Dave, the split rail fencing is erected to keep cattle from entering or rubbing up against the buildings. Part of the arrested decay method of preservation of the structures.
@@DaveExploresYTI don’t think that’s what the angled fences are around the buildings. I think those are snow fences to keep drifting snow from piling against the walls of the buildings. If it was to keep livestock out it would be a more conventional rail or post and wire fence.
The furniture, electric, and blue plastic buckets near the first site indicate it might have been occupied as late as the 1970s or shortly after. That style of upholstery was popular in the 70s, and the existence of plastic 5gal buckets doesn’t go too far back either.
The room that Dave described as a workshop was actually an infirmary. Note antique hospital bed and the white paint on all the wood surfaces. Typical to a small, remote outpost infirmary of either commercial or military use.
Nice video, from some of the items seen in the cabins... the car, the furniture and the hospital bed, I would say people last lived there around the mid to late 1950's to early 1960's
I heard a story that the three owners of the mine took what money they had and left the residents high and dry. This was about 1923. No one has lived here since.
Those governmental buildings beyond Farlin, looked not much newer than the buildings in the ghost town. But the switch box from Square D looks fairly new, much newer than the buildings, which is strange. And those root beer bottles look fairly new as well. Interesting too, that big opening in the building with tho old hospital bed in it. Almost looks like it could have been a garage door opening. Why would they put bars on the windows to keep bears out, but have that big opening with no glass or bars? Just one big mystery. Those buildings look more like 1920's or 30's, which isn't that far after 1860's. Maybe they were mining or looking for uranium or some such for bomb making capabilities.
Yes in-between the two small trees that are next to the bigger trees directly above the rock that's in the middle of the screen and your comment was exactly what I was looking for and if I didn't find it I was going to ask it glad to know that I wasn't the only one to see it do I know what it is nope cause I wasn't there it's moving to fast but being that he seen a bear and I've lived in grizzly country and hunted them and been stalked by them and all I ever seen was a grey flash in between the trees where I lived in Alaska for a few years I'd say it's fair to assume that ole Dave was being sized up for dinner and ole grizz decided that Dave wasn't a good meal.
The biggest reason for me not wanting to go in one of those buildings would be not wanting to disturb anything and have Hunter virus floated up into the air and into my lungs

Many times government posted keep-out signs are for forestry cabins, or fire fighters but some times for uranium mines. Even small scale uranium mines were posted.
Bears, that's why the bars on windows

Interesting, thanks for the explanation!

I think the bars are to keep the bears from coming in through the windows

You are right, that’s a great point!
Nice Bear Trap , leaving your car wide open. " Do Not Feed The Bears "

Thank you. Merry Christmas!
@ merry Christmas hun. Have a great one
nice video. interesting to see old towns. Bear spray might be something to bring with you.
Glad there were no stinky tarps in this one. Thanks for the adventure
Yeah, definitely more enjoyable without those. I always hope I won't find a body, lol.
Love the geo tracker piece of history
His out in the desert and mine just came a mile off of frozen lake. Great vehicles for the outdoorsman.
WOW 😳 Somebody - with the means should give the first cabin some love ! Damn it's great history and needs to be preserved ✔️🥴
10+ for the eerie sound effects .. nice urbex explore, 420 in the ghost town!!
Interesting piece of history!

Thank you; Merry Christmas!
Good video dave.
Thank you.
Come on. You can tell us you went inside. We all think you did. Just get it off your chest. Lol.
Great video! Cool area!
Haha, 😂
Nice work. Great narration.
Good job following the rules.
Thank You ❤. Need more rain
Should be a date on the inspection tag in the electrical box.
A picnic table at the former site of a castel!! LOL!!
Whats a castel?
Hi Dave, Merry Christmas Buddy!
Thanks, Merry Christmas!
2:39 there are rusty finger marks on that door, cool!
Very interesting, thanks.
Thank you.
I thought the area looked familiar. The beaverhead forest is literally my back yard. Glad to see you appreciated it.
God bless and merry Christmas!
Same to you!
This was a cool trip for you to share but the creepy music was not fitting for it. Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing.
Absolutely. And thank you for the feedback!
Over time and with wind the sand would bury alot
Looks like somebody had skill writing with bullets at 9:54 at the top of the metal tank, albeit an interesting welcome message.

Cool.
I'm from Montana, I have searched for Farling MT without success. Maybe this guy could tell us what other town is close to this place
I-15 just north of Dillon at Apex, take Birch Creek Rd west to Farlin Gulch in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest
"Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men"
The next time you go out in the wilderness like that take a ginger center with you. It mite be radio active.
I think you meant, geiger counter. Especially if the outer buildings were a governmental uranium mining camp.
I don't think they government cares about those buildings anymore

Nice video. What was that red barn?
Interestingly enough, it was someone's house.
@@DaveExploresYT Wow!
Where that car is buried might possibly have treasure underneath maybe
Anyone see a grey flash of animal behind the tree line at the 2.53 mark ?
@greyhound3561 I see a truck (looks like it has a camper shell) driving down the road behind the trees. Don't see anything that looks like an animal.
I àm right from my wheelchair thank you so much for thinking of me ❤️
Great video. maybe you can explain I see, in the cabins looks like the chinking is not complete or missing. Do you see what I mean?
I wouldn't walk around there where a bear was scoping you out.
In my country there are none of these artifacts left al stolen
You're already trespassing so, no worries on entering the buildings. Most explorers don't adhere to rules like that, just do it.
They used to bury cars to help prevent erosion along riverbanks
The biggest reason for me not wanting to go in one of those buildings would be not wanting to disturb anything and have Hunter virus floated up into the air and into my lungs
What's with the spooky music. It's Christmas for cryin out loud. Those bars are to keep nosy people out from trashing the place.
The pressure treated 4X4 @1:08 is brand new it still has the tag on it....

@DaveExploresYT YVW!
I can’t help but think how many native Americans lived in that area before it got taken
Wow mid sentence the video ends.
The do it to keep it frome getting over grown so that it is better preserved from nature so they dont have to maintain it so you can look at it
😅😅😅😅
Bears. No way.
Are you armed while out there? 10mm or .357 Mag. Just sayin'.
