    Your pots must sit flat on the creek bed & never be out of the water in any tide otherwise only small crabs. Enjoyed your video though & you got some good keepers. Cheers Denise- Brisbane (New subscriber)

      crispernator thats the go mate. We checked them after an hour even and had a few bucks. Funnily enough we threw some pots back over the side while we were checking other pots and after 15 minutes there was a legal in one of them

    • @samuelschmidt2973
      @samuelschmidt2973  6 років тому +2

      in Queensland it is 10 crabs per person per day. we had 3 in the boat which meant we could have taken 30 crabs. we got 16 legal ones for the trip

      sorry I cant tell you exact details. Best tip is find a secret little spot and stagger your pots in different water depths. Make sure you use real fresh bait. My favourite mix is half a mullet and a piece of chicken. we moved our pots 4 times over two days to get some good crab so you really gotta move them around sometimes to find some good crab

      well there aren't that many skinny creeks like that is just a process of elimination. besides half the time its just knowing where to be at the right time and working the conditions

    i hope here the Philippines are
    the Same Law of that particularly.
    Here in the Philippines even a Jellyfish is dished in everyday meal for lunch. even a Tiny shellfish could be a soup in some sort of Filipino's provinces. poor pinoys . .

  • @randomvids6685
    @randomvids6685 5 років тому

    I hope Philippines has that law.
    Legal size
    No one will take the female crabs
    Cause every little crabs they take can lay an egg in the future
    Sad to say it but it’s true😞

    • @samuelschmidt2973
      @samuelschmidt2973  5 років тому

      where i live in Queensland they have to be 15cm across and males only. In some other places in Australia females are allowed.

    • @randomvids6685
      @randomvids6685 5 років тому +1

      Thats right,big crabs can lay eggs before human catches them but here in the Philippines,filipino’s citizens,not all filipinos but lots of filipinos catches even the small crabs.time will comes crabs will be in endangered.

    i know this an old video..but u all keep dumping the crabs and i saw some big ones u all didn't size most of then either and i know what females look like their thing under their shell is biger than the male....so u all really not looking....in a hurry ....

    • @samuelschmidt2973
      @samuelschmidt2973  6 років тому +1

      I promise you we only threw back females. With the amount of effort it takes to catch them we make sure we get the legal males. The best way to tell is to look at their claws. Females can have a big body but they will have tiny claws.
