Good day Zed and Lee. Thank you so much for sharing this video on the spoon knife sheath. It helped me to have ideas on how to protect and respect my spoon knife. Blessings to both of you.
Thank you kindly, indeed when I was researching this topic I realised there wasn't one central video showcasing so many styles of sheaths hence the inspiration for this video came about ~Peace~
👍 Use what you have, let your creativity/ingenuity run 'rampant'. As skills increase, so does creativity. Don't be discouraged when something doesn't work out as you expected, just learn and keep moving ahead. Thank you Mr. Zed, and thanks to Mr. Lee.
Great video guys. I have just acquired a crook knife for spoon carving and need to make a sheath……. This video had EVERY option of protecting my blade edge😊👌 Thank you
Thanks Zed and Lee, a great little video, interesting and fun. I was one of those people who saw Lee's spoon carving video early on in my adventures and became hooked.
I would like to see sheath(s) for the knives or boxes that organize the sets of knives that make selection them as well as safety transport to job sites. Agree knife are great tools and they needs a safe place and transportation needs. I'm trying to absorb. But that O ring model is my first favorite to make. Some great methods and I think that O ring model is looking most handy and one of the more easily to provide. Thanks 👍
Just the video I was looking for. I would like to see how to build a leather and wood sheath because I have just gotten into the wood carving and leather crafting as a hobby.
Thats awesome to hear and worth mentioning that I have all my tutorials listed on a page on my website for easier navigation - zedoutdoors.com/video-tutorials
Indeed yes I have a tutorial coming out tomorrow showing how Lee made the wooden sheath with a swivel lid, and we will be filming the versions with a hinged lid as well as the slot in future videos. As always I appreciate the kind words and for watching Maurice thank you ~Peace~
Brilliant video Zed & Lee, great to see you both again, looking forward to the next instalment. I would like to see how Lee makes his leather sheaths especially the capped end.
Hey John long time hows it going bro! Ah yes we have videos planned on making that exact style of leather sheath as well as the version (which wasn't shown in this video) of a leather sheath thats actually shaped around the curve of the blade ~Peace~
I’m really excited about this series. I just made a box for my spoon knife but used magnets to secure it. I tag you in Instagram if you are interested in seeing it.
Hi Daryl indeed I would love to see that on Instagram buddy so tag away. Indeed asides from what was shown in this video there are countless other ways of making sheaths for your tools, truth be told we could have shown another 17 ways of making sheaths as once you think outside the box the possibilities are endless ~Peace~
Thanks for such a great video! Lot's of ideas and suggestions... Now to watch your video on how to make a 'box' for my knives and then 'learn' how to properly use them! ;>) Again, Thanks! STAY SAFE and HEALTHY ALWAYS!
Nice assortment of sheaths and ideas! I’ll add my 5 cent. Popular idea is to use a PVC hose. I think it mostly being used for smaller knives and especially for crooked knives that use native Americans. There are PVC hoses in different sizes and it also could be heated and stretched and/or bent to suit the size and form of the knife/blade. Not so fancy but cheap and fairly easy to make. Useful if you have a set of different knives. But in some way it is worth than a wooden case with slot. Cause not every knife you will put in such sheath every time you put it down. And this last criteria is very critical really.
Indeed yes it's funny you mention PVC pipe because we have a tutorial covering that type of sheath in a future video. We were not able to show it here because we did not have an example ready ~Peace~
Hi zed. I have been following your outdoor adventure. My spoon making is inspired from jill spoon. I havent been making the spoon yet. Thanks for the video adventure. I really appreciate the compilation of knives sheath and also an axe sheath. The next series could be the making of carving , spoon or maybe bush knives. It would be interesting to see the process. I could see a lot of content in making the bush craft and outdoor series such as bag, water bottle, cooking gear, shelter, bed etc. Thanks again. Azhar, lumut perak, malaysia
Hi Azhar thank you for your kind words and for watching the videos. I appreciate your suggestions and I actually have videos on those topics planned over the next few months. Take care brother and salams ~Peace~
Great video as always ,Zed. Always having problems with my spoon knives cutting open anything I've tried to keep them in ,bloody sharp points on them, leather has to be really thick to hold them! Made a few very simple wooden tops for carving knives ,which work ok ,but definitely not as posh as Lee's though! I have my Ashley Iles blockcutter chisels blade down in a small log with individually cut holes for them ,sort of works, but would Lee have any ideas for some sort of set up for having a block where you can put spoon knives in ?Would be super handy as I tend to switch from tool to tool quickly ,maybe some sort of jig that could fit a few individual blade holders?Would be awesome, thanks. Atb to both of you.👍
Firstly I sincerely appreciate your kind words and for watching, reg a tool block the reason why a lot of people don't use that is because it's typically a bit cumbersome to carry around, but fine for a fixed location. It's worth looking at tool buckets like this - www.amazon.co.uk/Basong-Organizer-Drawstring-Construction-Electrician/dp/B07X587BCK/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=tool+bucket&qid=1598004932&sr=8-8
@@Zedoutdoors Cheers for the reply Zed ,that looks very handy.Really looking forward to more videos in the series ,great content as always ,super useful!👍👍👍👍👍
Hey Zed, it’s been a while man! Glad to see you still putting out quality content. I always did the leather strip wrap that’s definitely a faff. I’ve been getting my channel back up and running :). All the best. Bodhi (from bush life)

Indeed this video was designed to be a collation of potential spoon knife sheaths, even still this is far from every option out there! ~Peace~
Before we got deep into it I couldn't stop looking at the pine tree grappling hook / hanger in behind your right shoulder Zed. 😍🤠👍
lol Lee's workshop is full of such wonders :) ~Peace~
Peace be with you and your family. That pine tree stuff would make a hand-held light rake, like for bundling reeds or straw for roofing 🤔😍👍.
Thanks for sharing that, today you show power tools!
Ha! yes we did :) ~Peace~
