Hajime no ippo is one huge underrated gem from the shonen genre in anime, can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard or read in media about how this anime somehow changed their life’s, either people start training boxing and became pros or they start watching anime and all this thanks to this one of a kind manga/anime, from the knowledge of boxing the author has, to the comedy (specially the facial expressions that are simply pure gold lmao)
Hajime no ippo is very dear to my heart. I mean that's the beauty of sports genre. If it successfully gives you an adrenaline rush, gets you emotional and urges you to try out the sport, then that film/anime/documentary/manga is successful
