  • While at Kingbird Farm, we not only paid a visit to the greenhouse and the ducks-but also the chickens. Karma has since reduced the size of her crew of hens and she discusses the realities of raising hens as a small, biodiverse farm-particularly in the winter months.

I´ve heard so often that silkies and brahmas do not want to sleep on bars. We have both, and ours don´t like to sit at the bottom of their barn, no matter how much straw/hay lies there. ^^ Greatings from germany

HI , My Name IS RON SHOOK, I LIVE IN THE ADIRONDACKS. IVE SEEN ALOT OF YOUR VIDEOS. REALLY LIKE THE AUSTRALORPS. ETC. I have the very same problem, in winter with the WATERERS.... . I AM A RETIRED ZOO KEEPER, ORIGINALLY FROM RI. I SEACHED AND SEARCHED, FOR THE REASON , WHY A WEASEL , WOULD SLAUGHTER THE WHOLE FLOCK. SORRY ABOUT YOUR SILKIES. ANYWAY, I HAVE FOUND THAT A WEASEL, WILL NOT START GESTATION , UNLESS THEY HAVE, OR GET A CERTAIN AMINO ACID... FOUND IN THE HEAD , BRAIN, OF ANIMALS. I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY A WEASEL, WOULD JUST KILL EVERYTHING, AND NOT EAT MORE...... ALMOST, A HUMAN HABIT......ALL THE BEST.
