- The plaintiff says she was 16 when she started dating the defendant. He claimed to be 19 but was actually 27, and the defendant sold drugs to support them. She soon realized the defendant was living a double life and had another apartment with a second woman in a different city. She’s suing the defendant for unpaid loans. The defendant admits he was a drug dealer, but he never cheated on her until the plaintiff cheated on him with his cousin. The defendant is countersuing for the down payment on a car and emotional distress.

Judge Mathis seems to be so caught up in being knowledgeable about the drug game, to the point where he appears to be annoyed and belittles those who would be deemed as a small fry. There's only so much you can know from the sidelines.

I was 19 and met a guy who was working at Subway who told me he was 21. We dated for abt 3mo before I discovered he was 27. He came to my grandmother's bday party and was admiring her vinyl records. He had also planned to go to the jazz fest with his guys. He let it slip one day that he was getting old and I got upset but didn't leave him right away. My parents had met him already under the impression of him being 21 so I didn't find it an issue at the time. Lying was the red flag that 19yr old me let slide.

Yes, the young guy used illegal drug sales to support his family, but neither he nor the woman ever claimed that he did so from the comfort of his house. When he gets out, he discovers that his wife has moved out and started a new life with his cousin, taking the kids with her. The sad part of this story is that we don't know anything about the man's upbringing, but we do know that he is capable of loving and caring for a Black lady and her children despite not being their biological parent. Raised us all,almost alone. My dad passed when I was 6. Always had 2,3 jobs,went back and got her GED. Strong black woman. I say that to say..she could've gave us up like her mama did.
