  • Do you ever scroll on a brand's bestsellers list and think to yourself...how do I KNOW, really KNOW that something is good?! Well, I've decided to turn my home into a test kitchen...but for interior design. I'm trying 5 of the highest rated sheets on amazon, judging them on 8 different categories, and giving them a rating out of 40. We are trying sheets that are as cheap as $19 and a pair that's $128! Which sheet do you think will be the best bang for your buck????
    What do you want me to test next?

    I dry my sheets on low heat and I get no wrinkles. Maybe you had to many in the dryer at once. Washing and drying one set at a time, they need to move, they need lots of space. This granny sends love.❤😊

      this is great "old" advice. i had some sheets that i thought were "permanently wrinkled'. i washed them alone, with an hour 'soak', then i hung them outside. now they are "permanently unwrinkled" and i can throw them in the dryer ALONE and they do fine.

    Hey Kiva, just FYI bamboo sheets usually lose their sleekness quickly, the bamboo ends up being more soft and less slippery. I hated them at first but once I washed them a couple of times they ended up being just a buttery softness and no slipping

    I feel that I am a sheet snob. Ive lived long enough that ironing sheets was the norm. (I don't do it anymore) but thread count, fabric and washing instructions matter! Wash according to the tags. I have sheets I bought over 20 years ago and there is no pillage, no rips, elastic has no wear on the fitted sheet...1000TC and 100% cotton. Folding sheets immediately assures no wrinkles. Microfiber, polyester and printted patterns is the same as sleeping on plastic sheets.
    When someone says TC doesn't matter, they don't understand what that means. Look at the sheet, hold it up to the light...can you see through it? That is a low thread count. Look at the sheets when you stay at a great hotel. They are always awesome, high TC, plus, they are ironed. They have industrial presses.
    1/3+ of our day is in bed...it should be a place where one can restore, a sanctuary, a hug.
    I spent months in bed after brain surgery. I know sheets 😶

  • @sharont2877
    @sharont2877 7 днів тому +3

    My favorite sheets are 100% Bamboo. They give you that "ahh" feeling when you get in bed. But the brand tried here? They were so slippery that they wouldn't stay on the bed. I had to get rid of them. I have gotten many sets of Bamboo sheets on Amazon because everyone wants them after seeing mine. (gifts) Look for 100% Bamboo. If cost is an issue wait for a prime day. Although I know Linen sheets weren't tested I did just get a set and Omg....Nice! I thought I would just use them for summer, but this winter has been brutal so I have been washing them and putting them back on. They are so cozy and warm. I will get another set. They do wrinkle, but that doesn't bother me. Both Bamboo and Linen need to be washed in cold water on the delicate cycle, also dried on the cool/delicate cycle. This was a fun video!

    Hi, Kiva! Love your videos... two questions: you didn't cover linen sheets as that was "comparing apples to oranges." Please explain... Based on this video, issa No to all of these. Lol. I think you should keep looking. For basic, I’d recommend Costco sheets. They scored a solid 32 when I used your scale - lower points for not a lot of colors and a lil more wrinkly than my nicer sheets but I got them on Black Friday and no complaints so far - higher marks for no pilling, deep pockets, above average softness, came with a matching cloth bag (No one will know I can’t fold a fitted sheet even w TikTok’s help 😆) - if you ever do this experiment again, consider them 🤓

    I have been wanting some new king size sheets for our bed. I don’t iron my sheets. The wrinkles can fall out by themselves. I always buy silk pillowcases. My husband sleeps on the ones that come with the sheets. I think a lot of the reviews on Amazon are fake. So maybe the Sonaro sheets had fake reviews. Now I know what sheets I will be buying. The cheaper the better. I usually go for a higher thread count. But with the prices of everything now days. I can sleep on cheaper sheets. My bedroom is colder than the rest of our house. So I use sheets, a blanket and a comforter. I usually have all three on in the winter. I am surprised at the results. I need towels too. I bought some from Amazon for our guests to use. And they are wonderful. I think they are American Standard. I did have The Big Ones from Kohls. And they stink. We use them now. But I need some new towels for us to use. Ours are getting ratty looking. But I’m not buying cheap ones that feel terrible. So I hope the towels aren’t really expensive. Because I’m pickier with towels than with sheets.

    I can't stand wrinkly sheets. That would be a deal-breaker for me. I might get the set of Amazon Basics for my guest room. The ones I have currently, from Garnet Hill, come out of the dryer so wrinkled. And because it's a guest room, I feel the need to iron them so they look nice. I hate ironing! Our bed has sheets from Parachute. They are pretty good, but the top sheet is huge! And the pillow-cases are that envelope style, so can only be slept on one side.
