Thanks again Tovah and Chris. I seriously hope I can convince my husband to get "the heck out of Dodge" (Belgium) and go to Nicaragua.
I've been an expat in Europe for 32 yrs so with regard to the food, that is quite similar to here and the HUGE upside is that we eat MUCH more healthily in general.
I'll have to look through your videos but if you haven't done one yet on conditions to getting résidential status there, this might be a great idea for your next show.
Also, as I klow it's a rather controversial topic but the different options on how to get in the country WITHOUT the jab or the almost equally dangerous nasal PCR test.
I've been searching trying to see if we could just do a LAMP test (saliva) but can't find clear information.
Thanks so much for all your info and help! Maybe one day, we'll be able to meet up down there! 🙂👍🇨🇦

We are just starting the process of getting all the documents we need and have started working with a lawyer for residency. We will be making videos about this process for sure! Right now you don't need to be vaccinated to enter Nicaragua, but do need an entrance test. You should check out the Facebook group Nicaragua flight/travel group, it has all the updated on what the current entrance requirements are. Plus join the Nica expat pages, tones of great info in there about everything Nica. Who knows where Nica (and the rest of the world) are going in terms of travel requirements regarding covid. It would be great to meet one day if you make the move.

Chris & Tova: thank you for another awesome video on my beautiful country.
Nicaragua is the SAFEST country in Central America-it has the best roads in the region, and a robust healthcare system (as you both have been a witness to this). Costa Rica’s handling of the pandemic is disastrous compared to Nicaragua-I mean so were the other regional neighbors.
This goes without saying but; just how impressive is it to know Nicaragua has the 2nd smallest economy in the Western Hemisphere-and still accomplishing several feats almost unheard of in Western countries?
I’m really glad you all are enjoying the Nicaraguan lifestyle-powered by small and medium businesses and operated by entrepreneurs. For some reason there’s a weird misconception that Nicaragua doesn’t allow private businesses-when they in fact do. Sure, there isn’t a multinational fast food joint on every corner like in the US-or a Walmart that people have to travel dozens of miles to get basic necessities/overpriced medications.

So glad you are enjoying our videos. One of the things we love most about Nicaragua is the small towns and the lack of big box/chain restaurants.

Thanks Chris & Tovah for another great vid with lots of good info... Got a good chuckle from the peanut butter situation 😅😂🤣 Hadn't even thought about it (mainly cause I don't like it) 😉 I've made it #$% [redacted] years without it, so I'll be Ok 😅😂🤣
The lack of (or high price point) frozen/processed foods is actually a great selling point... a chance to reacquaint oneself with fresh foods and home made meals.
Take care and keep the vids coming 😎🤙🏻

LOL, Tovah is a peanut butter a’holic so she will mis it for sure. Yeah for us we don’t really eat much processed food and mainly cook from scratch so I know we are going to love it, total plus is the fresh fruits and veggies, being from northern Canada there is a lot of produce that is not grown locally.

@@user-nd9re8vr6l Manangua is the capital city and it is the biggest city in Nica, so if you are looking for city life, with a bit more hustle and bustle and more shopping opportunities then Managua is the place. If you are looking for a bit more of a chill vibe/slower pace of life and be right on the ocean you may want to look at some other Nica locations. Unless of course you need to be in Managua for work, it is not a long distance to many other great small towns.

Sorry we don't know the fishing laws. We do know that there are many fishing villages and fresh sea food is readily available. You could reach out to a fishing charter, we am sure they could guide you in all the rules. Talk to Jason at Hogg Tide Fishing and Charters in San Juan del Sur.

Hi Guys: I've only watched a few of your videos -- and Thanks for doing them. Clearly, you are sweet (and sincere) people. Here in this one you did reference crime. Good. Important. And I think your assessment of crime in Nicaragua is realistic. However....
I'm not usually a fearmonger -- and in fact I think you're making a good choice for your retirement DESTINATION -- but I do have some real concern for you when I watch some of your blissfully naive videos. I agree with much of your other kinds of assessment. But I'll be blunt, and it's the only reason I'm writing you. You seem extremely naive in the risks you are taking DRIVING all the way down there with your dogs and gringo belongings. I don't know what vehicle you plan to use.... but you are taking your lives in your hands, on the road, almost anywhere in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. Do you not understand what a target you wear on your backs in many parts of these extremely poor and sometimes violently crime-ridden areas? No it may not happen.... and I pray for you it doesn't.... but do you really think it DOESN'T happen on a regular enough basis to people just like you? I think you've made a GREAT CHOICE for destination, but I think you're making a somewhat foolish choice in DRIVING all the way down there. Please rethink this. Just an example here. There is also much that doesn't even come to light.

Thanks for your concern. We will be taking precautions when we drive, like driving well traveled roads and only during the day. There are some great UA-camrs that have/are currently making this journey and also some great travel apps like ioverlander that have a lot of current and useful information about travel conditions and we will be closely monitoring conditions. Of course there is always a potential for crime but we think that people should know that the majority of people are super friendly and nice in all of these countries.

@@ChrisTovahsAmazingAdventures Of course "the majority" are! Clearly, that's not the point. But... may God Bless, Keep and Protect you guys as you make your way (which I know won't be for awhile yet).
