I definitely need wider lats. If I'm not looking like a flying squirrel when I open my arms, then I'm not satisfied.

You need to engage your skin too, lats can only stretch so far, the rest of it is up to your skin

This guy flat-out has the best channel on UA-cam for weight lifting techniques/advice. He's to the point, explains his principles clearly, and has the build to back up everything he's saying. Plus, he makes me laugh throughout every video. Keep up the good work Ryan!

Thanks for the video!! Yes, please make the pullovers and 1-arm row videos. I especially have been enjoying (and implementing) your Tri-Sets. I loved your triceps Trifuckta. My triceps hated them and screamed during it but I felt it was great. I also loved your delts Tri-Sets. Midway through them my delts starting calling me names and claimed I didn’t know who my real father was while screaming at me to stop.
Please make more Tri-Sets for the other muscle groups. Thanks again.

Mr Humiston the best way to work the lats is a rowing motion either pulling up to down or down to up elbows bent 90 degrees keeping them bent like an hinge and not involve biceps.A good machine also is an high row machine from top to down or a nautilus pull over.Thank you for your work.

Ryan, you’re the master and I’ve learned a lot. I have modified one of your movements and thought I would pass it along. I attach ankle straps that are used for cables and attach to my biceps. I then perform a row. It takes the biceps out of the movement. All I feel are lats. It’s painful. Try it.

Revelation. Keeping the arms bent throughout these exercises made ALL the difference for me. It targeted the lats far better AND stopped the pain I got in the elbow joint from hyperextending my arms. Every other fitness instructor seems to suggest you need to fully extend your arms on the eccentric portion of the movement. Nup.

Excellent way to stretch lats during a pullup is to raise your knees. You don't have to lower yourself and disengage your lats that way, the raised knees feels like it stretches your lats x2 or x3 time more. You do way less reps that way too.
Do this on every rep, and when you fail you jump yourself up and hold yourself at the top of the pullup in an isometric hold with your knees raised. You'll be so pumped you feel like those chicken wing/fake lat walking around guys.
