest citizen
Fecking epic man! Had to comment.
I got this game on Steam and changed all the music you've covered so far to replace the originals. It makes the fights so much more entertaining.
Me and everyone would like to thank your gf for winning your raffle because of that we have this masterpiece
Fucking sick dude. it's a real shame this doesn't have more attention.. the world should see this.
Wow!!! Intense!
Nice. Almost sounds like it belongs in a late 90s metal album, and I love it.
God dam this is so sick dude! ⚔
Straight Amazing!
OMG THIS IS WHAT WAS STUCK IN MY HEAD FOR MONTHS Hell yeah, glad I accidentally stumbled across it again

The TRUE Master Exploder. 🤯

Fucking clean man. Easily the best rendition of this song I have heard, and I have watched *all* of them, lol.
one of the perfect covers of any song, ever
Thanks Jack and Anna for this awesome track !
:D
The layering is incredible.
Ah the memories of being a kid and fighting bosses for longer then needed cause I was stupid have returned. This song is wonderful.
Amazing! Some parts sound a bit like the Naruto "Beautiful green wild beast" music (heard when Rock Lee is fighting Gaara).
Killed it! 🤘
Definitely my favorite cover. You did an amazing job with this one
Deserve more views! Your playing is perfect!
Great work!
0:16 I approve of the reflected pokemon.

Pretty rockin' throughout but around 1:50 onwards it was solid gold and left me wishing for more.
