if it is broken, they need to keep it in the game
Bungie doesnt like us having too much fun so i think they will give the navigator a detention to think about what its done

it's never broken. it's op in order to induce fomo. destiny has always run on fomo.
When you see the reticle turn white when you ADS is when you apply woven mail. Timer to apply WM start the second you shoot near your ally not even on them. So shoot next to them, watch for the glow on the ads reticle then sweep to hit them. Conserves a lot of ammo especially if they're moving around a lot.
I have to imagine this was, like, a late-night change that someone forgot to note or that came in after Localization was done so they didn't have an opportunity to add it to the perk description. Definitely a very handy little quirk though.

Makes sense that the woven mail part of the exotic activates from persistent damage to enemies when solo, otherwise half the exotic perk is lost just as a penalty for playing solo - hopefully it's not a bug but an intended feature!
Wouldn’t be surprised if ammo needed to apply woven mail is based off of either your FPS, your target’s, or both. Discrepancies like this seem to be tied to FPS
I didn’t even think about that possibility but it makes sense
@@itstyler6567 I hear ya. My guess as to why they’re so hesitant to call out everything FPS related would be that they’ve likely designed the game and its visuals to be appreciated as fluidly as possible. Posting a list of “here are the things you could lower your FPS for and make things easier” would probably work against that philosophy. So community testing will probably have to suffice for now unfortunately.

I'm glad they made helping others get the Catalyst I to a bonus drop chance thing dor those that don't have it. It makes it worth while for everyone involved in the process. Now if only they'd do this for the raid weapons with catalysts like ToM and Vex.

I don't have the dungeon key, but as a support player (favorite exotics are lumina and lunafactions) this would be the single biggest buff for a strand player ever.

Assembler is an infinitly better support exotic than Lunas tho

i could imagine that the amount of ammo needed to proc woven mail be tide to the amount of resilience that player has
I have a strong feeling it isn't a bug, as it seems to be coded differently. I say this because shooting a teammate and applying woven mail to both of you gives you ammo back, whereas no ammo is returned when you only apply it to yourself.
Nav and hollow denial (void trace) with lead from gold is really fun with cenotaph, unlimited ammo + 800 reserves to mark enemies in GMs.
That does sound like fun! What build and perks are you using on the hollow denial?

I really don't think this is a bug. Sustained fire gives Woven Mail to the user and target. An enemy target can't get it, but that doesn't mean you don't.
But it says firing this weapon at an ally, not at a target.
Protective Weave
Firing this weapon at an ALLY grants Woven Mail to both the user and the target.
I'm hoping though that it is still just a hidden perk
I was lucky enough to get this weapon this weekend and it indeed pairs nicely with the new exotic warlock helm. I'm not sure if it's on par with Divinity in PvE though. Still, it's really fun and I'm definitely gonna play around with it more in various subclass builds.
Divinity is for the big crit spot. This is for survivability. You won't be using this for raids but stuff like gms
I’m interested to see how (Artifact mods) conductive needle, strand soldier, and improved unraveling will play in a fire team. Does the damage stack with thunderous retort?
I wonder if the time it takes to apply woven mail depends on frame rate just like the tower debuff from Season of the Seraph? Where 15 seconds at 30fps was wayyy longer than 15 seconds at 144fps?
So when applying woven mail after the first shot hits you dont need to hit another till the last shot, and you can shoot one teammate 5 times then another player once and that player you shot ones will get woven mail. Theres also like this box thing when you ADS that shows the bounds you can miss around a player. Neat gun for sure
seems like applying the woven mail to a team mate works like div bubble on enemies. its based on time on target and decays over time.
So do you have to have strand equipped for the "shoot an enemy" bug to activate or does it grant woven mail no matter what subclass you're rockin
i got the navigator after my 1st dungeon run, and its a lot of fun! Its a great support weapon and pretty good at clearing ads!
Talk about the new hunter aspect “Threaded Spector” with “The Bombardiers” exotic armor.
So I think the way it’s applying woven make is based on time and not ammo. Think frenzy and how it activates and refreshes. So basically you need to put so much time/damage into a friendly to activate it and the ammo is mostly irrelevant but thanks to tapping you can get a rough idea of what optimal ammo usage would be.
Is the applied woven mail to allies depend on the resistance stat? Ie if they all had the same resistance stat. It would be the same amout of "shots" ?

So a grandmaster build? Warlock with the navigator and Cenotaph, Titan with thundercrash, hunter with the “which looks better? 1 or 2?” mask. Warlock uses strand, uses navigator catalyst on ground, hunter grapples it, warlock shoots titan for woven mail. Titan becomes amplified, uses super, and puts out massive damage while woven mail is active. Warlock places healing rift, generating threadlings and healing. Hunters uses rocket like hothead or gjally, just preference, and Titan uses something the other rocket launcher. Can also add a lumina on hunter for noble rounds. Idk just an idea, really rough, but might work?

@Fallout Plays, did find out this exotic makes it extremely easy for the Ghost of Deep cheese for boss and Kalli fight is really easy with the sever as you said with the Titans. Try with Hunter Gathering Storm with Star eaters is so much fun too

Also Imagine (youtuber) made a video on how the shooting of teammates works. Basically you shoot them once, then an internal timer starts, and if shot again after that timer ends, they get Woven mail as well as yourself. No tap-fire or continuous fire needed, and you can spend as little as 2 ammo (which you’ll get back anyway) to do it.
I do like the instant reload for grapple points, gonna be unloading all my rockets in 1 second on bosses lol
i doubt its a bug, hidden perks are not uncommen and this one just makes sense, as you pointed out, its the only way you can get woven mail from this weapon if you are solo.
I think the helmet looks great! It's my new favorite exotic armor piece. 😅

You need to ADS on a teamate. Hit the first shot a box will appear around your reticle keep the teamate in the box and the teamate will begin getting stacks i dont remember how much is needed but all the shots you need to hit will ADSd is the first and last
In 2 or 3 years when I'll get it I'll use it for sure. I'm still waiting for the Mythoclast to drop even though I am at 86 runs of the vault of glass :x

Another secret feature which is a double edge sword for controllers is the 100 aim assist works on both enemy and ALLY!!! Super nice for applying woven mail and SUPER annoying for casual shooting.

Maybe woven mail time to apply is effected by one of the team members stats
Maybe it's "damage" equal to to a health bar to proc so resistance effects it. Just spit balling here

This is a feature for sure. This is how I imagined the weapon to work, and it does! I'm happy to have a bit more survivability as a solo player, though I don't know if it's worth the exotic slot in my case. But hey, it's about having options!
Honestly, virtually unlimited 60% DR on ANY subclass alone seems like an insane trick for soloing harder content, not to mention Severing bosses. On top of that, you can drop a grapple point on-demand and spam grapple punches, and being a Kinetic slot trace rifle enables the Trace Rifle/Glaive combo for the first time, which conveniently happens to stun both Overload and Unstoppable champions. Slap on Strand Soldier and a Strand heavy weapon and you've got 60% DR, a glaive shield, Sever, and stuns for every single champion type, without using exotic armor nor being tied to a specific subclass.

Maybe the application of woven mail is based on rng. bungie seems to like escalating chance things so maybe theres a percent chance (say 25) that at 4 shots it triggers then at 5 its a 50 percent and at 6 theres a 100 chance itll grant woven mail.

Imagine made a vid showing that its only the first and last bullet of ~4-6 rounds that have to hit your teammate to proc woven mail. Also, in ADS a small box will appear that shows the area you have to keep your teammate in to proc woven mail.

nah this better not change cuz if ur able to apply fucking overshield with anything nowadays you should be able to get woven mail/restoration just as easily. in fact, we have repulsor/destabilizing. give us a strand version that severs on kills and another that killing a debuffed gives u woven. rework unrelenting (or make a new perk) that killing scorched enemies gives u restoration

Man I still gotta finish the Witherhoad cat. Really don't want to get required kills in pvp for it though.
Just hop into iron banner with it and shoot objective points. Blueberries will literally just kill themselves running over your blight puddles.

No because it’s not actual damage
@@M4sn11 I think you missed the point. It could still be tied to resilience, for example, if you have T10 resilience, maybe you need to be shot more to get the buff, versus a lower tier resil guardian might take fewer shots.

They are still once per character per week unless the dungeon or raid is in rotation

They haven't changed boink hammer so I don't see them changing this.

My favorite play with navigator so far is a bunch of exploders we’re coming at me and my dad. So I shot him with it giving us both woven mail and threw a rift down. We survived and it felt so bad ass!
will say its interesting and all while being pretty damn good because of artifacts. Won't say its meta but will be fun to play around with especially while we have artifact mods that buff it.
i played comp matches with a Warlock that was using this weapon and shooting at us, no wonder why we clapped the enemy team lmao
I'd say it's a hidden perk just not listed. It would be really bad solo if it didn't do the mail on sever
I don't see this being a bug, considering how easy it is to get WM from an orb of light that you get from multikills with this same weapon.
I’ll prob stick to ruinous. Just because it’s fun and actually rather effective for anything that isn’t boss DPS.
I second many comments: if this isn't intended it should be. It gives the gun more of a purpoae
