This is the very first time I’ve heard someone actually describe how they make a living in this untraditional way. This is a great road map for people looking to seriously get into photography as a career. This was very generous of you.
I went to your online store and saw the workshops. I thought to myself, if I ever did travel to the UK, spending a half day with you in a workshop in London would be a great tourist/photographer experience. Maybe this is something you could market to travel companies if you haven't already.
Although I have given up on my 40 year old dream of earning money from my photography, it was very interesting to hear how the world and corresponding opportunities have evolved for photographers.
Hi Roman! Thanks a lot for this video, really interesting! I quitted my employee job 3 years ago and managed to do roughly what you want to achieve (travel, photography, putting different sources of income together) from another field that photography. I liked your point of view and liked to see another way to reach this beautiful life goal! I definitely would love to see your progression on this journey. It's the first video I saw from you and suscribed straight to your channel :) Keep it up, cheers!
First of all hope your feeling better soon, second i really enjoy your video's, i just started out photography so it's nice to learn these things. Great and highly informative video Roman. I subscribed to your channel a few months ago having come across you from a post on Gareth Danks site. You have a great channel and I find all of your posts really interesting. You speak in a down to earth way, always on the level, highly articulate, and most of all always interesting. I have no doubt you are going to make a success of your new career path. Love your Snaps By Fox website. A really well constructed site and a really good read. Keep up the good work. You deserve to be successful at what you do.
Amazing video and thank you for breaking down how exactly you make money with street photography as it seems at times there isn’t much money to be made in the street.
Excellent video. I'm really interested to see how it goes. Its a very brave decision to go into this now given the environment. I've been a fan for some time so I'll be for sure rooting for you!
I wish you all the best. Since I spent many years as a fulltime professional photographer, I'll be interested in how your plan works for you. My experience isn't comparable. First, I worked in the days of film and way before social media. I'm also in the US and not in a major metropolitan area. While the photo business was very competitive when I was in it, I don't think it was anywhere near the fiercely competitive environment there is today. I'm seeing legendary photographers selling workshops and plugins, since conventional methods of making money in photography have really changed. Have fun and good luck.
yeah that’s a very harsh reality. I think if i had to chose between a traditional freelance photo business and a solid 9-5 i would pick the 9-5 any day. Cheers!
@@snapsbyfox I was concerned about the trend of photography. Also, I had a number of large industrial clients and I was concerned about them keeping their plants in the area.
