That was a unique combination of an absolute racket, and music to my ears. lol. I haven't had guineas for several years, but hope to get some again soon!... though probably not this many. ;)
I ordered 5 white and 5 purple when my 15 from the surprise order were itty bitty babies. I have 4 acres but I’m sure my neighbors will hate me. Lol they are loud but sooo amazing. The 5 older ones I have are French pearls and eat a ton of bugs!
It's like they learned the language of "Scratching fingernails down a chalkboard/blackboard". Royal Purple? Nah, Royal Deafness. Maybe Royal Purple Eardrums. Maybe you can make like a turbine that harnesses the sonic waves that they unleash and thereby create energy from it. Wonder if they actually eat ticks or if the ticks decide it is too noisy and leave.
Question please: I'm about to rehome my 10 chickens as they are 5yrs old and no longer laying..and I love having fresh eggs. They have a big 8' x 8' coop and a fenced in run that is about 20' x 20'. Would having Guinea's be a good substitute for the chickens in terms of egg laying? And if yes..do you recommend a particular breed known for laying daily? They would be kept in the coop and run just like my chickens as we have predators in my area. Thanks for the reply!
Hey, I'm not the person who uploaded this video but guineas typically only lay from the spring through fall months and normally will produce around 100 eggs per year so they are definitely not daily layers. Guineas are also nowhere near as friendly and curious as chickens, I have some of both and even though the guineas were socialized and fed treats as they were growing up, they will not go near anyone. They're also loud as hell but they are great alarm systems for both you and your chickens because they alarm them of possible danger. (Though sometimes the "danger" is the wind blowing a certain way) They're very interesting birds and so fun to watch but if you want a daily layer I'd say to stay with the chickens! The breeds that I have are Easter Egger (crossbred colorful egg layers), Rhode Island Reds, and Jersey Giants. They all lay daily and produce XL eggs, the giants produce the biggest eggs and are the biggest as well but take the longest to mature.
***** Thanks so much for this info! I really don't want loud birds around since my chicken run is right next to my bedroom window (so I can keep an eye on them) but I did read elsewhere that guineas are terribly loud..so I'm not going to get any even if I think they are very beautiful. All my chickens were rehomed and now I am waiting for the hatchery to have the blue egg laying hens I want in Feb -it's a new hybrid breed called Whiting Blue. I was thinking about getting some Jersey Giants as well because I wanted the biggest chicken eggs I could get..but I read that their eggs really aren't bigger than Rhode Island Reds..and that they eat more than RIR..and take much longer to mature..so that didn't sound too great. Do you agree with that about them? I'm still debating about getting ducks for larger eggs..but I keep reading conflicting things about them being too loud and dirty.
Nightbird I will agree with you on the Jersey Giant egg size, I don't really notice if my two girls eat more than the others because they all share a food bin but it makes sense because they are so much bigger. My two giants have produced a few double yolk eggs which was very cool. The Rhode Island Reds are so outgoing and curious, they're adorable. My Easter eggers have the cutest poofy cheeks! We have a rooster of the easters and the crossbreed are so cute and colorful! (Except for the giant's son, he's black) My run is just outside of my bedroom as well! It is nice to get to see them! About ducks, I don't really have experience with them because I know they'd want a little lake or something along those lines and where I live there aren't any natural ponds nearby. Only horse water tubs and I know they'd make it so nasty. If you have the facilities though I'm sure they'd be fun to raise! They are certainly adorable!
***** How cool that your chicken run is outside your bedroom too! At first I wasn't so sure about that..and then when we had two roosters I realized getting roosters was a big mistake..even though I loved how they looked and crowed..but the problem was the little boogers crowed all through the night as well..lol! So..I rehomed them..and then it was peaceful and quite..until..one of my hens decided she was transgender and started crowing every morning too..lol. I will never get another Ancona hen again..ha! They are very pretty..small in size but still lay large eggs as large as RIR's..but they are also very vocal..mean..and the first one to kill another hen if she isn't acting right or is not feeling well or sick. My main objective is different colored eggs..because I just love having blue, green, brown, pink and white eggs all in the same carton -it's like Easter every day..lol. It sounds like you have a great life with all your animals so congrats! Growing up in a city..I now totally love living rurally and wouldn't give it up for the world.
Edgar Gonzalez se me dieron 6 de 10 que compre a cackle. Todo el mundo loco con ellas , ya tienen 3 mese y todavia las tengo en jaula. Eventualmente van pa’ fuera
Wesley Mwafulirwa:--Ouh Wes is that a joke? Why? You chop off (trim) the wing feathers. That's all. Doesn't hurt them. Then they'll take upto 3 years to be habituated domesticated.
they are doing this ( noise) because something different maybe the person with the camera upsets them they are really great birds loud but watchful friends
If you want to collect the eggs for hatching or eating, it is best to keep them penned until around noon time - they should have laid by this time making it much easier for you to collect them.
The first few days baby chicks are living off of their yolk sac leftovers. This allows the USPS to deliver in enough time within the US and why we don’t ship internationally.
I mean no disrespect to you at all, but SHOOT ME NOW! I have 2 guineas, a purple pied female, and a lavender male, and that's absolutely all I can tolerate lol! My male guinea is a total jerk to my alpha rooster, who is a BIG Speckled Sussex, but he totally leaves my other 3 roos alone. My male guinea also bullies some of my poor smaller breed hens, like my Silkie, Golden Spangled Hamburg, and Old English Game Bantam hen. However, my male guinea is absolute BEST FRIENDS with my Polish roo! Crazy
They are fascinating birds to watch and their flight is fast and beautiful to watch but they are SO NOISY!!
بسم الله ماشاء الله تبارك الله عليكم بالخير و البركة 🤝👍

...we loved our flock of guineas & they loved my mother.
Where can I buy it in Nigeria
royal chorus for sure! thank you for sharing
I really love seeing this
Thank you
They are very talkative. Like a Cockatoo but more talky! Haha
Guinea fowls are very interesting.
My uncle had about this many lol, and this is exactly what it sounded like when you pulled up at his house.
you would go deaf in there, lol! A single guinea fowl is loud as heck. I'm surprised the guinea fowl themselves don't go deaf
Love me some Guineas
Have you had an noise complaints from the neighbors?

These people are the best to order from in my opinion
Thank you so much, Kenny!
wow looks very nice and I have been try to make my farm of them but its so difficult to grow up
That noise, I hope your house is a mile away, I almost had this many when I lived in the trailer park but I got kicked out and evicted.
I’ve never seen soo many guinea hens like this before
They make a great large flock
I bet there's not bug around there!

i love this farm. help me understand this animals
they are doing this ( noise) because something different maybe the person with the camera upsets them they are really great birds loud but watchful friends
+george ane
This breed is known by a lot of people as a watch dog. They are also very good for insect control.
I don't see any with the color royal purple in them
+James Heasley
The lighting isn't very good in this barn to see the purple on the plumage.
how do you gather the eggs?
If you want to collect the eggs for hatching or eating, it is best to keep them penned until around noon time - they should have laid by this time making it much easier for you to collect them.
Do they have names?
We put all their names in our random generator www.cacklehatchery.com/chicken-name-generator/
are they taste as delicious as chicken? i doubt it!
+Wishnu Adji Adji
Some people say they are as good as chicken.
+Wishnu Adji Adji In my country(Mali), they are more expensive than chicken, more people find them more tastier than chicken.
+Cackle Hatchery want to try it
Dioula 92 i think so
For me they are actually testier, they have a natural taste
