A Month at Sea NearlyTurned into 2 Months Thanks to the Panpanic
ERRV (Emergency Response & Rescue Vessel) is a support vessel for Oil & Gas Platforms.
They stay at sea for a month at a time (2 months during the Panpanic) in all kinds of weather.
Here we see the another ERRV in 5 meter seas as she comes to get some spares for another ship. The maximum recorded seas in this part of the world are over 5 times this size.
These links will take you to videos showing such waves

Just came across your vids, love it. Am at sea myself and would love to see you catch the moment when you come into some lee after very rough seas, that instant relief of getting shelter and you can feel that tiredness hit you after being constantly on guard the whole time..that's a fantastic feeling!
We never get the chance to run for shelter but do occasionally head home during a storm. Yes, it’s good when we hit the lee of the land 😊

Happy New Year to you and yours Chief, best wishes for 2021.👍
Thanks, Malcolm. Hope all’s going well?
@@Bigwavemaster1 All going well thank you Chief, I am glad the festivities are over so as to get back to the grind and get phase 1 finished before February.
Are you having to do a double trip due to this covid carry on? Take care Chief.
@@malcolm9650 No but it was a close run thing. We only found out on 24th that we were home at the end of the trip.
Home now but don’t know if it will be one or two months
Dumb question from a landlubber? What is the pick up system for retrieving the small rescue boat (@c.16 mins) back on board the mother ship please? Really enjoy the vlogs, thanks.
Best wishes from Cornwall.
Hello, there. Take a look at this video from about 14m If you watch the whole video you'll get a bit of a tour of the ship as well :) ua-cam.com/video/fepsLO1ZJh4/v-deo.html

Love these videos wow watching again
Thanks again!😊
@@Bigwavemaster1 always enjoy your awesome videos thanks
A nice video again!
I have couple of questions:
• in the videio 27:57 to 28:07, what standard weight value do you consider for this operation. To me, it looks like, the dummy is quite light weighted due to the way it's being handled, or the rescuer is too strong. Just a question.
• How do you implement these learnings in real adverse conditions? I am asking this because I see your other videos where it looks nearly impossible to conduct these kind of rescue operations.
keep up the good work 👍
These are Dacon mannequins. They are designed to fill with water once they are in the sea. They weigh about 14 stone.
In adverse weather we use a Dacon Scoop. I’m sure I have a video somewhere?
If it’s storm conditions….we could only try our best.
I didn't know Albert could speak German @7.25
He'll love that 🤣
Part 2 ua-cam.com/video/UuNRwkurwK8/v-deo.html
Where are you departing from and going to?
From and to Aberdeen.
Great video but I see 26 minutes when the FRC coxswain is not wearing the kill cord.
The coxswain has to do a lot of moving around so the kill cord is not practical.
Looked a bit chilly this time around but dinner was looking good
Still got Christmas to come.
Part 2 ua-cam.com/video/UuNRwkurwK8/v-deo.html
you guys are back!!!!!
And this is just part one :)
Part 2 ua-cam.com/video/UuNRwkurwK8/v-deo.html
Jól látom hogy az iker hajón magyar zászlók vannak ? :)
No. Not quite sure what you are looking at?
Big boat
43 meters.
I thought you only did sea trials when a ship is repaired or new .
Every few years the engines and machinery have a major overhaul. We then have to test it all the their maximum operating levels before they can be recertified.
@@Bigwavemaster1 I see so you dont have to do it every time you head out to sea.
@@frankwoodward9914 No, not unless there has been some major work done.
@@Bigwavemaster1 Well that makes seance only when needed.
Did you ever get called back to work????
Yes. Still working out there.
love the knife
Never upset a cook with a knife.
@@Bigwavemaster1 lol.... :)
Yay!!ya back x
And that's just part 1 :)
