I just threw 2 of these away! UGGH. They were missing pieces! Ithrew the way the make these in so many pieces I have a tidal now and 1 piece to get the return back to the filter!
Two things to do if you cut the top of the filter. first off is tape it so it doesnt crack and second use a coping saw to cut it to keep the top from cracking
What will happen if the filter is running but not underwater for a long time? I've kept it running in my home and due to lock down im stuck in another state and I'm pretty sure the water would've evaporated by now... Will it cause fire if it keeps on running dry? Also i have a heater running dry too... Pls help someone...
@@sinay5817 thanks for asking...i told my neighbour to power down the house in meter box... So fire is prevented but all ten discus literally dissolved in the water... Bacteria ate it fully except the bones... It was a scary sight to see when i entered the fish room... There was silence and nothing in the tank...
@@JosephKarthic Omg what the heck... sorry for ur loses, yeah it really sucks when you lose beautiful fish like discus. To me it sounds like an ammonia poising. When there is high levels of ammonia it literarily burns the fish skin. This is cased when the filter stops working for a long period of time like in your case. But anyway did you get any new fish?
What do you use as a source of light to grow the Chaeto?

I like that you reused the basket instead of buying the mesh screen. Good job man. Great video!
@Hudson Shawn what the fuck?
Can you run the Aquaclear on the back or does it have to be on the side glass?
the anxiety of watching you almost cut your hand with scissors. LOL thanks for the vid.
Will the originally provided materials be sufficient to filter a saltwater aquarium as I cannot access macro algae for a fair price

Are you still using this? Has it held up and been effective?
What size tank did you put that 70 on?
That filter went on a 10gal tank.
Done well mate 👍🐠
Thank you! One of my first ever videos, so the angles are horrible 😂, but it's a work in progress.
What light was purchased?
I'm about to do this to my Tidal 75
How did it go?
Can you still use it as a filter as well, or only as a refugium?
sean anderson yes you can leave room to put in filter pads and filter media. I chose to put some bio media underneath my chaeto
Did this on a 50 and chaeto died
Toolio Jones you must have not had enough nutrients or your light wasn’t powerful enough
Will D yeah. Light was fine but I think low nutrient swings may have been the issue
Noticed the aqua clear self primed !!

Joseph Karthic most likely the motor will burn out & stop working.
you should’ve added water from tank to your filter in order to run.
so what happened now?
