It's really been 8 months since my last video, huh? Sorry 'bout that!
Final Fantasy 7 holds a very special place in my heart and the Remake couldn't have made me happier. It's one of the first games I played as a kid and everything from the characters and story to the music have influenced me in one way or another.
Anyways, this one took MONTHS to make. I had started to write a medley way back in 2017, but lost the whole thing (Guitar Pro file, MIDI files, etc) when my external hard drive died on me a few months later. Fast forward to last year, decided to give it another shot since I had a new Orchestral library to play with (UVI's Orchestral Suite). Since then I have upgraded to EastWest's stuff and it made a HUGE difference, but I had to re-track everything because the articulations/crossfades don't sound or feel the same.
As for the arrangements, I did put in ("steal" lmao) a few things I really enjoyed from different versions of some songs. First one would be the piano bit before "The Great Warrior", which comes from L'Orchestre de Jeux Vidéo's (Quebec represent!) FFVII Symphonic Suite. The other one is the Glockenspiel playing the intro arpeggio from JENOVA's theme during the bridge of One-Winged Angel, which came from OJV's JENOVA & Sephiroth piece. There are many others from various live orchestral versions (JAGMO, Distant Worlds, etc).

With the wait for Rebirth to come out, I've been filling myself to the brim with FF7 content. Got a PS5 to play it and it was mind blowing.

As far as views go, it is what it is... I do it out of enjoyment, if I could live off of this stuff it'd be a dream for sure, but for now as long as I have fun, it's worth doing.

5 minutes in and I’m already blown away. It’s clear how much work and effort you put into this, and it certainly shows! Performances are all super tight and sound fantastic. I’d love to learn more about how you recorded the guitars (real amp, sims, IRs etc?).

For the guitars, I use a Line6 Helix using the Cali IV Lead amp and Ownhammer IRs that I recently bought. The IR is the OH 412 RECT V70 160D with a low cut at 100Hz. Hope this helps!
